Simple Lang

I have to admit that I had a bias against Simple Lang because I have dined here once before and it really wasn't memorable or outstanding in any way. I also remember that the staff were a bit too friendly in my opinion at that time and since I was having a not so good day, I didn't appreciate it.

Luckily, my opinion changed after visiting it a 2nd time.

I love the interiors of Simple Lang. The red outline paired with the wooden furniture gives it a cozy vibe. It felt a bit country and shabby chic for me but again, that's just me.

Some of the food items that changed my mind were the Grilled Stuffed Bangus. Personally, I don't like Bangus because I feel that this fish really does not want to be eaten, hence, its very many fishbones but when its boneless and topped with tomato and what not, its heaven in every bite. Truth be told, I finished half of this fish. Thankfully, my co-bloggers did not want it as much as the other food so it was okay for me to eat half of it.

This Crispy Pork Chop Chop Dinakdakan was a different matter all together. Everyone wanted a piece of it and when I tasted a few slices, I understood why. It's one of those dishes that would have been absolutely perfect with rice and rice and rice and rice and a lot more rice.

The Mixed BBQ Plate was another item to welcome from Simple Lang because it combined all the comfort food you can think of that is grilled and served skewered on a stick. I personally loved the squid and the chicken bbq, the pork not so much.

The Inasal Rice was the perfect partner for all of these viands and they ribbed me about the fact that I ate 1/4 of this plate of rice. I couldn't help it. It was just the right partner for everything else that I had on my plate.

Lastly, the Sinigang na Crispy Bagnet with Watermelon was the perfect topper for the night. Sour and sweet all at the same time, it gave the perfect "kilig" to an awesome dinner.

Definitely, Simple Lang is anything but simple.

Comfort food with a twist. This is what Simple Lang is all about. Do not let the name fool you as it did me before. I'm glad to say that simple lang is anything but simple lang.

* I was invited to review the food. I did not pay for my meal. However, the free meal did not in any way sway my opinion and everything you read here is MY PERSONAL OPINION.
