ducky flashdrive

I've never been a techie person. I'm what I fondly call a technobobo (someone really stupid when it comes to technical stuff.) When I first encountered flash drives, they scared me. I was like, what in God's name is this? Then I eventually learned what it was for and now, I'm even thinking of getting a 2GB flash drive. I wonder if this model will be available in the Philippines though? I'm sure my baby would love it.

guilt spending ...

I feel guilty coz I got some stuff for myself ... I guess it is ingrained in Mothers to thrift themselves and save instead ... and spend money on baby and other necessities. But I want to refute that. I think it's wrong.

Don't get me wrong ... we have some savings, and now I feel that I deserve to get some stuff for myself as well. I don't wanna be like the Mom's that I read about who get so fed up spending on others or nurturing others and neglecting themselves that one day, they wake up and BAM! they leave without turning back.

I want to take care of my family and yet, take care of myself as well. Nothing bad about that right?

Right?

to Flare, my buddy

Do you make time to meet with old friends? You know, the one whom you text from time to time, catch on ym, and send Christmas cards too as a way of keeping in touch with simply because you both are too busy to see each other? Well yesterday, I met up with an old college friend, Flare. Funny thing about Flare was that I didn't even really like her back in college. She was too bland for me. I know, I'm such a meanie. But we became friends and because of her, I have become addicted to Starbucks.

We met up at McCafe because we were both feeling poor and couldn't afford Starbucks at the moment. :D She looked awesome. She finally grew her hair long and dare I say, had it relaxed as well. She looked hot! She also looked happy. Of course, Flare being the obsessive compulsive sorta psychotic person that she is, decided to put her relationship under a microscope. Does he love me? We had a fight ... yadada ... yadidi ... I fnally had to stop her and say ... it's okay. You're good.

Hay naku Flare, what am I to do with you?

And to make everything perfect in her eyes, she grabbed this book as we were browsing in Powerbooks and showed it to me. It was a Mommy Journal and you can write love letters to your baby in it. I fell in love.

I love you Bitch! You rock!

sweets I miss from my childhood

Oh boy! I have loads of these. Top of my list would be that lil version of Tootsie Roll ... one would take ages to finish since it's so sticky and you gotta chew it again and again just to swallow a piece! I loved tootsie roll. The Tootsie Roll they have nowadays are way exaggerated.

Another would be the Donut Pop that's making a comeback these days. I remember having it whenever we'd go to Harrison Plaza. No one I know remembered it whenever I would tell them of this donut that was like a lollipop made by Mr. Donuts until they brought it back to the market. YUMMY!

One thing I miss though is the local version of M&M in our country also known as baby bubot. I only get to buy it in our province but I heard that they sell it here as well along with the mani and what have you. You really should try it. Candy coated peanut ... not NIPS okay ... its just candy coated peanut.

I miss those days.

B's First Steps

I was able to capture on film his first official steps and mind you, these were not just 3 steps but he was able to walk from one end of the room to the other without falling flat on his face. I'm so proud.Next thing I know, there will be a mini tornado in the house!

chocolate is bad for you

Chocolate is bad for you. It's too sweet that it makes your teeth rot and go straight to your hips. I DON'T CARE! I' m depressed and so I've been gobbling chocolates, choco mallows, and drinking chocolait! I am gonna be on sugar overdrive.

I need to snap out of this ... I can handle this. I will survive. I need to.

I hope I don't look like this monkey now. That would be too much to handle.

random thoughts # 4

My weekend in a nutshell ...

Friday after I left the office, my Mom called me and asked if I wanted to go swimming with them at Hyatt Hotel. I really didn't feel like it so I said that I would just meet up with them. Afterwards, in my desperate attempt for them to take me home instead of my having to commute, I convinced my little sister to convince my Mom to go to Festival Mall and see the Pixie Forest and the Grand Carousel. So we went there and they were able to see what I've been yakking about for how many months and Kianna fell in love with it ... much to my Mom's dismay since it's located in Alabang and they live in Binondo. Har har har ... we also ended up buying stuff from National Book Store and I got 4 books which I've been dying to read ...

1) Deception Point by Dan Brown
2) The Devil Wears Prada
3) Five People You Meet in Heaven
4) Tuesdays with Morrie

Love it! =)

Saturday on the other hand was a shopping spree sort of thing for me ... bought underwear, shoes, bags, scrapping stuff, 2 emergency lights for the house, a rechargeable electric fan for B, a cologne for hubby and of course, some toys, socks, and sandos for my lil angel.

We also got to watch Lani Misalucha perform for free and boy is she really good! She can belt out songs with no effort at all. No wonder she's called Asia's Nightingale.

And to cap off the evening, we watched Da Vinci Code. I loved the film. It really makes you think. I loved what Langdon said in the end of the film ...

"Why can Jesus not be human and yet be divine? Why can he not be man yet make miracles?"

I'm not sure if I've captured it verbatim but that's about the gist of it. And Sophie's line in the middle of the film is what I believe the root of all the controversy ...

"Who is God? Who is Man?"

Sunday was lovely as well ... we went to my Dad's place where I was able to get a really nice picture of all of us ... hhmm ... mosaic or mousepad? Which one should I make?

Overall, very nice weekend ... *sigh of contentment*

Close Up Smile

This is the first photo of Brent with his two front teeth showing ... hidden beneath his lips are three more located in the upper gum ... awwww ....

fantastic ideas!

GIFT WRAPPED

Saw this from WIFELY STEPS and just loved the idea ... So I'm gonna share it to whoever will get to read this ... picture is from her site as well.

