Let It Go Coloring Book by Sherise Seven

When I first received this coloring book, I thought to myself, "it looks so different." I meant it in a bad way too because I thought the lines were all squigly and it looked unpolished at first glance. However, when I read this, I understood and then I APPRECIATED what Sherise Seven hoped to accomplish and why this book looked the way it did.

After I read this, I saw the book in a different light and in the way that the artist wanted it to be seen. This book was not perfect nor does it require perfection when you draw on it. The aim of this book is to remind you that coloring and doodling is meant for you to relax and not obsess about the tiniest detail or whether or not you had no colors going over the line. This book simply wanted you to color. It wants you to LET IT GO and just color away and breathe out all the negativity in your life by relaxing your mind.

I did exactly what was asked and wrote down something that was causing me great stress. After, I blacked it out until you couldn't read what it was that I wrote. It felt cathartic.

Afterwards, I had to choose which among the many pages they had to color.  These are some of my favorites.

However, I chose to color this one.

Finally, the finished product.

I had fun doing this and eventhough it was not perfect, I didn't mind it at all. This coloring book feels like a friend. It does not intimidate you nor make you feel inadequate. You go over the line and you just think, the artist said it was okay so it's okay. It felt PERFECTLY IMPERFECT.

This books can already be ordered here.
Artist: Sherise Seven
Price: $11.99

For anyone who has ever stressed out over a coloring book, this is the one you want to have. You will never feel guilty if you missed or crossed a line coz as the artist said, LET IT GO.

  7. What a beautiful coloring book! I have thought about trying adult coloring books but I am afraid it will actually stress me out more because it is so intricate. For the moment, I am sticking with kiddie books (don’t laugh) but hopefully in the future. How beautiful!
