Going Down Memory Lane

I was a child born in the 80's. That makes me feel ancient ( no offense to those born in the 50's, 60's and 70's.) I'm sure you understand my sentiments. In a few days, I'm turning 26 which for me marks a whole new quarter in my life.

Yes, I did go through the so-called quarter life crisis. Yes, I spent way too much. I thought I was all that when I became a yuppie. But I learned my lesson, and I grew up, eventhough I didn't want to. Peter Pan syndrome I believe.

So as a tribute to the 80's and 90's which marks the heyday of my growing years ... I give you some of the music, films, and stuff I fell in love with during that time.

Bon Jovi - I even watched the concert here amidst the typhoon and muddy location. My Mom still hasn't forgiven me for dragging her to it. Lol! I loved them so much. I memorized all their songs and would belt my heart out with my best friend, Hazel.

Aerosmith - I had a lesbo moment coz of Alicia Silverstone. She was just so hot in their videos, especially Crazy. I'd even imitate her in front of the mirror in my room. Shhhh ... that's our lil secret okay? Teehee.

Gun's and Roses - My other best friend at that time was in love with them. Ergo, I was forced to love them. Sooner, I did. We'd sing this while eating fishballs and kikiam. I never did get how to whistle the intro to Patience but I sure tried.

Dirty Dancing - I will always love Johnny and Baby. Remember, "Nobody puts Baby in a corner." Ever. Sigh ...

Some cartoons I loved: Thundercats, Bioman, Shaider, Care Bears, Ewoks, Smurfs, Rainbow Brite, He-Man, and She-ra.

I was also into Dawsons Creek back then. To the point that I had all their transcript printed out. And the DVD of all seasons. Now, they show it on cable dubbed in Japanese. Huwaaaaaa!!!! =(

Sigh. The good ol' days.
