Why is Commercial Cleaning Important to Your Business?

If you’re a business owner who has been approached by a commercial cleaning company about regular cleaning services, you may find yourself wondering why commercial cleaning is important to your business. If your business doesn’t involve cleaning, it may not be obvious why commercial cleaning matters for your business. In truth, there are many different ways commercial cleaning can benefit your business. We’ve listed the common reasons below.

Professional Image Matters

When potential customers visit your place of business, first impressions can make a huge impact on buying decisions. What a client sees when they first walk in the door of your office will stick with them for a long time. When a client walks into your office to find a cluttered or dirty, grimy office, it certainly doesn’t project professionalism. A bad first impression can negatively impact purchasing decisions. A clean, professional looking office lets clients know that you take your business seriously. It instills confidence in your company’s ability to professionally manage the bigger issues at hand.

Time Management

Let’s face it, business owners have a lot of tasks on their plate. Many business owners find it difficult to accomplish all the critical business tasks that need done on a daily basis. Finding time to keep up with office cleaning can be difficult when you’re struggling to meet customer demands and keep up with employee needs. Using commercial cleaning services can save hours of time that you can use toward getting those vital business tasks finished.

Productivity
Experts will tell you that clutter and chaos are often counterproductive to productivity. Time spent finding paperwork, documents, or supplies you need to get work done can suck up your valuable time and the time of your employees. Decreased productivity for your or your office staff can cost you money because employees will need overtime hours to meet customer needs and finish projects. Decreased productivity can even cost you potential clients. If you find yourself being less productive than usual in the office or customers complain about employees not meeting expectations, clutter could be the culprit. Clear out the clutter and get organized to give your office productivity a boost. Learn more about SimplyMaid if you find it extremely difficult to keep your workplace cleaned and organized every moment.

Health

One of the biggest reasons commercial cleaning is important to your business is the health of your employees and your customers. Staff and public bathrooms can be a cesspool for bacteria if regular cleaning is not implemented. Dirt, dust, and other contaminants can build up on furniture surfaces and aggravate allergies of staff and customers and can contribute to respiratory infections and other health issues. Failure to clean and disinfect regularly can all contribute to an environment that breeds germs. Sick employees can cost your business money in increased healthcare costs.

Injury Prevention

Keeping your office clean can help prevent injuries to employees and staff. A cluttered office or workspace can increase the likelihood that employees or potential customers will trip, slip, or otherwise injure themselves. Commercial cleaning can go a long way toward preventing injuries which can help keep healthcare and worker’s compensation costs down and save your business money.

Top 5 Drinks to Quench the Summer Heat

Summer is here. The fact that I could not even wear my favorite jogging pants at home yesterday is proof of that. You see, I'm the person that gets cold easily. It could be summer and I'd still sleep with a blanket on even if I only have the electric fan on.

So yesterday, it was really a surprise when I felt hot and sweaty when I was wearing my favorite pair of jogging pants. UGH.

This led me to start thinking of drinks that I need to have to ensure I stay hydrated. Since 9 cups of coffee is no longer an option, I had to think of other options to help me quench this summer heat.

1. Fruit Shakes

This is something you can easily make at home. If you have a blender, shaker, or juicer, it's best to buy fresh fruits from your local market and make this at home. You can add non-fat milk, brown sugar or honey to give it a bit more sweetness and then you're good to go.

My go to are carrots and apple, carrots, apple, and mango, papaya and carrots, as well as apple, pear, and banana. These are all packed with vitamins and anti-oxidants but it's also very refreshing. I think it's one of the best ways to rehydrate because you're also taking care of yourself all at the same time.

2. Iced Coffee

Yes I mentioned that I can't drink 9 cups of coffee anymore but it does not mean that I can't drink coffee at all so what I've been doing nowadays is I drink a cup of coffee in the morning and I make it iced because IT IS SO HOT OUTSIDE!

