I read on Facebook that the National Museum was allowing people to get in for free for the entire month of October in celebration of Museums and Galleries Month . Since I have been wanting to go to National Museum for quite some time now, I saw this as a sign that I should not ignore.
1. It's FREE!
2. They are temporarily allowing DSLR's to be used inside. Eeekkk!
Of course, there were a few reminders that needed to be met and here they are. Please adhere to them esp the no touching and no flash photography. I took it upon myself to remind other people and reprimand those who were stupid and abusive. I am referring to those who still uses flash eventhough they have been told not to. For me, those people are stupid and should have been thrown out of the museum.
When we got there yesterday, we were lucky enough to park right in front of the museum. I took it as a god sign because it was just about to drizzle and seriously, a parking right in front of the steps of the museum? Wow!
When we went inside, what I saw left me breathless.
The structure, the paintings, the sculptures were all so amazing. I'm actually going to do a separate posts on the paintings I liked the most because I feel that it deserves to have one.
The Spolarium was simply AMAZING. It leaves you feeling small and breathless. It makes you feel the pain of the people in the painting and yet, you are so grateful that it was actually captured by the painter.
It is AWESOME!
Please visit the National Museum and show support and appreciation for this fine institution that helps preserve these timeless treatures.

DeleteI was in College (4th year) when we visited National Museum. A very interesting place to visit to know more about Filipinos' rich cultures and traditions.
ReplyDeleteFor the love of art, museums are a must.. I really just wonder why flashes are not allowed to be used inside, and even tripods...
ReplyDeleteFlashes have effects on paintings ... they can accelarate deteioration. As for tripods, it could injure other people or worse, fall on the painting and ruin it forever.
