Honest Review of Villa Parmigiano in Alabang West

I saw an influx of reviews and features about Villa Parmigiano on my newsfeed for the last two weeks and so like any other consumer, my interest was piqued.

It was a standalone restaurant in the middle of Alabang West. It was spacious, looked inviting, and it had pizza and pasta, two things that our family loves.

I said to myself, "We need to try this place."

Earlier today, I decided that my family and I would here for dinner. I had visions of great food, wonderful ambiance, and lots of laughter in between dishes.

Sadly, this was not the case.

I wanted to like the place. I wanted to recommend it to people but there were just too many oversights that didn't sit well with me.

Now don't come for me because I am talking based on what I experienced. It may not be the same for you (I truly hope it's not) but for us, it was a comedy of errors.

I made reservations which was a good thing because the restaurant was almost full on the first floor. We were given a good spot to sit though it was a bit tight. This was a little bit of an issue because I specifically requested a spot where we can comfortably put my son's high chair.

My son is big for his age and doesn't fit in a normal restaurant high chair so we bring our own. The spot we were given wasn't spacious but we made do. I didn't make a fuss about it.

We didn't receive our complimentary bread basket and had to ask twice for it. This matters because it speaks of their service and because the cooking time is 25-35 minutes. The complimentary bread basket would have helped lessen the impact of the cooking time.

I ordered their cheese board but when our starter arrived, it came in a plate and it did not look appetizing at all. Now some may say, it's just a plate. However, with a place like this, with a price point like this, the experience also matters. The overall impression matters.

I would understand if they had run out of boards but we could clearly see the boards piled up on the counter. When we asked the staff, she couldn't answer why they didn't use the boards that they were supposed to.

The one thing that truly irked me was how they would serve the hot food. For some reason, they would always pass the food in front of my toddler. We all know how toddlers have no complete control of their actions right?

It was an accident waiting to happen. The first and second times they did this, I was nice and redirected them to pass it to the other side. The third and fourth times, I was really near snapping but managed to not say anything mean. I did let them know that I was not pleased about it because they could potentially burn my son's skin or my son could end up breaking things if he flails his arms all of a sudden out of excitement.

Another thing that I noticed was the fact that all servers looked unhappy or mad. I don't know what it was but they just didn't look happy. They didn't give off a welcoming vibe. Maybe they were tired but it was just off.

You also need to be extra patient because every single time we had to call a server, we'd need to do so at least 3x before someone would notice us. Mind you, I'm not a slender gal. I'm very easy to spot coz there's a lot of me to spot.

If they can fix all of these mishaps, that would be great.

As for the food, most of it was great!

My husband loved the Rigatoni which was cooked on a cheese wheel by the in-house Italian Chef that they flew over all the way from Italy.

It doesn't look appealing but thankfully, my partner who is a cheese lover loved every single bite. My kids loved the pesto pasta and the authentic carbonara. Apparently, carbonara with cream is not authentic carbonara.

The pesto that was for sharing was only this big. I felt like it's good for 1-2 persons at most or maybe, we're just voracious eaters hahahaha.

This was the other dish that got my attention. The buratta pizza was pretty good but for me, it was so-so. I had a better one from another pizza joint near Crimson Hotel.

Now this, this was the real winner for me. First, I love arugula and this was one of the freshest I've ever had. The flatbread was also baked / cooked to perfection. It was overall heaven in a bite.

Overall, it was a good dinner in terms of food but not so good in terms of service.

Would I go back? I'd say for now, it's a no for me. There are better Italian places with really good food and great service. I hope they improve because price point is not that budget friendly so there's an expectation that needs to be met.

ASUS Bolsters Support to Filipino Artisans, Culminates Zarah Juan Collaboration

The collaboration and celebration of Filipino craftsmanship culminated as the ASUS x Zarah Juan partnership held a laptop turnover and specialized training for Filipino artisans behind the limited-edition Zen Tote.

ASUS put Filipino craftsmanship at the forefront during the recently ended Incredible Transformation: Future-ready Business Management Workshop for Filipino Artisans. After a widely successful ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED launch last year, the ASUS and Zarah Juan collaboration culminated through specialized digital literacy training and laptop donation turnover to seven Filipino artisan communities from different parts of the Philippines. Artisans from Lake Sebu, Davao City, Isabela Province, Paete, Bulacan, and Marikina City gathered in Ortigas Center, Pasig City, on March 9, 2023. Each community received an ASUS laptop to support them in their business transformation and digitize their day-to-day business transactions.

