Review: Zenfone 5

Last April, I was praying for a new phone. Thankfully, my prayers were answered and I got my hands on the Zenfone 5.

At first glance, I was a little bit wary. After all, my Zenfone 3 Zoom was able to give me everything that I needed from a phone but after almost 2 years of use, misuse, abuse, and overuse, the camera was conking out a little and I couldn't have that.

I've been using the Zenfone 5 for over a month now and I am truly happy with it. It's my go to phone for events coverage and documentation of everything in my life. It takes wonderful photos and when used correctly, it even takes really good photos under dim lights.

Here are some sample shots I took to show you how amazing it is.

Action Shots are not perfect but they are pretty good for a phone that doesn't go beyond Php20,000. The first photo was taken during the DisneyLife media launch. Elsa kept twirling around so I was really happy to get this shot.

The next photo was taken during the Crimson Kapampangan Media Launch. They had people performing folk dances and I have always wanted to capture the jumps. The legs are not that clear coz they were up and about but the fact that it is only the legs which are blurry is more than good enough for me.

The Zenfone 5 also takes good photos under dim lights. Both photos were taken at night, inside a car, with PRO settings only.

I also love the pop of color that the Zenfone 5 captures.

Most of all, I love the selfie camera of the Zenfone 5 because it is not automatically set to beautification. I don't end up looking like a cartoon or an emoji. This is really important to me because in a world with so many fakes, I don't want my selfie to be one of those.

The Zenfone 5 is your all in one phone that won't break the budget. It gives you more juice than an ordinary phone and it is definitely bang for your buck because the tag price is only at less than Php20,000.

This phone is perfect for selfie lovers who do more than just take selfies. Travellers, everyday office workers, budding YouTubers, and every one who values their money and is looking for a phone that can deliver your basic needs and more should get the Zenfone 5. Pair it with the ASUS ZenPower 10050C and you're good to go.
