God of Carnage

It was raining cats and dogs. It was raining like there was no tomorrow. It seemed that even with tickets to the play, we might not be able to watch it. It seemed that even with tickets, they might cancel the play.

I checked and was told that as with anything related to entertainment, the show must go on. Since FM knew I really wanted to watch this, he said, we will go on as well.

Off we trooped amidst the pouring rain and was lucky to have not encountered traffic. Lucky, or maybe we were just few of the crazy ones to brave the rain.

The show was witty, hilarious, and simply brilliant. I loved the volley of lines and the wonderful timing of the actors. I loved how Lea Salonga could actually look all normal and wife-ish.  I loved how Melu was a blast at being a drunk and how she can lose poise but still looked put together.

I loved the moment when she threw the mobile into the water. It was the highlight for me. The entire house just exploded in laughter.

After the show, FM waited with me for the actors to have my photo taken with them. I was very happy that Miss Lea was very accommodating and oh so down to earth.

Melu was also very nice. I loved her in Next to Normal and I loved her in God of Carnage.

There were some challenges in watching this play but I'm glad that at the end of the night, everything worked out well for all of us. I'm glad that FM and I got to watch this together.

  3. Glad to meet another theater lover here on the net! Since you can't comment on my Multiply, here is an article I wrote (not on Multiply) about God of Carnage: http://bit.ly/Pyx5yz. What do you think?

  4. Leah is definitely our Country's pride and I was able to watch her in Miss Saigon several years ago and she was good. Make that more than 10 years ago. It's good that she still takes time to perform here.
