Why the ASUS Vivobook S16 S3607QA is the Perfect Back-to-School Laptop for My College Son

Back-to-school season always comes with a mix of excitement and stress — excitement because my son is now in his second year of college, and stress because every year, we need to ensure he has the right tools to help him survive (and thrive) in school.

This year, I finally found a laptop that makes me feel at peace knowing it’s fully equipped — the ASUS Vivobook S16 S3607QA. As a mom, my priorities are simple: I want something reliable, powerful, and practical for his daily grind. And this laptop? It delivers on all fronts.

1. Battery Life that Actually Lasts All Day

My son’s class runs from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM. That’s a full day of lectures, group work, and sometimes, last-minute video edits before a deadline. With our old laptop, we had to include “find a power outlet” in his daily schedule, which does not always happen and can be quite the hassle.

With the ASUS Vivobook S16’s impressive 32-hour battery life, that worry is gone. As long as he leaves home with it fully charged, he can get through the entire school day without having to lug around a bulky charger. That means one less thing in his already heavy backpack — and more time to focus on actual school work instead of hunting for a free socket in the library.

2. Big, Beautiful Screen for Creative Projects

One of the challenges in college now is that students aren’t just writing essays — they’re making videos, presentations, and digital projects. My son often edits class videos, and having a 16-inch display with such clear, vibrant visuals is a game-changer.

The big screen means he can see the finer details when editing, making his work faster and more precise. The clarity also helps when they’re doing research late at night, reading pages of text, or watching lecture replays. No more squinting, no more straining — just a crisp, comfortable viewing experience.

3. AI Capabilities that Save Time & Boost Learning

College students are masters of juggling multiple deadlines. The Vivobook S16’s AI capabilities give my son an extra edge — whether it’s summarizing long readings, helping brainstorm ideas for a project, or generating insights for his reports.

It doesn’t do the work for him, and it shouldn’t, but it shortens the research and drafting process, giving him more time to refine his ideas. It’s like having a smart study buddy who’s always ready to help, which, for a busy student, is priceless.

Final Mom Verdict
As a parent, I’ve learned that investing in the right tools pays off in peace of mind. The ASUS Vivobook S16 S3607QA isn’t just a laptop; it’s a reliable partner for my son’s academic journey.

It keeps him powered all day, makes his creative work easier, and helps him work smarter with AI features — three advantages that any student can benefit from, especially during the busy back-to-school season.

Knowing he’s well-equipped for the day ahead means I can breathe a little easier every morning. It means one less thing for me to worry about.

Best part? The Vivobook S16 comes bundled with the following: an ASUS Exclusive Backpack, lifetime access to Office Home 2024, a 1-month subscription to M365 Basic, and the ASUS Warranty.

They also have a Back-to-School 2025 campaign. ASUS is throwing in a stylish ASUS Marshmallow Mouse (MD100) worth PHP 1,795 until September 30, 2025, for free!

Finding the Perfect Balance: Why the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Mini Wireless Mouse Works for Both Mom Life and Gamer Kids

As a work-from-home mom juggling deadlines, Google Meet calls, and the occasional “Mom, the mouse isn’t working again!” meltdown, I’m always on the lookout for gadgets that deliver functionality, reliability, and value.

Enter the HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Mini Wireless Mouse — a mouthful to say, but oh, what a game-changer this tiny gadget has been for our home.

A Mouse That Works as Hard as You Do

Let’s be real — between school projects, online classes, and my own digital marketing tasks, our home setup has to do double (sometimes triple) duty. What caught my attention with the Pulsefire Haste 2 Mini wasn’t just the cool gamer aesthetic (which my son loved instantly), but the ultra-lightweight and compact build.

It’s 16% smaller than the standard version, making it ideal for smaller hands — perfect for kids, teens,  and surprisingly comfortable for adults too. I didn’t think I’d like the mini size at first, but it actually reduced wrist strain during long work sessions.

Wireless Freedom Without the Hassle

We’ve all experienced the chaos of tangled wires, especially when sharing a desk with a curious cat or a Lego-building child. The dual wireless feature (2.4GHz and Bluetooth) gave us total freedom to switch between devices — no unplugging, no drama.

Plus, with up to 100 hours of battery life, it’s one less thing to worry about charging in the middle of a busy week.

