The Burger Project

I was recently invited to the Media Launch of The Burger Project. They have 2 branches now, one in Maginhawa and the othe can be found at the ground floor of The Grand Towers near La Salle.

While waiting for the others to arrive, they served us their authentic onion rings. I actually sent an SMS to FM because he lovesonion rings but only if served and cooked like this. It was pretty good in my opinion. It was real onion rings and it was cooked just right.

We eventually started and after the introduction, Chef Ed showed us how to order at The Burger Project. It seems that in The Burger Project, you can create your own burger. They give you options to choose from and then you can just create your own to your hearts content.

Below is my order form and while it was a lot of fun choosing what to order, it was also a bit worrisome and stressful. To save you from these kind of stress, they have6 signature burgers that are ready made and just ready to be ordered.

While waiting for my creation to be made, I ordered the mozarella sticks as well as the buffalo wings. The mozarella lacked a bit of "kick" so to speak but it was quite okay. The buffalo wings on the other hand was too spicy and hard for me.

Finally, my order came and I was appalled at how big it was. I ordered the triple patty and it was HUGE!

The angus beef, beef patty, and the chori patty were all tasty in their own way. I loved the beef patty the best. As for their milkshake, it was hands down the winner of the night. It was so good that I actually had 2 cups.

I enjoyed the media launch and battling it out with the burgers at The Burger Project. It was tasty and juicy. Thank you as well to TBP for giving us Php1200 worth of GC. My twin brothers were very happy.

a frown into a smile ...

I wasn't feeling too happy this morning. It was one bad thing after the other and I just felt so grumpy. FM spoke to me and told me that eventually I would smile. I told him that it would take a miracle to make me smile. An hour or so later, I saw that his facebook status read "Miracles do happen." I was baffled but I didn't pay much attention to it.

I went out to have lunch with a friend and when I got back, this is what greeted me at my desk.

I love you too my funny man. :) Thank you for making me smile.

One Pacific Place Serviced Residences

I was invited to attend the soft opening of One Pacific Place which happened to be a few stones throw away from my office. I said yes because of the location and because I was curious as to what a condotel has to offer.

One Pacific Place is conveniently situated at the heart of Makati's Central Business District. What I like about it is that it gives one easy access to business offices, banks, shopping malls, and it is just 10km away from Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

I was pretty impressed when I stepped into the lobby. It was spacious and not cramped. The flower arrangements were subtle and not in your face. The colors they used on the walls were welcoming and warm. It was classy but not too intimidating.

They also have this gorgeous 25 meter lap pool with a sunken bar and I simply fell in love with it. I can see B and K frolicking while FM and I lounge around. It was just so pretty.

I also liked that the pool wasn't too deep so one can swim without worry of drowning. As for the rooms, I like that it was cozy without being boring. The walls are painted white but because of the lighting, it comes off with a yellow glow and makes everything more intimate, stunning, and gives you a feeling of being wrapped in warmth.

You see what I mean? It's just so cozy and nice that it makes you want to flop down on the couch or bed and snuggle. I loved it!

Other amenities they offer are function rooms that can hold from a small group of 25 to a large party of 150. They also have a fitnesse gym with mezzanine, a children's play area, outdoor exercise stations, jogging path, and open deck with Wi-Fi! Amongst all these, the most important for me would be the play area and the Wi-Fi!

They also have a cafe called The Strand Cafe where they have an ongoing promo during lunch. For only Php399 net per person, you can eat to your hearts content. They serve sumptuous and delectable international cuisine. It's a great deal at only Php399.

Now, you don't need to take my word for it because I am giving away an overnight stay for two with complimentary breakfast at One Pacific Place. This package is worth more than Php7000 so take advantage of it.

Cheesecake

I've never been a fan of cheesecake. I'd take a bite here and there but I've never really been able to finish an entire slice much alone an entire cake or even half of it. However, when the Fet Boy actually made a classic cheesecake and chocolate cheesecake, I was forced to try it.

This is what he made.

Php1600 for the entire cake (12 slices)

Php1000 for heart shaped one
One bite and I was turned to being a cheesecake lover. It was oh so good. I actually had my coworkers try it and even they fell in love with it.

50 years ....

My Grandfather and Grandmother celebrated their 50 years of being together this year. We went to Cebu to witness them being married in church and here are some of the photos of that special time.

To witness true love was simply amazing.

blessings ...

I met him during a training in my previous work. He was nice and funny and we hit it off. One day while we were doing nothing, I decided to log in and update my blog. Apparently, he saw this and took note of it. What I didn't know was that afterwards, he soon became a regular reader of my blog. Maybe he saw something that was worth reading in it? Maybe he was just bored? Maybe he thought I could actually write and what I wrote made sense. I don't really know but he became a reader and I was honored.

He was one of the few regular readers of my blog that I knew personally and it just felt different. I felt good about it. I felt like someone actually values my blog and my writing. I felt valued.

One day he gave me a book because he found out that I love reading. A few months after he gave me another. A few months again, he gave me another one. I felt so happy. In return, I gave him a Livin' La Vida Imelda shirt. I hope he wore it.

I don't see him often now. I just see around twitter but I just want him to know that he is one of the blessings that I got from my blog. I may have met him through training but I feel that we got closer because of this blog.

I miss you dear. :)