Another thing that I do is I pour non fat milk and then put coffee cubes. It makes my coffee look prettier and it also waters down the coffee so that my acid reflux doesn't happen too much.

3.  Buko Juice(Coconut Juice)

This is something that is really abundant in the Philippines and is also cheap but healthy. For less than $1, you can already get an entire coconut all to yourself. Buko juice is really good for the body. It cleanses and helps most especially with UTI.

4. Sola Iced Tea

Sometimes, you just need a hit of that iced tea. Sola Iced Tea is one of my go to drinks as because it contains just the right amount of sugar and caffeine. The fact that it comes in small cans also help to balance the consumption. It's very refreshing and feels more like a juice drink.

5. Iced Cold Water

Of course nothing beats plain old iced cold water. Water is a necessary liquid for us to help combat the heat. Be sure to drink at least 8 glasses of water aside from the other drinks that I have suggested. 8 glasses on top of anything else.

Summer in Manila can be really scorching and with heatstroke now a reality, we need to make sure that we stay hydrated at all times.

5 Ways to Defy 40

Almost every woman fears hitting the big 40. Yes, there may b more adventures and freedom when 40 comes along because you have finally become your own woman and know what you need, want, and what you won't put up with but along with it comes a slower metabolism, the appearance of white hair, and dark spots as well as wrinkles.

So, how can we defy 40? Here are my 5 tips that I personally swear by. These may not work for all but these are my tips that I would like to share with people. It has worked for me and I hope it works for you.

1. Eat your Greens

There is a reason why our Mothers kept nagging at us to eat our veggies. These are filled with anti-oxidants that help our skin to battle signs of aging in the most natural way. Vegetable help our skin heal and stay young looking because it helps our entire body stay healthy and healthy skin = young looking skin.

2. Drink your vitamins

Since eating veggies is no longer enough with all the harmful chemicals and pollution in the air, drinking vitamins is needed. Your skin, since it makes up more than half of your body, needs it's own vitamin to help it working. Myra Ultimate is the answer to that.

With astaxanthin which helps reduce fine lines and lighten dark spots, this is definitely one supplement that will help me maintain youthful, beautiful skin.

This photo should be proof. I have no filter, this is on auto mode, and I have absolutely no make up in this photo but I believe that my skin looks awesome for someone who is almost 40.

3. CTM

Cleanse, tone, and moisturize.

This was something that I didn't really follow when I was younger. I would simply cleanse and tone but now that I'm older, I've realized that I should have invested in moisturizer. Yes, my skin looks pretty good but it could be more glowing had I follower everyone's advise.

4. HYDRATE

A lot of our skin problems or body pains can actually be solved by water. Drink more than 8 glasses of water because water keeps your skin hydtated and glowing. When you lack water, your skin can look dry and when you scratch it, it leaves a white line. Eeeewww dry patch.

5. Say no to STRESS

No amount of veggies, CTM, hydration, or vitamins can ever defeat stress so if you allow your life to be ruled by stress, you will look the part. You will look stressed, tired, harassed, and old so learn to say no to stress.

You're nearing your 40s and this is the time that you already know what you want to put up with and what you need to walk away from. If someone irritates you online but you need to stay friends for whatever reason, learn to UNFOLLOW or MUTE the person's feed. It is possible now.

Choose your battles so that your battles will not control you.

Do you have other skin care tips that you swear by? I'd love to know. Let me know by commenting below.

PS. Don't be embarrassed consulting with the experts should there be a need as well. If you don't have time, you can also read more about the perfectio zero gravity device to help your skin to stay young looking.

Complete look at the Cherry Blossom Starbucks Collection

Some of the best Sakura merchandise can be found at Starbucks. This is already a fact. They have proven over and over again that they have the cutest tumblers, mugs, bearista, and lately, even cards that have the Sakura design on it so when they release their annual Sakura line, people simply go gaga.

I am one of them.

