Shrimp Shack

I am in love with shrimps. Okay, not that kind of shrimp but an actual shrimp, like the seafood. I can eat it the whole day and actually every single day. As long as it is fresh and cooked just right, I can consume vast amounts of shrimp.

According to WHFoods: "Shrimp are an unusually concentrated source of the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory nutrient called astaxanthin. It's not unusual for a single 4-ounce serving of shrimp to contain 4 milligrams of astaxanthin. Astaxanthin is a carotenoid that is receiving special attention in the latest health research, primarily for its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Release of inflammatory messaging molecules (like tumor necrosis factor alpha and interleukin 1B) is suppressed by astaxanthin, and so is unwanted oxidation of fats in immune cells."

Now that I have justified my love for shrimp, you can understand why I said yes when I was invited to try Shrimp Shack. The name itself made me giggle with happiness.

So, here are some of the things that made an impression of me. This is the shrimp popcorn. I love that even if it took almost 10 minutes before I was able to get a bite, it was still crunchy. I didn't even have to dip the shrimp popcorn because it was very tasty already on its own.

This one I have to admit I finished 3/4 on my own. It was just too good. The tomato and cheese fondue was just overwhelmingly good. I kept telling myself one last bite until I finished everything.

The Shrimp Po-boy Sandwich was another winner for me. A shrimp sandwich is something I cannot resist and this shrimp sandwich made it very hard for me to resist it.

Now with this one, it was quite a challenge but then again, they did say, SUCK, PEEL, EAT. The reason why this one has its shells is because you have to suck the entire shrimp then peel, before you eat it. This garlic shrimp scampi is full of flavor and a definite must for shrimp lovers out there.

It was a shrimpy kind of day and I am so glad that I now have a place to go to when I crave shrimps. It they had shrimp bisque, everything would be perfect.
