Kids need to do chores at home. This is something that I strongly believe in. Good thing that Samsung agrees with me on this and has found new and creative ways to get kids to be responsible at home.
As parents, raising children with the right values are essential for their character. Teaching kids the necessary values in life at a young age can be something that will pay off once they live their own lives, which every parent wants for their child.
Patience and understanding play a huge part in teaching these values to children. Although it is a long process, this is something that will pay off even in the long run. Here are some simple activities and tips on how to teach little ones (or not-so-little ones) with being responsible at home.
Children are very curious at a young age. This would be a good opportunity to educate them on how the day to day household chores work. For example, let them help sweep in the garden or water the plants in the morning. Another way is to ask for their help in preparing the toast when cooking sandwiches for breakfast. Make sure that appliances are kid-friendly and easy to use so they can easily learn and help out.
Using all-in-one appliances like Samsung Smart Oven can make meal preparation times easier. This appliance functions as a convection oven and a microwave that can be used for baking, grilling, slim frying, defrosting, steaming and even making yogurt, making it the perfect cooking appliance. It also has auto cook functions that can easily be navigated by kids when they want to cook simple snacks like french fries, onion rings, and frozen pan pizza.
Everyone has their own way of doing things, and this also applies to children. Teaching your kids different chores (no matter how small) at home will help them develop real-life skills that they can use later on in life. Guiding them with their everyday chores will make your kids feel capable, responsible, and confident. Instilling these values will make them feel part of the team and encourage them to be good citizens.
Samsung Digital Appliances has innovations that help create space that makes it easy for parents to instill the right values at home.

LRMC debuts 'feel at home' LRT-1 Christmas Train
LRT-1 private operator, Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC), spreads the holiday cheer yet again with its version of Christmas Train this year.
With the theme, “Christmas In Our Homes,” three light rail vehicles (LRVs) were adorned with three-dimensional decals to make the interior look and feel like traditional and modern Filipino homes.
"Christmas train is symbolic in many ways. It's symbolic that Christmas is already here and the spirit of joy and cheer, and a time for people to reunite with their friends and family is near. We thank our customers who ride the LRT-1 on a daily basis. We hope the decorations of our train delight you. It's our simple way of giving good riding experience and comfortable movement for the people," said Ayala Corporation Chairman and CEO and LRMC Vice Chairman Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala.
The LRT-1 Christmas Train launch featured surprise performances inside the train by renowned Filipino singer and songwriter, Jose Mari Chan, and young carolers from Children's Joy Foundation, Inc. OPM artists also serenaded passengers with heartfelt Christmas songs at the Central Terminal. Complimentary chocolates were distributed to LRT-1 passengers to complete their Christmas train ride experience.
LRMC President and CEO Juan Alfonso shared, “We are happy to continue the tradition. This is our fourth year of dressing up select LRT-1 trains for Christmas. It's part of our continued efforts to delight our passengers and give them an enjoyable experience, while we also work harder to improve train services for safe, reliable, and comfortable journey.”
The LRT-1 Christmas Train which showcases puzzle slides and other interactive wall activities will run until February 2020!

Bo's Coffee 2019 Planner
VIDEO
For the second time around, Bo's Coffee is joining the planner game and this year, they aim to be one of the better options out there.
We've already reviewed the Coffee Project Planner, the Starbucks Planner, and the Mercury Daybook. It's now time to have a look if the Bo's Coffee Project Planner can hold a candle against the rest.
The Bo's Coffee Planner comes in two designs, both of which are hardbound. I like that it's sturdy, I hate that it's designed for Christmas. Imagine pulling this out during summer and it' still Christmas feels. EHHHHH????
There is no way to easily brand the planner too. There's no "This book /planner/notebook belongs to" section which I found a bit odd. There's no in case of emergency or anything that is normally found inside a planner.
I did like the part where it's not dated so you can use this any year which if I actually get to own one of this, will most likely be what will happen.
It comes with 3 sections: weekly, monthly, and then an annual overview. It's great for bullet journaling because of the boxes. It provides ample area for notes, doodling, and pasting of things to remember a day by.
The back part of the planner shows off a part of the Philippine flag which is the sun and that's the main highlight of it. The way to earn this planner is by spending Php3,000 pesos. You also need to download the app and then earn points. 1 point for every Php100 spent. This can be either food consumption or drinks.
It's a little tedious though coz you need to have the app, then you need to register, input the price, and then input the OR number. GAH!!!!
Oh, and you can only earn points till December 31, 2019.
Will I actually collect this planner? I won't say that I'll work hard on getting this. If I actually end up at Bo's Coffee, I'll get what points I can but Php3000 is TOO MUCH for a planner unless you're a regular Bo's Coffee drinker.
The process of earning points is also more tedious than getting stickers. The design leaves a lot to be desired but the content and layout inside is something that I really like. I'm conflicted.
What are your thoughts on this?

