Zenfone 5Q Review

Sometimes, you just need a phone that functions the way you need all phones to function. You need one that will meet your basic needs and you need one that will not put a dent in your budget or worse, break a hole in your wallet. This is where the Zenfone 5Q comes in.

For daily use, I feel that the Zenfone 5Q is more than enough for someone who requires just average use of the phone. Basic needs are all met but this phone also offers a bit more so don't think that it's nothing special coz it actually is.

The Zenfone 5Q comes with all the average features that is expected from a midrange smartphone launched this 2018. 6-inch FHD+ IPS display on the front and is covered by a 2.5D curved glass. It also comes with 4 cameras which ensures that no matter what angle you are aiming for, the Zenfone 5Q can deliver front and back.

Battery life is average. On full data usage, the battery lasts around 6 hours then I need to use my powerbank. For someone like me, this can be a bit of a hassle but it does make up for it's quick charge capability.

Overall look and weight of the phone is quite impressive. For something so affordable, it gives off a premium feel and looks expensive so you won't be ashamed to show it off even during business meetings.

Now for the most important part. The camera. I was able to take some sample shots and here's what I thought of them.

For color, the Zenfone 5Q brings out the warm tones so if you're into Instagram and mobile photography, this phone can handle that for you and you won't need to do major edits on your gram.

This phone however is not a good option if you are trying to take an action photo coz as you can see below, it came out pretty blurry. Perhaps pausing for a second or two to take the shot would be the better option.

For night shots, these are the results. I'm not too happy with it but some of my friends said that it added more drama.

For food photos, it does the job though it could do a bit more for me. Then again, I'm quite picky when it comes to food photos. I want my food to pop out more.

For selfies and groufies, this gets a thumbs up coz of the wide angle and clarity.

WIDE ANGLE SHOT

Overall, I'd recommend this for college kids, yuppies, and the average traveller who is not overly obsessed with their feed. As I said, it doesn't break the bank and it does the job of a midrange phone. As long as you are not looking for a super phone, the Zenfone 5Qone is definitely a good option. If you want more, then get the Zenfone 5 or Zenfone 5Z.
