forget me not

forget me not
when I am gone
forget me
when I can no longer make you smile
when you hear the sound of my voice
and you can't think of anything to say

forget me not
when I am dead
forget me
when I can no longer make you feel safe
when I say I care
and all you hear is I hate

forget me not
when I am away
forget me
when you can no longer see me in your future
when you envision one without me
and it is a much nicer place

forget me not
when I am but a soul
forget me
when the thought of losing me fully
makes you smile
and no tears start to fall

if that should happen
then please
forget not to forget  me.

  3. Very nice poem... a plea for an everlasting love and care. A true reflection one's innermost feeling of belongingness and eternal desire of love forever.

  9. Love it! Very sensible poem, I must say. :) This is, by far, one of the best poems I've read in blogs recently.

  14. I don't think anyone can ever forget you, Kay. :) You're pretty hard to shake off even if you don't mean to leave an imprint. :) I love that you're writing more!