In September 2022, ASUS partnered with Filipino social entrepreneur and fashion accessory designer Zarah Juan to design and create a limited edition sustainable locally-made bag to launch the world's lightest 13.3-inch 2.8K OLED laptop ASUS Zenbook S 13 OLED. The Zarah Juan Zen Tote materializes ASUS' thrust towards human-centric design thinking. Made by artisan communities in the country and of locally available materials, the Zen Tote depicts the perfect balance between aesthetics and functionality — the perfect accessory with the Zenbook S 13 OLED.

The Zarah Juan brand is the designer's solution for single-use bags. Her journey as a designer and an entrepreneur led her to strengthen the livelihood of Filipino artisans. It has now evolved into a brand known for its #ProudLocal pieces made by Filipinos from different parts of the country. Aside from environmental sustainability, Zarah Juan pushes for social sustainability and upholds cultural continuity by showcasing Filipino heritage.

ASUS Philippines Country Manager George Su shared, "Our philosophy has always been innovation that enhances users' way of life. We hope the ASUS Vivobook 13 Slate OLED laptops our Filipino artisans received will empower them to work toward incredible success and gear them up for the international export stage. We believe they are vital in preserving and expanding the vibrant Filipino culture."

"The ASUS and Zarah Juan partnership is one of a kind because there is an aligned vision to dig deeper into how we can work together in empowering our artisans. We are thankful to ASUS for providing them the right tools they need to be more competitive and ready to face the global market", Zarah Juan Creative Director Zarah Juan also added.

Filipino artisans participated in a whole-day workshop to learn how technology can make their livelihood more efficient, faster, and all-in-all. They got to familiarize themselves with creating data sheets and encoding business information such as product costing, materials inventory, and admin forms, to name a few. They were also taught how to take proper care of their laptops to ensure they can maximize their usage and benefits for future generations.

ASUS is committed to providing a meaningful and sustainable way of living, not just in the innovative products they make but also through activities that nourish the Filipino society and environment. The ASUS x Zarah Juan collaboration proved to be a holistic campaign that raises product awareness and highlights cultural continuity by providing livelihood to Filipino artisans and equipping them with digital know-how to fulfill the digital demands of their existing and future clients. As ASUS takes one small step toward cultural and social sustainability, it hopes to inspire Filipinos to join the movement and make a change in their respective communities.

SM Scholar-Alumna Takes the Road Less Travelled

Teaching surpasses the realms of jobs or professions–it encompasses service, vocation, and life mission.

Proving this day and night are millions of Filipino teachers who stand as second mothers to students. One of them is Rosalie Macaspac, an SM scholar alumna who chose to pursue a career in Special Education (SPED).

Choosing to teach, especially pursue SPED, is a path less traveled. Out of over 800,000 public school teachers, only about 4,000 are in SPED, and Rosalie is one of the few who took the path. For 21 years now, the SM scholar alumna has dedicated her life to teaching SPED students. She wanted to empower and give special children a voice by advocating the welfare of deaf learners.

With much dedication and determination to have the right skills for her students, she pursued graduate studies in special education and Filipino sign language at the Philippine National University and De La Salle College of Saint Benilde, respectively.

She currently teaches at the Philippine School for the Deaf in Pasay, the only government-owned institution for the deaf in the country. Here, she spearheaded the numeracy skills training program for deaf learners.

Embedding grit, greatness

Her journey to becoming an educator was not easy. Her parents separated when she was three years old, and her mother became the breadwinner.

“In the early years of my life as a three-year-old, awareness of how hard life is becoming a part of my growing up. I grew up with a mindset that whatever happens, I will not abandon my studies. Sensing my determination, my mother earned a living by washing and ironing the clothes of our neighbors. I came to realize my mom had to wash and press thousands and thousands of clothes so I could finish my studies. But I did not pity myself. Instead, I kept a strong determination to battle on and promised my mother that she will not grow old and die as a laundry woman,” she said.

The weight on their shoulder became heavier when her mother became bedridden for half a year. Instead of slowing her down, it did the opposite. She continued her studies with much determination. With the help of her uncle, the Missionaries of Charity, and the puto bigas she sold, they could get by.

She finished primary school with good grades and was a consistent honor student in high school, despite having one centavo allowance and rice and coffee as meals. With good standing, she had her mind set on her next goal: going to college.