In Japan, the blooming of cherry blossoms is one of the most anticipated times of the year as it marks the coming of Spring – a time of new beginnings. The breath-taking sight of cherry trees tinted with the pale pink haze symbolizes beauty, life, and renewal.

This year, Starbucks also embraces the changing of the seasons with new Springtime favorites inspired by Cherry Blossom. The Azuki Blossom Cream Frappuccino® is as dreamy as a Spring day in Japan with its velvety milk and sweet red bean base, topped with whipped cream, falling petals of white and pink rice blossom petals, and tart dried cranberry bits.

Starbucks also offers a green tea variation with the Matcha Azuki Blossom Cream Frappuccino® which blends the bright flavors of Matcha and sweet red bean. This cherry blossom treat is also sprinkled with pink and white rice petals and cranberry bits on top of whipped cream and red beans.

For those who want to bring spring’s unique flavors into their cup of coffee at home, the Starbucks Spring Season Blend combines four distinct coffees from around the world to deliver a big syrupy body with dark cherry and cedary spice flavors.

Aside from delightful cherry blossom beverages, stunning Sakura-themed merchandise is also ripe for the picking in Starbucks stores. With a dainty palette of pink, purple, and gold, the collection depicts two kinds of cherry blossoms, inspired by traditional hand drawings and oil paintings that captures its beauty.

Some items from the collection include double-walled mugs with rubber lids in Blossom Pink and in Blossom Gray with Sakura motifs, tumblers like the clear Cold Cup designed with a sprinkling confetti blossom and complemented with a lid and straw, and even adorable Bearista Bear Keychains in pastel pink.

Complete the collection with the 2019 Sakura Card, designed to show the delicateness of the Cherry Blossom’s pale pink petals. The card is available for an initial activation amount of Php300 per card.

Starting March 12, customers who purchase any of the two featured beverages can experience Cherry Blossom at Starbucks. Customers simply need to scan the QR code that can be found in each cup when they purchase either a Matcha Azuki Blossom Cream Frappuccino® or an Azuki Blossom Cream Frappuccino®. After scanning the QR code, they will need to locate the banner with the Cherry Blossom to trigger the AR experience. Upon scanning, customers can take their selfies under Cherry Trees of falling cherry blossoms. Join in on the Cherry Blossom craze and visit Starbucks to witness spring in full bloom! We know that nowadays, a lot of people favor going to restaurants to experience the finest dishes. However, you'd also often hear that nothing beats a good old home cooking but sadly, a lot of people nowadays no longer know how to cook basic dishes.

Those who do end up cooking something that is blah or meh at best.

The good news is that this does not need to be the case. There are 3 things that you can add to your dishes to ensure that you are able to level up your cooking and impress anyone who sits on your dining table.

5 Red Flags any Woman Needs to Know

So it's March which means that it's National Women's Month. A lot of people are posting about how to be more empowered, how to celebrate you, how to be this and that so I figured that I need to do something else to make sure that empowered women STAY EMPOWERED.

You see, it's not just the meek ones that fall prey to abusive men. Most of the time, it's actually the ones who seem like boss babe material. Abusive men are VERY MANIPULATIVE and VERY CHARMING. They have a way of turning things around until it becomes too late for you to realize that you have fallen victim to abuse.

I've been a victim in the past and anyone who knows me will never think that I'd be the type of woman to become a victim of abuse but it happened and it took such a long time for me to actually get out of it. In hindsight, there were red flags but I chose to ignore it or reason it out. With this post, I am hoping to help at least one woman recognize the red flags if there are any and help them break things off soon as they possibly can.

1. Backhanded compliments

If the guy you are dating gives you a compliment and then follows it with "BUT" then that is a RED flag.

You look really great BUT you'd look awesome if you lost a bit of weight.
I love that you enjoy food BUT do you really need to eat that?
I like that you're so outgoing BUT I'd like it more if you stayed home more often.

Of course there are those that just really care about you, your health, or your well being but when it starts to feel like he's changing you into someone you are not, that's a BIG NO-NO.