Pregnancy Woes
Since I got pregnant again after 14 years, I have experienced different kinds of pains in my body. I never realized that pregnancy takes a toll on you especially when you are no longer young. When I look back to my first pregnancy, I can't really remember having so many pains but then again, I was a young and thin 24-year-old girl. Lithe, fit, and at the height of my youth.
I am now 39, not so fit, not so lithe, and definitely not at the height of my youth.
1. BODY PAINS
Since I am no longer as flexible as I used to be, I now wake up with aches and pains all over, specifically lower back pain, legs, and thighs. However, even with all these, I need to walk more and be more active to ensure that I will have a normal delivery.
2. MUSCLE TENSION
Every muscle in my body has made its presence known. The constant tension of ensuring the baby is okay while going about things has given me the feeling of always being tired and having my muscles needing a massage that I am not yet allowed to have.
3. FALLS
When you can no longer see the floor when you look down, this is bound to happen. Sadly, no matter how careful I was, my clumsiness won and I tripped down a pavement. It was painful but I'm grateful because my knee saved my baby. Whew.
4. BURP
Yes, I constantly burp especially when evening arrives. It's a constant cacophony of a burp, burp, burrrrpppp, BURP, burrrrrpppppppppppp and more burp. It's disgusting really and the feeling of throwing up is always present though thankfully it never happens.
5. SWOLLEN FEET
Sometimes, I try to see my feet and I am appalled. It is no longer my normal feet but some form of swollen sausage that looked a bit like my feet. It's really most disconcerting.
In spite of all of this, I am grateful that God chose M and I to be given this gift. It will be a challenge but it is also a blessing that we are most grateful for.

waking up on the wrong side
Today, I woke up smiling and in the next minute, I was in rage.
Yes, it was that kind of a day.
It was a bad day ... a bad moment really and because I wasn't able to control my emotions, it turned into an awful moment and then it became hurtful words and sadly, a bad morning.
I hate feeling out of control. I hate it when I lash out especially when it's my son involved. I hate giving sermons in the morning because who wants to start their day on a bad note? I know my son never liked it and I can't blame him.
I HATE IT TOO.
I talked with M and he said that I just need to control myself better. If it were that easy, wouldn't I have done it already?
I hate this feeling. I hate feeling out of sorts.
I hope I can make it up to my son later this week. I hope that even when I have bad moments like today, he knows, understands, and believes that I love him more than anything in this world and I just want what's best for him. I may not be able to relate it in the best manner possible but I hope he knows that everything that I do, it's all for him.
I really hope he sees that.
How about you Moms and Dads? Ever experience moments like this?