“Giving up or surrendering wasn’t in my vocabulary. The strong heart of my mother was passed on to me as she was my inspiration to strive to get us out of the predicament we were in,” she stressed.

“When I was in fourth-year high school, I was deep in thought of what to do to support my college education.  Then, God in all His goodness stepped in again. The Guidance Office in our school announced that the SM Foundation was offering scholarships for qualified students. I knew at that very moment that He was with me. All I had to do is to apply for the scholarship,” she recalled.

Rosalie (fifth from left) and her fellow scholar alumni take a photo with SMIC Executive Director Harley Sy (third from left)

She vividly remembers sending her SM College Scholarship program application at the Customer Service of the SM in Quiapo and how she learned on May 9, 1995, that she would be interviewed for the scholarship in room 214 of the MSE Bldg. The three-digit number has since become unforgettable for her. By June 1995, Macaspac was among the SM scholars who had started their college education under the scholarship program.

According to her, the scholarship helped her become a well-rounded individual. It was the key to the realization of her dreams and paved the way to success. The activities provided by SM Foundation, such as the scholars’ assembly, orientation, leadership training, sports fest, and annual retreat, were very memorable for her.

“Looking back, the retreats, monthly meetings, and being able to work in SM as an employee, followed up by our project director boosted my self-esteem and opened my world to service,” she said.

Before teaching, she first worked as a Merchandise and Planning Control-Clerk at the SM Head Office, which was then located in Calle Echague, Manila. She was hired immediately after college.

Working in DepEd has always been her dream, and she is proud of where she is today: “Since day one of my college days, I aimed to be a public-school teacher. I am happy with my work now as a High School Teacher for Deaf learners. I am so privileged that I am in this community and my heart is entwined with my students.”

“I am not ashamed to tell my colleagues that I had a humble beginning and I thank SM Foundation for putting me where I am now. I owe these blessings to SM, Henry “Tatang” Sy, SM Foundation, Ma’am Nilda Bernaldez, and my fellow SM-Scholars, most especially, my mother. They are all the instruments to why I chose to give back to a special community and dedicate my life to being an effective SPED teacher.”

Daughter of Former Flower Farmers Lives a Vibrant Life through the SM Scholarship Grant

Stability is the foundation of a well-lived life. With basic needs fulfilled, people have the opportunity to develop themselves, explore various facets of life, and contribute to the welfare of the community.

When aspiring youth, especially those from low-income households, are given the chance to stand on solid ground, they readily take the chance. They utilize it as a seedbed where they can cultivate their dreams and aspirations.

One testament to this is SM scholar alumna Jonnah Jane Sacamay, who grew up in a family where stability seemed like uncharted territory. Years back, Jonnah’s family’s main source of living was flower farming. This made them walk on a thin line as the demand for flowers was seasonal, and they were also often affected by unpredictable weather disturbances.

But while they had journeyed through life with uncertainty, they had always planted in her mind the power of education.

“Given that the nature of farming is very seasonal, our income is not stable. Aside from augmenting our daily needs, we also had to ensure that my education is secured,” Jonnah recalled.

Holding on to the power of education

And so, to help her family, she studied hard in grade school as soon as she learned about others who had the opportunity to pursue college through the SM College Scholarship Program. With her whole heart dedicated to learning and her eyes set on the SM scholarship, she finished high school as the class valedictorian. Once the forms were available, she immediately processed her application at the SM Store in Cebu.

“I was informed that I got accepted as an SM Scholar. From then on, a huge weight was lifted off my parents' shoulders. I could pursue my chosen degree in my chosen university,” she added.

Through the scholarship offered by the SM group through SM Foundation, she was able to focus on the development of her skills and knowledge not only in accountancy but especially in life. She became a Magna Cum Laude graduate of BS Accountancy at the University of San Carlos.

Jonnah (center) with her parents during her graduation

“The SM Scholarship helped me reach my dream of becoming a CPA, and this opened doors for me, enabling me to land a job that empowered me to help my family,” she said.

“My experience in retail has given me wide knowledge in different areas. With this, I always make sure that my family makes informed decisions in all aspects of life. One thing that has become a tradition among SM Cebu scholars during my time was to have an outreach program. In our own way, we were able to pay forward the help that we received from SM. It was a fulfilling experience that we could share our blessings in our own little way,” she added.

Jonnah currently serves as a Senior Accounting Manager at the SM Store, in Cebu. Aside from financial security, she currently takes care of her parents’ medical expenses and lets them enjoy vibrant life experiences after retiring as flower farmers.

