Il Ponticello

Last night was the first ever Couple's Eats a Date and it happened at Il Ponticello. Luckily, FM made time to attend this with me. Aside from us, there were two other couples that night which set the mood for a more intimate dinner.

Dinner started with Formaggio Fondente which was oven baked spinach, tomatoes, and mozarella served with garlic crostini. A plate of this costs Php230. This was actually pretty good but you need to remember to combine the tomatoes and the spinach or else it would be a failure.

After a lull, the pizza and the pasta were served. First to arrive was the Picante Pizza which was made of salami and arugula. An order of this cost Php290. This was really good and I loved the mix of the arugula with the cheese. The only downer was that our table was directly hit by the blast of the aircon. It had the pizza cold in less than 5 minutes which compromised the taste. FM had to have it reheated for him to really enjoy it.

Next came the Asparagina Parmense which cost Php360. This is made of parma ham and asparagus spears in a light asparagus cream sauce. This for me was the hands down winner of the night. FM did not like it because it was too creamy but for me, it was just right.

The last meal for the night was the Polpette all Siciliana which was meatballs and mozarella over tomato fettucine. This cost Php375. Frankly, it was just ordinary pasta with meatballs. I am not a fan.

Finally, dessert and coffee was served. We had the panna cotta which was Php210 and made of baked cream with fresh fruits. We also had the Torta Al Formaggio which was  the traditional cheesecake topped with berries. This cost Php200.

As for the coffee, it was pretty so-so. The more fun part was choosing what kind of coffee to get because there were over 5 variants.

Overall, it was a pretty okay dinner and I enjoyed it because FM was there. Good food plus great company = happy me.

* I was invited to review the food. I did not pay for my meal. However, the free meal did not in any way sway my opinion and everything you read here is MY PERSONAL OPINION.