For School, Work… and Yes, Gaming

Let’s not pretend that when school is over, the kids jump straight into Minecraft or Roblox. The HyperX 26K Sensor offers precise tracking and response time, which my son swears “feels like winning.” I, on the other hand, appreciate the smooth skates and quiet clicks when I’m in a meeting and trying to multitask like a ninja.

Budget-Friendly Without Cutting Corners

As a mom, I don’t splurge unless something truly gives value — and this mouse does. It’s light on the pocket, especially for something that serves both serious work and serious play. No unnecessary frills, just solid performance.

And it’s built to last, rated for up to 100 million clicks. That’s a lot of school assignments and Google Docs.

The HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Mini Wireless surprised me. I bought it thinking it would be for my son’s online school setup, but ended up using it myself just as much. Whether you’re a mom managing your remote work life or a parent supporting your kids' learning (and gaming) needs, this mouse offers style, speed, and simplicity in one neat little package.

Sometimes, the smallest tools really do make the biggest difference.

The HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Mini Wireless Gaming Mouse is available in the Philippines for approximately ₱3,495.00. You can find it at retailers such as DataBlitz and GameXtreme.

Review of the Samsung Galaxy Buds 2 Pro

I have used the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro for over a month and am thoroughly impressed with their performance. The battery life is excellent, lasting at least 8 hours on a single charge. When you plug them into your ears, the surrounding sound is minimized by at least 50%, allowing you to focus on your music or call.

One of the standout features of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is the 24-bit Hi-Fi sound, which provides a truly immersive listening experience. The A.N.C. (active noise cancellation) technology, combined with the three high SNR microphones, eliminates exterior noise, allowing you to enjoy your music without distractions.

The ergonomic design of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro ensures that they are comfortable to wear for long periods. The Bora Purple color option is also a nice touch, adding style to the overall design.

In terms of features, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro offers 360 Audio, Intelligent A.N.C., and a perfect fit. The 360 Audio element surrounds you with sound, making you feel at the center of the action. The Intelligent A.N.C. automatically adjusts to your surroundings, providing optimal noise cancellation at all times. And the perfect fit ensures that the earbuds stay securely in place, even during intense workouts or other physical activities.

In addition to the excellent battery life, sound quality, and comfort, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro also offers seamless connectivity. Pairing the earbuds with your device is quick and easy, and once they are connected, the connection remains stable and reliable. This is great for listening to music or taking calls on the go, as you never have to worry about the earbuds disconnecting or losing the signal.

Another great feature of the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is the accompanying app, which allows you to customize your listening experience. With the app, you can adjust the equalizer settings to suit your preferences and access various sound modes, including Ambient Sound and Bass Boost. You can also use the app to control the earbuds' touch controls and access useful features, such as Find My Earbuds and earbud software updates.

In conclusion, the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro is a fantastic pair of earbuds that offer excellent battery life, high-quality sound, and a comfortable fit. Everything You Need to Know about YouTube Handles

Finally, YouTube handle is here! I can actually use my original handle for YouTube now!

YouTube will introduce handles to make it easier for community members to find and connect with each other. Your handle will be unique to your channel and will be how people mention you in comments, community posts, and more.

Here’s what you need to know:

YouTube is gradually rolling out the ability to choose a handle for all channels over the coming weeks. You will receive another email and a notification in YouTube Studio when you can choose yours.

In most cases, if you already have a personalized URL for your channel, we’ve reserved this for you as your handle. If you want a different handle from the one we’ve reserved, you can change it. If you don’t already have a personalized URL today, you’ll also be able to choose a handle for your channel.

Starting on November 14, 2022, if you haven’t yet selected a handle for your channel, YouTube will automatically assign you a handle, which you can change in YouTube Studio if you'd like.

Where will my handle appear?

We’re rolling out handles gradually to all channels over the next few weeks. Once it has been rolled out to all users, your handle will begin appearing in a few places across YouTube, including:

• The Shorts tab

• Search results

• Comments and mentions

In some places, we will start showing your handle alongside your channel name, such as your channel page. In the future, you may see your handle shown in even more places across YouTube.

Why can’t I choose my preferred handle?

A handle may not be available for several reasons. In most cases, it's either because another channel already selected that handle or it did not meet our handle selection guidelines. You can select one of the automatically generated handles provided by YouTube or choose another available handle.