Jonnah Sacamay serves as a Senior Accounting Manager at the SM Store in Cebu.

“Having a degree enabled me and my family to experience more in life. It paved the way for me to secure a stable job, which allowed me to travel, treat my family to a nice meal, take them shopping on special occasions, and most importantly, support my parents and their medical expenses. Aside from providing me with a scholarship grant, working in SM has provided a sense of security for me and my family,” she shared.

Opening doors to more

SM Foundation made it its goal to help create an environment where low-income families can thrive and achieve stability, just like how the SM College Scholarship Program paved way for Jonnah and her family.

For the school year 2023-2024, the application period is open from February 1-March 31, 2023. The selected scholars may specialize in accounting, information technology, engineering, and education with full tuition and monthly allowance, including enrichment programs and activities.

SM Supermalls, SM Cares to join Earth Hour 2023

SM Supermalls, together with its corporate social responsibility arm SM Cares, is joining the rest of the world in observing Earth Hour this coming March 25 as the company renews its commitment to environmental stewardship.

This year's Earth Hour is all about "creating the Biggest Hour for Earth," and those who want to participate in the global activity are encouraged to spend 60 minutes doing something positive for the planet, in addition to switching off their lights.

SM Supermalls has been supporting Earth Hour and the WWF since the initiative was first held in the Philippines in 2008. This year, customers, tenants and employees at SM malls nationwide are once again encouraged to “Give an Hour for Earth” as SM Supermalls joins the annual Global Lights Switch Off from 8:30 PM to 9:30PM on March 25.

This day also marks the start of the World Wildlife Fund’s Virtual Earth Hour Run, a self-paced run supported by SM Cares, to be held from March 25 to April 30, 2023. The run aligns with SM Supermalls’ bid to make “Earth Hour, Any Hour” as participants are encouraged to adopt an eco-friendly lifestyle by running and win prizes along the way. Joiners may register here and tag SM Cares and WWF as they post their stopovers at SM malls with hashtags #BiggestHourForEarth and #EarthHourVirtualRun.

Aside from these, SM Supermalls has been pushing to minimize its carbon footprint in support of the global green movement through various programs ranging from responsible energy consumption to investing in renewable energy.

For instance, more than 50 percent of the energy consumed by SM malls all over the country now comes from renewable sources. In terms of solar energy usage, SM now has 12 malls equipped with energized solar panels, with SM Mall of Asia as the latest mall to receive a solar panel installation, which has a capacity of 2.003 MWp.

SM has also been recognized for exceeding compliance with RA7920 or the New Electrical Engineering Law, which regulates the practice, licensing, and registration of electrical engineers and electricians. This is proof that SM is operated and maintained only by highly qualified engineers.

SM Cares' sustainability initiatives include the Trash-To-Cash Market and the Plastic Waste Collection program, which encourage responsible solid waste disposal among Filipinos; the annual Green Film Festival which promotes environmental awareness among students and the youth; and the International Coastal Cleanup which encourages stakeholders to do their part in keeping our seas and oceans clean.

Chevron Sponsors AmCham Foundation ScholaRun

To help send disadvantaged youths to school, Chevron Philippines Inc. (CPI), marketer of the Caltex brand of fuels and lubricants, together with its shared services center, Chevron Holdings Inc., sponsored the recent 9th AmCham Eat and Run ScholaRUN at the Liwasang Ulalim, CCP Complex, Pasay City.

The run-for-a-cause is an annual event by the American Chamber Foundation  Philippines, Inc. (ACFPI) to help raise funds for its scholarship program. ACFPI supports underprivileged youth through various development and education initiatives.

The scholarship enables students in high school, college, and vocational courses to fund their tuition fees and school supplies and provides allowance and guidance all to way to their on-the-job training. At least 2,000 former AmCham scholars were able to finish their studies since the program started which Chevron has always supported.

About 175 employees from CHI and CPI joined the run in support of the AmCham Foundation's cause. The event registered over 3,000 runners.

“We have been a long-time partner of AmCham and its initiatives and programs. Through this activity, we were able to further strengthen our relationship and commitment to the foundation as well as our support to their scholars. We trust that through our collective efforts, students get a chance to have a better life and more opportunities to succeed,” shared Chevron Human Resources Regional Manager Mark Quebral.

