Style and Soul Salon and Wellness Spa's Moroccon Bath

When you think of Bacoor, you think of a province. You think of trees and weird looking public vehicles but you never think of a spiffy spa. No no no, a nice spa just doesn't cross your mind when asked to describe Bacoor.

However, today, that notion has been destroyed by Style and Soul Salon and Wellness Spa. I was referred by a friend to review this place since I have reviewed several spa in the past. After being lost, I finally found the place and this is what greeted me.

Admittedly, I wasn't impressed at first glance. I even thought to myself, "how can this tiny place actually have an area for a Moroccan Bath and a Spa?" Apparently the saying "great things come in small packages" applies to this place for inside, it had more than ample space for a Moroccan Bath and even a couples massage room as well as a solo one.

Moroccan Bath Room

Couples Massage room
I was blown away. After serving coffee and cookies (yes, they also serve this and if you stay more than 2 hours, they also give you food. How awesome is that right?) I was ready to take my Moroccan Bath.

A Moroccan Bath or otherwise known as a Turkish bath is described as the following in Wikipedia :

" The Turkish bath starts with relaxation in a room (known as the warm room) that is heated by a continuous flow of hot, dry air, allowing the bather to perspire freely. Bathers may then move to an even hotter room (known as the hot room) before they wash in cold water. After performing a full body wash and receiving a massage, bathers finally retire to the cooling-room for a period of relaxation.

It was my first time to try so I really didn't know what to expect. Luckily, I got a therapist who was very patient and explained everything to me. It seems that this spa imports all their materials from Dubai.

Everything you see in this photo is from Dubai; even the loofah that is used. They also used black soap with argan oil which ensures that you maximize the benefits of the bath which are as follows:

- Improves skin elasticity and clarity.
- It works as an anti-aging procedure.
- Balances oil secretion in the skin and controls acne.
- Refines skin texture by removing dead skin layers.
- Re-hydrates skin and soothes redness and flakiness.
- Improves the skin color, removes tan etc.
- Increased physical and emotional detox.
- Nourishing skin with vitamins and minerals.
- Enhanced deep relaxation and rejuvenation.
- Reduces stress and anxiety.

I was asked to lie face down and then it was bath time and when I say it was bath time, I literally mean that they will bathe you. Yes, the therapist will bathe you and scrub you while massaging key areas of your body where the muscles would be really sore. Normally, you would have to be naked for this but since this is the Philippines,  a 2 piece swimwear is allowed for women.

After getting scrubbed from head to foot, they also applied hair mask, face mask, and body mask. It was all very safe because they used organic clay. I liked that it wasn't icky and that the therapist took her time in scrubbing my entire body. I felt like there were no layers of dirt left on my body but at the same time, my skin didn't hurt from the scrubbing.

The therapist was also the one who squeezed the hair out of my face, took off the face mask by gently pouring water on my face so as not to drown me and she was also the one who dried my body. Apparently, this is all part of the treatment because in the old days, it was actually the Prince and Princesses who get these kind of treatment.

WOW! I definitely felt like one.

After the bath, I was led to this room.

Here, I experienced the most extensive and detail oriented massage I have ever had. She must have spent 30 minutes on my back alone, 30 minutes on my foot, and another 30 minutes overall. I dind't want to fall asleep because I wanted to enjoy every minute of it but I snoozed. It was so good.

The way my muscles were kneaded made me feel like I was a lump of bread. It was just so good. My foot, which has been aching since Friday last week, is now pain free. My back, which has always been a pain, is now feeling relaxed.

Overall, this is one of the best spa treatments that I have ever had. I felt like royalty the whole time I was being treated. Seriously, it was fit for a princess.