AVON's #SpeakOutListenUp Campaign against gender-based Violence
It was the classic Stockholm syndrome.
BUT ...
When it does, it's time to Speak Out and it's time for people to Listen Up. Here's my story for those who may be interested to know. Here is a list as well of 5 Red Flags a Woman Needs to Watch Out for.
Back in March, Avon launched a campaign to End Violence Against Women. This time around, Avon goes orange to spark conversations on violence against women and girls from November 25 to December 10. The Philippines is one of the most dangerous places for women in Asia. It's a country where rape happens every 72 minutes, and at least 1 in 20 women aged 15 to 49 experienced sexual violence. Of all Filipinas who have been harassed, half of them took no action. It's a grim reality that stories about gender-based violence is often ignored ridiculed, or discredited.
As a strong advocate for women, Avon Philippines is rallying behind UN Women's 16 Days #SpeakOutListenUp campaign to encourage victims and survivors to speak out and share their stories and urge everyone to listen up.
For 16 days, orange has been chosen as a symbol of a brighter future where women won't fear violence in their own homes, on the streets, or online. Since adapting the color is one way to show solidarity with women all over the world, Avon is going orange across its social media platforms from November 25 (UN's International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women) to December 10 (Human Rights Day).
This way, the company can amplify the message, spark conversations, and raise awareness on different forms of violence that prevent women from reaching their full potential as well as the many ways they can protect themselves and report instances of abuse.
As part of its efforts for the 16 Days of Activism, Avon partnered with World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS) to ensure more women and girls are able to identify gender-based violence and identify resources to safely seek help. The partnership launches a new training and awareness program for Avon Representatives and girl scouts in the Philippines as well as in Argentina and South Africa.
For over 130 years, Only Avon has been steadfast in its mission to empower women everywhere. The first step to empowering women is to make sure they live happy, healthy lives. This cannot be achieved without ensuring their safety. That's why Avon has a strong legacy of championing programs that help in the promise of putting an end to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), contributing more than $65 million globally to women-centered organizations like Malala Fund and Vital Voices.
In the Philippines, Avon has constantly been collaborating with and making donations to Women's Care Center, Inc. in Manila, Inang Makabayan Aksyon Foundation in Pampanga, Gender Watch Against Violence and Exploitation (GWAVE) in Dumaguete; and Luna Legal Resource Center for Women in Davao to further the cause.

Update on YES Samgyupsal
I had the chance to review YES SAMGYUPSAL back in February.
I remembered that my family and I loved the place because they served really quality meat and their price is quite reasonable.
9 months later, I did wonder, would the quality still be the same?
M and I ordered the samgyupsal set. This set costs Php399 during lunch and then during dinner, it cots Php499 because aside from the samgyupsal, they also have a dinner buffet available.
The meat they served is still of good quality. We had the bulgogi which was really good, the pork strips, beef strips, and the marinated ones. They were all sooo good.
If I wasn't being on a restrictive diet, I would have eaten a lot more but sadly, I had to cut down on rice so I just made do with lettuce wraps.
I must have finished two servings of this all by myself.
I also ate at least 4 plates of the sweet potato balls. This is actually my favorite of all the side dishes so when a Korean place has it, I'm just really happy.
M and I finished one entire set of the samgyupsal. I loved that they now added shrimp, soup, and steamed egg with it. It makes everything worth it even more. Truly bang for buck.
I'm glad that in almost one year of operations, they have been able to maintain the quality of their food. I loved it the first time I went to visit and I am still loving them now.
YES Samgyupsal is located at 225 Aguirre Street in BF Homes, Paranaque.