“It’s a great feeling knowing that your mere presence and participation are already helping underprivileged students in their studies. As an added bonus, you also get to do something good for yourself through exercising and staying active. Chevron believes in AmCham’s cause of contributing to the community and helping people in need, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with them and supporting their other events and activities,” CHI General Manager Ethan Flowers shared.

At the awards ceremony after the run, CHI Corporate Affairs Manager Arlita Narag accepted a plaque of appreciation as AmCham’s co-presenter of the 9th ScholaRUN. Hammering on its unique eat-and-run concept, participants got to taste American favorites such as pizza, burgers, and donuts upon reaching the pit stop. The 9th Eat and Run ScholaRUN featured categories in 200M, 3K, 5K, 10K, and 21K.

“We are very happy with the turnout and the general mood of the run. We are, after all, doing this for students and youth in need, so we are beyond grateful to all who participated. Currently, we have 50 scholars studying vocational technology at Don Bosco Makati. All the proceeds from our fundraising events, including the ScholaRUN - Eat & Run, go to our scholarship programs. So as always, we appreciate our sponsors, partners and participants who made this event possible,” said Edwin Feist, President of ACFPI.

3 Kitchen Subscriptions You Need

If you’re an on-the-go yuppie, a hands-on parent, or someone with too much on their plate, you’ve surely searched far and wide for life hacks that will shorten your to-do list. Lots of busy people hope to avoid not just the physical work of getting things done but also the mental load of having to answer questions as trivial as “What do we eat tonight?”

Thankfully, to help you manage your kitchen needs, there are services you can conveniently book online, giving you one less thing to worry about on top of your daily cooking and cleaning chores. While shopping cute yet functional kitchenware ‘budols’ has been on-trend, you’d be surprised to know that scoring cheap everyday kitchen items are not the only thing you can do online.

Here are handy online services that will make sure your kitchen is in tip-top shape:

Bread subscription

Rice may be the most staple food in every Filipino home, but bread makes an ever-reliable snack and meal alternative. Whether you prefer loaf bread, dinner rolls, pan de sal or even artisanal breads, a subscription will make sure you always have your fill of bread. You simply order and pay once, and you’re all set to receive your chosen kind of bread once or twice a week right to your doorstep.

Customized meal kits

Foreseeing a particularly busy work week, leaving you with less time to cook? If you still want the overall experience of cooking while cutting down on prep time, meal kits allow you to cook delicious dishes without having to worry about going on grocery runs. Some meal kit subscriptions can also be customized based on serving size, budget, number of dishes, and food or diet preferences.

LPG Refill

Doing groceries can now be done online, but do you know that you can also purchase your essential LPG tank and refills through your phone or laptop? With lots of fake LPG in the market, trusting only authorized LPG distributors is important so you could get quality kitchen fuel that lasts long, while also protecting your household from damaged and dilapidated tanks that are prone to leakage and are at risk of explosion.

Making sure that you get genuine and trusted LPG doesn’t have to be difficult as Solane LPG, one of the leading LPG brands in the country, has many ways of delivering straight to your doorstep so you no longer have to bring your LPG tank to the nearest LPG distributor.

Simply download the Solane LPG app, available on the App Store or Google Play, or visit the Solane Web Ordering platform (order.solane.com.ph) and be connected to the nearest authorized distributor or showroom in your chosen area. The next time you’re almost out of LPG, you can simply order ahead with just a few taps on your phone.

Metro Manila customers may also call the Solane Hatid-Bahay hotline at +632 8887-5555 from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm daily or text at 0918-8875555 or 0917-8977555. Customers in select cities outside Metro Manila may also call their nearest authorized distributor or showroom through additional Solane nationwide hotline numbers listed on Solane’s official Facebook page.

For customers who prefer to transact through Facebook Messenger, ordering through chat is also possible from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. Visit http://m.me/solane.ph, or visit Solane’s Facebook page and click ‘Message.’

The company wants to further build meaningful relationships with its customers and be their ally in advocating proactive measures to keep themselves and their families safe and protected.

With this, Home Credit also offers solutions to give the best protection to its customers. Serving customers, valuing communities

As the lifestyle partner of every Filipino, Home Credit remains steadfast in its mission of empowering Filipinos, Para sa Life. The company has focused on advocating financial literacy, which aligns with Home Credit’s thrust of championing environmental, social, and governance (ESG).

Last year, Home Credit’s flagship financial literacy program Wais sa Home reached more than 20 million Filipinos across the country and has driven onsite financial literacy programs in various provinces, particularly in the communities of Pampanga, Iloilo, Guimaras, Capiz, Antique, and Aklan.