Use manila paper to cover your gifts and then just wrap colorful ribbons around them and put a tag ... cool huh?

NOTE CARDS

Another wonderful idea I read about from her blog is this: wedding note cards. Instead of having guests sign in a guest book, there will be calling card sized cards wherein guests can write what they want to tell the couple. It may be a joke, an advise, a drawing ... anything! It's so cool and yes, more meaningful!

B's Jacket

B finally wore his jacket that was handed down from his Aunt Kianna. He actually doesn't look drowned and looks really adorable. It made me teary eyed because it's another sign that he's growing up really fast. I won't be able to cuddle him soon nor carry him in my arms or lull him to sleep. Sniff.

My little boy is growing up.

Craftin Pages

Finally, I was able to add some pages to my scrapbook ... its been a while since I actually had time to do this and last Mother's Day .. I was able to ... so here they are ... and then some ...

This is a page dedeicated to my lil sister, Kai. You can see a napkin from Starbucks as well as the receipt where she signed her name, and of course, a picture to freeze that moment.

This is the 1st page of Brent's 2nd scrapbook ... the writings on the right side tells of how this scrapbook will be about CAPTURED MOMENTS ...

This last picture shows the ONLY birthday card that I have received from my Father. I treasure this so much since it's the only one and I know that my Dad is not the type to give out cards.

a mother's letter to her son

I never wanted you in my life. I didn't want you coz I thought that I was going to be a bad mother. I was too selfish and self centered and unable to take care of myself. I thought, how can I take care of you if I can't even take care of myself?

Then you came ...

I was half happy and half apprehensive. I hated being pregnant at times coz there were too many adjustments and pains. But whenever you would move or I would hear your heart beating, I was overcome with such raw love that I knew I would kill anyone who would dare to hurt you.

You were mine.

And then I gave birth to you and it was the most painful thing I had to go through physically ... but you were worth it ... a single smile from you could erase all the pain away. And I realized ...

You're not mine.

God has just allowed me to borrow you ... and I cry ... but I know that in the time that he will lend us to you and before someone else claims you as hers ... I will make the most of the time I can spend with you ...

So while you're still small and malleable, I will kiss you and hug you as much as I want ... coz I know that one day, you will grow up and tell me to not kiss you coz you're a big boy now. And that will break my heart ... but I will respect your wishes ... and just kiss you at night when you're fast asleep.

I love you B. You are my heart, walking outside my body.

mother's day 2006

Here is how we celebrated Mother's Day this year ... my first one with B since last year he was still in my tummy doing cartwheels. =)

Picture above shows me with my Mom and brothers at Red Kimono ... its located in the Fort and quite a fancy place. The twins decided to treat us (me and my Mom) and food was yummy.

And this last picture is of my baby and me on Mother's Day.

Don't we look good together?

B at 10 months old

Here he is, all bundled up because it was cold as hell and raining cats and dogs. Doesn't he just look like a snow bunny? Hihi ...

Brent at 9 months

This is Brent's favorite pastime nowadays ... gnawing on things ... and consuming gallons of milk a day ... I swear, he drinks too much milk but doesn't get fat at all coz he's so active. My baby ... 9 months old now and has 5 teeth that he won't show for the camera ... sigh, the love of my life.

Daddy's Girl

The only goofy picture that I have with my father ... it does seem that old age makes them a lil bit softer ... wouldn't have dreamed of having this picture with my Dad years ago but now ... here it is ... I LOVE THIS PIC! I love my Dad! =)

On His Own

Finally, my Brent can really stand up on his own. And he's so excited to practice ... he falls down then stands up again and claps like hell. My baby ... the love of my life ...

random thoughts # 1

Yesterday in a nutshell.

- fell asleep while talking to Cheng whom I invited out for coffee ... the shame ... I was the one who invited her for coffee and I ended up falling asleep on her while she was telling me her woes.

- got home to find my son roasting in the heat because the yaya did not know how to operate the aircon. I didn't know if I wanted to roast her as well or hang myself for not teaching her how to use it.

- lil tornado slept with us and seemed not too comfy in his crib. Maybe because we took out the comforter and he had to make do with his baby comforter.

- finished watching Season 1 - 5 of Sex and the City ... love love love the series ...

I wonder what today would bring?

hello world!

... Kay ...

I'm a simple girl who used to be too naive for her own good. I believe in love and in happy endings no matter how many times I have gotten my heart broken, stepped on, spat on, and crushed.

I'm a model but I have a brain that functions quite well, thank you very much.

I am very opionated and have a scathing remark for people who do not know how to respect opinions.

I am witty which at times border on the sarcastic side.

I am funny, too funny at times that I almost always lose whatever poise I have gathered at the moment.

I am a daughter, a friend and a lover. I love my family, am very loyal to my friends and when I love, I love with abandon and with all of my heart. I do not hold back.

I am vengeful. I try to keep that in check but at times, I let it go, especially if the person deserves it.

I am a bookworm. I love reading books, I have quite a collection of them actually . .. . from Archie to serious ones like To Kill a Mockingbird.

I am a collector. I collect friends, I collect cards which have inspirational thoughts, I collect letters and cards given to me, I colelct pillows and I collect memories.

I am a writer. I write when I'm happy and most especially when I am alone and I feel like there is no one there for me.

I am a person with a heart who has been broken too many times. Way too many times.

I am scared. Scared of loving once again. Scared of getting hurt. Scared of crying once more.

I am a woman who has given everything she can to prove her love, to nurture it and make it lasts.

I am a mother who has blessed many times over and is hoping to be blessed over and over again by the presence of one tiny baby who's changed my life forever.

I am me.
