Manila Fame 2018

Every single year, I would promise myself that I would attend Manila Fame. Every year, I would fail. This time around, I was finally able to go even though it was just the media sneak peek.

The country’s premier lifestyle and design event, Manila FAME aspires to promote the Philippines as a reliable sourcing destination for high-quality home, fashion, holiday, architectural and interior pieces. Its shows support local small and medium enterprises as they present their masterpieces to the global exports market.

The biannual trade show will continue to serve as a blank canvas for the country’s acclaimed artisans, providing a platform that nurtures creative freedom among creators and showcases the distinct design imprint of the Philippines to the global audience.

The 68th edition of Manila FAME will combine the principles of marketability and aesthetics as it continues its exploration of design trends and the Philippine design identity.

With award-winning artist Tes Pasola at its helm, Manila FAME will be a collective of enterprises, featuring versatile artisanal products attuned for the modern setting from the country’s top home, fashion, holiday, and gifts exporters and manufacturers.

With the Philippine Bamboo Industries Development Roadmap in place, the bamboo and mining industry partnership is set to go beyond the bamboo industry showcase at Manila FAME. “The partnership developed between the bamboo and mining industries will further strengthen bamboo’s impact on protecting the environment, while at the same time providing livelihood to vital mining and artisan communities. Areas for continuing collaboration include planting technology and community training in designing and manufacturing smart bamboo products,” emphasizes National Bamboo Industry Cluster Coordinator and DTI-Region III Director Judith Angeles.

I had to pose!

My favorite among the stores that allowed us to have a sneak peek was Tim Tam Ong. As you all know, I have a penchant for statement earrings and necklaces so I was naturally drawn to this one.

Everything is handmade and her work is exquisite.

I'm so grateful to have one of her works. I'm going to wear this when I watch Lea at 40.

I also got to chat with Mr. Rajo Laurel which was amazing! He's one of the designers that I admire and to learn a bit from here about design, fashion, and the like was mind-blowing.

Catch Manila Fame on October 19 -21.
