It was a night filled with art, fashion, and glamour. If you did not know what was happening, you would think that it was an art show combined with a fashion show. You wouldn't think that it was the launch of a new phone much less the launch of the new Samsung S6 and Samsung S6 Edge. However, the people behind Samsung realized and saw the potential to create a phone that is not just a phone but also a work of art. Hence, the S6 and S6Edge came to life and this is going to be the first time that I can say I have fallen in love with a phone.

It is sleek, light, and it is fast. It has everything that I need in a phone and I need a lot from a phone since I am a social media manager. I need it to be fast and respond instantly when I press on something. I need it to capture photos immediately since I need to capture moments in a snap to post and promote online. I need the audio to be crisp so that I can easily record and transcribe interviews. I also need for the screen to be the best because I spend a lot of my waking time looking at it.

The S6 and S6Edge are able to handle all of my needs. This is why it has now gone to my list of things that I need to have. The S6 Edge is simply stunning. I want the Emerald Green one because it just looks so elegant. Sigh.

Attended by Manila’s fashion-forward clique, Samsung hosted an exclusive sartorial event entitled S Carpet: Art & Fashion last April 17, 2015 at the Mega Fashion Hall of SM Mega Mall to unveil the Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 edge, and showcase the fashion & art collaborations.

World-renowned Filipino glass sculptor Ramon Orlina created an exclusive collection of six finely-crafted glass sculptures inspired by the world’s first curved dual-edge screen on the Galaxy S6 edge—with each one also corresponding to the five colors of the latest Galaxy S line. Aside from Orlina, leading industry jeweler Marilou Co of Marilou Jewellery, created the world’s most precious Galaxy S6 case adorned with 60 brilliant diamonds set beautifully on a luxurious bed of 18k yellow and white gold. Such is only fitting for what is touted to be “the best phone in the world,” highlighting the premium quality of the Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 edge.

At the forefront of fashion, the Fashion & Design Council of the Philippines (FDCP), the country’s premier fashion design organization composed of veterans, as well as fresh leading-edge talent also glean inspiration from the all-new Galaxy S6 series. These fashion artistes marry their visionary design with the myriad of elegant colors of the Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 edge, creating a cohesive collection of couture pieces.

Creating silhouettes in mysterious black, veterans Randy Ortiz, Jojie Lloren, Albert Andrada, and Joey Samson are flanked by the likes of new fashion gems Kristel Yulo and Edwin Ao, and accessories designer Malou Araneta to highlight the Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 edge in rich Black Sapphire. 

 Creating masterpieces that showcase the Galaxy S6 & Galaxy S6 edge in elegant Gold Platinum, style visionaries OJ Hofer, Joyce Makitalo, Ivarluski Aseron, Len Nepomuceno-Martel, PJ Arañador, and Gerry Katigbak, together with shoe designer Joey Enriquez give their take, producing metallic pieces rendered in next-level sophistication.

For a pop of sophistication, the pieces created by Pablo Cabahug, JC Buendia, Avel Bacudio, Hindy Weber-Tantoco, Frederick Peralta, and Jerome Ang, adorned by accessories created by Amina Aranaz-Alunan all drew inspiration from the Green Emerald Galaxy S6 edge. 

 On the other hand, fashion artistes Joel Escober, Ramon Esteban, James Reyes, Happy Andrada, and Vittorio Barba crafted couture creations inspired by the Galaxy S6 in brilliant Blue Topaz. Their pieces were duly adorned with accessories by Gerry Sunga in the same cool palette.

Finally, with the White Pearl Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge as a spectrum peg, industry leads Rajo Laurel and Anthony Nocom, together with fashion talents like Arcy Gayatin, Ronaldo Arnaldo, Noel Crisostomo, Dong Omaga-Diaz, and shoe designer Maco Custodio create crisp clean lines and curves in both immaculate white and iridescent pearl versions.

Samsung’s Brand Believers

It seems that aside from the mentioned fashion visionaries, more and more people want to be in on Samsung’s “next is now” movement as well. Because of the brand’s unparalleled history of innovation in smartphone technology, the band of Samsung brand believers is growing exponentially.
