My son grew up drinking Nido. Now that he's 10, he still drinks milk once or twice a day but I make sure that he does drink daily as much as possible. My Mom tells me that kids and teenagers still need to drink milk and so she makes sure that I always buy milk for my son.
You see, my Mom was overprotective of me when I was a kid because I was very sickly. I didn't really grow up running around, playing with insects, and splashing in the mud. In fact, I was kept in a small bubble to ensure that I wouldn't get sick. When I had my son, I realized that I needed to let him have the childhood that I did not get. I had to let him run around, play with insects, and splash in the (oh my gosh I can't believe I will even write this) mud.
This decision is not easy because I worry about him getting sick and I worry that if I let him go about, he will contract something and I'd blame myself. This is what NIDO hoped to address when they invited us to talk about Nido 3+ Laking Amazing. As everyone who has read my blog for a time would know, I don't just write about Mommy things here. I make sure that when I recommend something to my co-Moms, it is something that B and I both love and support. Luckily, NIDO is definitely something that has been a part of our life.
They had nutritionists in the house whom we could talk to about our health concerns for our children so I took advantage of it and asked about B's health and weight. The first thing they showed me were the 4 Common Nutrition Problems. I am happy to say that B did not fall in any of the 4 categories. Right now, he is neither underweight or overweight. He is also not a picky eater (this will never be tolerated in my home) and neither does he want the same thing over and over again.
However, B does need to have more physical activities and ingest more Lactobacillus in his body and I loved that they had visuals to help explain it to me. As you can see here, there are soldiers who fight off bacteria but if there are only a few, they could actually lose.
Now if they Lactobacillus Protectus, then the soldiers would multiply.
If we add more lactobacillus, fruits, vegetables, and vitamins, then we will the war against bacteria.
This is what can give me extra assurance that I can let B out and play and he will be able to fight back against diseases.
I'm glad the nutritionist that I got was very patient in answering my questions and explaining things to me. I never felt her judge me and she listened to my stories about my son and his eating habits.
Since my kid is 10 years old already, he needs NIDO 5+ enriched with Calci-N to help build healthy bones because it provides better calcium absorption.
Oh I'm the pickiest eater growing up and grow up the worst one especially from a family of restaurateur where you can eat anything anytime we wanted.
ReplyDeleteMy youngest barely eats, but I am not concerned because his pediatrician says he ok.
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of this before. I need to look into this for my kids who are age ranges 2 to 10. Sounds beneficial.
ReplyDeleteI grew up on a farm. I had no choice but to be outside, getting dirty, etc. To this day, I still rarely get sick. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I heard that it's better to be exposed to all those germs as a child because it helps build your immune system and you tend to not get sick as often the older you get.
ReplyDeleteMy picky eater is underweight. He could use this type of milk.
ReplyDeleteThat is a good tip about the calcium intake is it suitable for adults too? I need to strengthen my muscle tone.
ReplyDeleteNibio milk never heard of it but it sounds like a yogurt drink I had before. Lactobacillus Protects bacteria for strong immune system awesome thanks for making us aware.
ReplyDeleteTrue lactobacillus, fruits, vegetables, and vitamin could win against bacteria.
ReplyDeleteI will keep this in mind when my grandson is old enough for Nido. My daughter is so overly protective of him but I told her it is okay for kids to learn to explore (or get dirty).
ReplyDeleteGrowing up, I was one of the most unruly kids in the family, probably because I was the second eldest and it was just me and my cousin. He's a boy so naturally our games would always include something gross. Lol. I'm not sickly though and I'm glad the twins aren't as well. It's good to have that extra protection, from milk or other supplements.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard of Nido, but it seems like it's a great probiotic drink! My husband is really good at getting his but I need to be better:(. Sounds like your son has a great mother.
ReplyDeleteLove your tips! Perfect for my kids. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a good product to try if your kids are super picky. Luckily, my kids aren't too bad. They pretty much eat whatever. Even veggies! Lol
ReplyDeleteGreat informative post I have a picky eater so these would be ideal
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find. My nephews are super picky eaters and a bit on the skinny side. I will have to pass this on to my SIL.
ReplyDeleteThis is great, looks like it's really gonna be good for your kid.
ReplyDeleteThis is a very informative post! And the visuals help me understand a lot easier now. Lol! If I read information but don't see it being done it disappears out of my mind as soon as I'm done reading.
ReplyDeleteHadn't heard of Nido before. But I'll keep it in mind for when the time comes :)
ReplyDeleteI grow up with Nido and Bear Brand. But never imagined the benefits in drinking it. I would love to treat my kids with this drink and tell them this interesting story and hope they love milk, just like I did.
ReplyDeleteThis is great for picky eaters! I hadn't heard of Nido before but may give it a try! Thanks for another great post!
ReplyDeleteWhoa this is so interesting! Great post.