Healthy Gifts to Give with Healthy Options
It's the most wonderful time of the year and during these times, festivities and parties abound left and right. Along with this, the choice to indulge is strong which could lead to a lot of unhealthy options. Thankfully, Healthy Options has choice items that you can buy and gift to your loved ones ensuring that you are not only giving them something for them to enjoy, but you are giving them something healthy to help them live longer and be stronger.
For teenagers:
Healthy Options offers different chips that taste really good but are healthier compared to their regular counterparts. The PopCorners White Cheddar is absolutely perfect for an afternoon snack while the Kettle Style Sea Salt is perfect for movie nights. The Cheddar Clouds is definitely something that kids would want in their lunch box.
For your best friend / Mom / Sister:
There is a lot of makeup available nowadays. However, not all makeup is actually safe to be used since some of them contain really harsh chemicals. Healthy Options offers Mineral Fusion which is 100% Vegan.
This lip gloss is infused with antioxidant-rich White Tea, Red Tea, and Pomegranate plus Vitamin C to protect delicate lips against free radical damage. It has a luminous color that glides on lips with a smooth, ultra-glossy finish. Made with Sunflower Seed Oil and Vitamin E, it nourishes the lips to keep it soft and supple. It's gluten-free, vegan, cruelty-free, paraben-free, artificial color free, talc-free, hypoallergenic, and phthalate free.
For the seniors or the forgetful Dad
Ginkgo Biloba is my holy grail when I wasn't pregnant yet. I would take two capsules because I tend to be forgetful. It really helps my brain function better.
Now I make sure that my son and M drink 2 capsules a day because they are also both forgetful. Ginkgo is most commonly known for being a stimulant of the brain and is often used for age-related memory loss. This supplement contains no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives; no wheat, gluten, milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, crustacean shellfish or fish. It's also suitable for vegans.
For the stressed and insomniacs:
This Aura Cacia Roll-On Lavender Oil is heaven-sent. I took a whiff and I was instantly relaxed. After all, Lavander is truly meant to relax and help you get ready to sleep so if you have friends or family members who are always on the edge and ready to snap, this soothing roll-on should help calm them down.
Pre-blended in the apricot kernel and Vitamin E, this roll-on essential oil bottle contains the soft, soothing and floral aroma of lavender that helps to calm and relax your mind and body. You can apply this lavender roll-on stick to your sternum, temples, wrists, and nape of the neck to help soothe your senses. It's also a great tool to help relax before going to bed — simply apply to your pulse points before you hit the pillow to help calm yourself.
For the kids and kids at heart:
Almost everyone I know loves chocolate mint. If you know someone like that, this protein bar that comes in chocolate mint would be perfect. Healthy yet tasty, what more can you ask for?
High protein, low fat, vegan, gluten-free, certified Kosher, antioxidant-rich, non-GMO. This also comes in chocolate coconut, chocolate chip, chocolate crunch, mint chocolate chip, mocha chocolate, dark peanut butter.
You can definitely snack without the guilt.
Christmas festivities may now be upon us but it doesn't mean that we can just let go and indulge on unhealthy things. Choose the gift of healthy giving to your friends and loved ones to help them lead healthier and longer lives.

Ellana Liquid Lipstick
I recently encountered a brand called Elana. I had no idea about it but I saw that people flocked to the booth so my curiousity was piqued.
These are the two shades that I got. One was pink and the other a deep red.
This is how the applicator looks like.
This is what the swatches look like.
This is how thick the formula is. The second time I dabbed and there's still a lot that the tissue got.
This is how the red looks on my Mom.
This is how the pink looks like on me. I love it. It wasn't too drying. It stayed for hours on end. It was also easy to take off once I used petroleum jelly.
I'd definitely try out more of the Ellana products should I be given the chance again. It's definitely worth a try.

Panda Hotpot
If someone were to ask me what was the most significant thing about Panda Hotpot, I would say it was the 1.5 hour quest to look for the building parking lot.
Yes, it took us 1.5 hours to look for the building parking lot and it was only because I am pregnant that we were even allowed to all go up. Apparently, the building where Panda Hotpot is located only allows drivers to go up with the car. If I wasn't pregnant, we'd have to go around again and be dropped off.
It wasn't a good impression. In fact, by the time we sat down and started to order, I was ready to flip.
Luckily, the food was pretty cheap, the serving big, and the soup was fantastic.
This plate is only Php499 if I remember it correctly.
They also give complimentary beef slices with this order.
We also ordered lobster ball which was 8 pcs at Php200+. It's a little steep but worth it because the lobster ball wasn't small.
Our group got over the initial irritation and rage we felt but please note that it's better to drop off passengers in front of Panda Hotpot. The parking lot is located before the building though so you'd need to go around once more if you have someone with you.
Is it worth the visit? I would say not really. There are other hotpot places with better parking and that comes with the same taste. Maybe if you're in the area, then it's fine to give it a try. If you're going to the area just to visit this hotpot place, I'd have to say it's not worth the hassle.
