We initially went to Shakeys but apparently, someone booked the entire place for a birthday party. We went to Hogalbi next but ended up transferring because there were no available tables inside and FM's Mom did not want to dine Al Fresco. Eventually, we landed in House of Minis.
I actually loved the interior of the place. It was homey and cozy. It oozed of country charm. I loved country charm so I was swept away. After admiring the place, we started to order. Since FM and family was a regular customer, I asked for his opinion on what I should order. I ended up with Steak Flambe ala House of Minis.
But first, we had bread.
I don't know why but I ended up eating around 3 sets of this. I stole FM's bread and I think I stole some of R's bread too. It was just so tender and chewy. I love it!
The soup on the other hand was a bit too much for me. It felt like there was too much cream, too much of everything. Still, I finished it.
As for the gambas, this is definitely one of their best. The shrimp was very fresh, tasty, and oh so yummy. If I wasn't the type who shared, I would have finished everything all by myself. It was too good to hog though so I made sure V, R, and FM had a taste.
The watermelon shake was just right. It had the right amount of watermelon and it wasn't pale nor was it lacking in taste.
Below is my steak ala flambe. Best part about it is the way it was served (see last photo) because they light it up and everything just goes up in flames. It was definitely a sight to see.
Lastly, the mocha cake that they served was actually quite good too. Though I am not a mocha fan, I was actually able to finish this scoop of ice cream.
Overall, I'd definitely want to go back to House of Minis and recommend this to friends. Thanks again FM for another wonderful experience.