I'm really hoping that I get to secure my standard handle. Fingers crossed!

Review of the Samsung Galaxy M53

I recently had the chance to do another phone review and this time, it's the Samsung Galaxy M53. This baby looks very unassuming but has 4 cameras which set the tone for everything and I can honestly say that I had high expectations for it.

So, let's talk about the basic specs. It has a 6.7 FHD+sAMOLED display which is pretty normal these days. The camera has a quad rear 108+8+2+2MP while the front camera has 32MP which makes taking a selfie super enjoyable.

The unit I got has 8+256GB memory and 5,000mAh. So far, one charge lasts me an entire day when I kept using it to film things. Definitely a plus in my book. The claim about the 25W Fast Charging is a little iffy for me though because it took a long time for the unit I had to charge or maybe it could have been that I got it drained of all juices which is why it took time.

I did a hyper-lapse on the Samsung Galaxy M53 and I've to say that I was pretty happy with the output. If you're interested in watching the 1 minute 30 seconds video, click here.

Action shots are pretty good on this camera as long as there's enough light.

It's more than okay though it's not as sharp as I prefer it to be. When it comes to food photos, it does the job.

For Macro shots, it's passable.

Overall, fans of Samsung would definitely go for this midrange phone. It's already available on Shopee so in case you want to check it out, here you go.

Review of the Portable Vacuum Cleaner for Laptops

I have a bad habit of eating while working. Since I do this, it's fair to say that there are food crumbs that get stuck on my laptop keyboard.  This is the same for when I journal, do my arts, or even diamond paint. The little things that fall off can be a hassle to pick up.

I first saw this on Shopee. I thought to myself, "does it really work? Can it really pick up the small pieces? Will this be worth my money?"

After thinking it over, I decided to give it a go.

Today, my son decided to tore an egg apart. He ate it and spat it out and proceeded to tear it into tiny little pieces and flung the parts on his crib. This would have been a nightmare to clean up but I remembered that I had this portable vacuum cleaner so I gave it a try.

It was perfect. It sucked up all the really tiny crumbs and I had an easy time cleaning up the crib.

I can't believe that it managed to get all of these small bits which would have been a nightmare if I had to pick it up with my hands. As you can see, it can also suck up even eraser bits and fallen hair.

I am so so happy with this purchase. It's definitely worth every peso spent.

You can buy your own here.

Pinned Post on Personal Facebook Profile

Yes, you read that correctly.

A pinned post is a super helpful tool used on both Twitter and Facebook Pages as well as Facebook Groups. When you need to announce something and you want to make sure that it does not get lost under a barrage of other posts, you can pin a post on your Twitter profile, Facebook Page, or Facebook Group as long as you are the admin for both.

However, this was not available to personal profiles on Facebook until recently.

As you can see, it shows that I have a PINNED post on my profile.  You just need to choose a certain post, right-click on the three dots, and click on pin post.

Easy peasy. So, what's your first pinned post on your personal profile going to be?

Review of the Nokia 3.4

Yes, Nokia has a new android phone and we had the chance to try it out. I was very excited to try it out because it's been a while since I reviewed a phone.

Appearance / Aesthetic

The Nokia 3.4 looks very sleek and classy. You will be proud to show this off and use it anywhere because the emerald green gives off an elegant vibe that makes it both fashionable and functional.

Function

This Nokia 3.4 is a great entry-level phone. This is good for elementary kids and high school students who need an android phone for their online class. This is good for Zoom calls, modules, and online learning.

Basic Photography

The Nokia 3.4 is great for day-to-day photography. If you just want something for your Facebook and Instagram, it can get the job done. Just don't use the zoom function too much because the photos can be blurry.

When you use the zoom function.

Gaming

The Nokia 3.4 can only handle basic gaming. It's not meant for high-end gaming such as Mobile Legends because it is an entry-level phone. However, if you're going to use it for games like Candy Crush, then you're good to go.

Final Thoughts

I would recommend the Nokia 3.4 to people who may have a limited budget but wants a semi-powerful phone. I would recommend the Nokia 3.4 to Moms and Dads who need an android phone for their kids to use for their modules. This way, the kids get to have a "tablet" and a phone all in one go.

Here's my unboxing video of the Nokia 3.4
