goodbye old canon ixus

This was one of the first purchases that I made after I left someone who did not treat me like I was a person. It was a liberating feeling, being able to buy something for myself after depriving myself of every single luxury for 4 years because this person made me feel like I didn't have the right to get myself anything while getting everything for himself.

This camera has been with me for the last 6 years and it has captured every single moment of my journey into being a single mother. It has been there to capture the moments of friendships formed, friendships broken, love born and love lost, as well as hits and misses with being a Mom and the small accomplishments I have being a Mom and Dad to my son.

This camera is also the same tool that I use for my blogging and it has helped me evolve into a better food photographer. It's been what I use to take photos of events and its also what I use to document the moments that my blog has blessed me with.

Thank you to my old Canon Ixus. We had a really good run.

  1. What camera are you using now? Where will this Canon digicam go to next?

    1. It went to my brother. I'm using a Canon Ixus as well but a higher model. I won it at an event.

  2. I also have fond memories with my first digicam which happens to be a Canon as well. I even blogged about it and won the contest sponsored by Canon. I'm sure you'll have better and bigger ones with your new camera. :)

    1. I'm sure I will ... it will see me grow as a person, a Mom, and as a woman.

  3. Very personal post this one about a possession associated with a very personal event in your life. We bloggers all have our favorite first camera. My old Samsung is still working but is already showing signs of age, like the zoom won't hold. I think I have to move on too one of these days.

  4. It's hard to say goodbye to things that you're already attached to. I'm sure your old canon ixus is replaced by a better camera!

  5. It's hardest to say goodbye to gadgets that have been there during special moments. I too am contemplating on replacing my laptop. But at least you can start new ones with a new camera :)

Hi! Let's all try to add more positivity in this world and adhere to the saying, "if you don't have anything nice to say, keep silent."

Showering you with unicorn poop so you'd always stay magical! Heart heart!
