40 Years of Mega Sardines

Whenever it would rain before, one of the go to food that we would have at home was MEGA sardines. It was easy to open, we would just add calamansi, and ta-da! We had awesome food. Yes, I consider canned sardines poured over hot steaming rice AWESOME.

It's comfort food for me. It reminds me of the times that we have typhoons and we have no light but my family and I would gather around and eat using candlelight. Hot rice and sardines with calamansi are just perfect for this kind of set up.

Sometimes when I am too lazy, I just open a can when I get home, heat it up, toss it on top of rice, and voila. Hearty meal.

Lately though, my favorite brand of sardines has decided to take things to a whole new level by coming up with new products and new flavors. One of my favorite are the premium lines which I have previously reviewed when someone gave me an entire set.

This time around, they also launched their new Bagoong, Spanish sardines, and Alamang. These are my favorite because they are simply oh so good. I can just combine the Bagoong or Alamang with rice and its already perfect.



The anniversary party was held at EDSA Shangri-la. It was a strictly formal event and it felt pretty good to dress up.