The company also commits to a greener earth with 30 million sheets of paper saved in overall transactions, an equivalent of 2,000 trees conserved due to its digitalization initiative. Aside from that, Home Credit also promotes equity by providing more substantial purchasing power for women who comprise 52% of its customer base.

Home Credit, as the market leader in the consumer finance sector, not only finds strength in numbers but in the strong connections it has made among stakeholders and consumers alike. In its 10th year in the Philippines, the company seeks to become a standard in the consumer finance industry with its commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction, and financial inclusion.

P&G Reinforces its Foothold on the Premium Baby Care Export Market in Asia

Trusted multinational consumer goods company Procter & Gamble (P&G) Philippines recently expanded its baby care export to Asia’s biggest players, Korea and Vietnam, as follow-through on the company’s Php 864 million investment in the Philippines.

“As our country moves on to economic recovery with the new leadership and administration, P&G is supporting this with our investments that promote superior manufacturing of products for export, job upskilling, and economic growth,” says P&G Philippines President and General Manager Raffy Fajardo.

The new Pampers export line will produce premium quality Pampers Pull Up Diaper Pants for export to Korea and Vietnam.

For DTI Secretary Fred Pascual, the manufacturing line can also be used as a stepping stone to further globalize the Philippine export industry citing the recently formalized participation of the Philippines in the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).

“As a Philippine-based manufacturer, P&G Philippines can leverage RCEP to enhance its access to the Asia-Pacific regional market, as well as its linkages to the global value chain. RCEP will make some production inputs more accessible, our exports more competitive, and manufacturing in the country less expensive. But as it stands, the new line will link the Philippines to the global value chain for manufacturing and distributing diapers across Asia,” says Pascual.

To date, P&G Philippines is exporting its superior hygiene, feminine care, baby care, and laundry detergents to nine countries in the Asia-Pacific region, with South Korea, Vietnam, Malaysia and Thailand on the roster.

The main machinery and equipment used for the new Pampers line is among the most advanced Pampers pants line in P&G across the globe. With this, P&G and DTI are anticipating not only creation of direct and indirect jobs but also the upskilling and re-skilling of workers with the technological skills and know-how required to work on the line.

DTI also mentioned that the new Pampers line supports their mission to facilitate a healthy business environment that enables trade and businesses to thrive.

“P&G Philippines’ investment is a testament to our country’s strong macroeconomic fundamentals and shows that our structural reforms are well-crafted and working toward facilitating investments. These pandemic shock absorbers (so to speak) caused the Philippine economy last year, 2022, to grow at the high rate of 7.6% GDP, the highest rate in over four decades,” says Pascual.

For over 87 years, and most especially during times of need, P&G has always been a Force for Growth and a Force for Good in the Philippines – serving the country through its superior trusted products that promote health and hygiene, and investments that help boost the economy and create jobs. In this new era of economic growth, P&G again demonstrated its commitment to be a nation-building partner that the country can count on.

Mommyki Launches One-Stop Mobile App for Pet Shops and Services

Pet owners now have an easier and more convenient way to buy all their pet needs from birth to rebirth through Mommyki The Super Pet App, the Philippines’ first-ever one-stop mobile application for everything about pets for their entire life cycle. It held its soft launch during the AnimalCon 2023 at the SMX Convention Center, Pasay City, last February 10 to 12, 2023.

The app is a virtual pet mall that allows buyers to avail of products and services from different merchants, suppliers, and service providers located in Metro Manila.

Currently, the platform, which caters to all pets in the animal kingdom, features pet shops but soon it will include pet grooming, breeders, sitters, trainers, funeral services, boutiques, parties, hotels, veterinarians, insurance and rescue organizations, among others.

It also has an in-app digital baby book for pets to help pet parents in storing information about their pets, and monitor vaccination and health check-up schedules.

The minimum viable product (MVP) or initial version of Mommyki® The Super Pet App can be downloaded from Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

Mommyki® The Super Pet App is a passion project of co-founders and couple Geoffrey Ogang, a finance director in a tech company, and Pebbles Sanchez-Ogang, a non-profit executive. The mobile app is named after Mommyki, the 14-year-old Yorkshire Terrier (Yorkie) dog of the co-founders’ family. The difficulty in finding products and services for Mommyki, especially when she departed in the middle of the pandemic, sparked the idea.

The co-founders are also open to partnership opportunities and investors.