When you start to dread his compliments because you know that there's a BUT coming in, it's time to get out.

When you start to second guess your decisions because he always contradicts you and you become unsure of what you like, what you prefer, and what you enjoy, that is a RED FLAG.

This means that you NEED TO GET OUT of the relationship.

Remember that compliments should make you feel good and nothing else. Compliments should be given without conditions. Period.

2. The guy that says "I'm the only one .... "

If the guy you're dating does something for you and then goes on to tell you things like

"It's good that I'm here. I'm the only one who would do this for you."
"Of course I'll help you. I'm the only one you can count on."
"I'm the only one who will always be here for you."

Abusers will slowly but surely make you believe that they are the only one who is there for you, the only one who loves you, and the only one who understands you. They will often tell you that they are the only one who is there for you. They say this over and over again then back it up with actions until you start believing that no one else get you the same way they do.

Remember that there is no one person in this world for you. There will always be others who love you, care for you, and will be willing to help you out if you ask for it. Anyone who tells you otherwise just wants to manipulate you.

3. US against the WORLD

Abusers will take you away from your world. If you had friends before, he will discourage you from meeting friends or hanging out by enticing you with romantic dates or asking you to stay in with them. He will then say that it's better for the two of you to stay together or if you did get to bring them out, they will show you that they are not having fun and make you feel guilty for forcing them to go out or make you feel guilty because you left them alone.

He wants you all to himself and he will say it's because he loves you so much. He just wants to spend more time with you to get to know you coz you are so amazing. He feels jealous when others are around you. He is threatened because someone might steal a goddess like you.

Remember that the right person will never try to steer you away from things and people that love you. Love is not selfish. Real love is not selfish nor is it jealous.

4. Snide Insults

When you are finally starting to believe the reality that an abusive guy weaves for you, they will now start to insult you. It starts with small things like "no one thinks you're funny" or "your favorite outfit makes you look fat." It's small things that leave you feeling confused because he's always been so good to you and he's done so many things for you.

A classic would be when you wear an outfit and he says, "you look (insert anything insulting)" and then when you look hurt by it, they immediately hug you and say sorry but then they tell you that they just wanted to be honest and that again, they are just after your best interest at heart.

When you do confront him, he tells you that he's sorry and does a grand gesture to make up for it. He could also weep and apologize profusely and ask for your forgiveness in such a way that you'd feel like you were being overly dramatic. In the end, you'd feel bad for standing up for yourself because he's just so sorry.

However, it happens again and again until you just start to reason out and tell yourself to stop being so sensitive or to let it pass because it's such a small thing and he's the only one who has been there for you. You may even feel that you deserve it because you must have done something to make him react like that.

Remember that someone can only belittle you or make you feel bad WHEN YOU ALLOW it. When you learn to stand up for yourself and walk away from anyone who harms your self worth or makes you question your confidence, that person is not good for you.

5. The first attack.

It can be a simple slap on the wrist which happens again and again. It can be a mild push when he doesn't like something you did, say, wear, or even the way you smelled that day. It can be a slap.

No matter what, HE WILL BLAME YOU FOR IT. He will say you made him do it. He will remind you of how awesome he was at the beginning and that you drove him to hurt you. He will apologize but he will convince you that it was because of you that he ended up hurting you.

This is how you know that YOU NEED TO RUN AWAY FOR YOUR LIFE. Trust me on this. Abusers have a cycle. They have a pattern. They have signs. When we become aware of the red flags, it becomes a little easier to protect ourselves.

Remember that there is absolutely no good reason for a man to physically harm you. NEVER.

I hope that this post helps someone out. There are many other red flags that we need to be aware of but these are the top 5. If the man you are with hits even 2 out of 5 in this list, please please re-think the entire relationship. It's never too late to get out until you have to be taken out in a casket.

Avon Fashions presents Designed by Marian

As a woman, it can be hard to complete a certain look at times. With fashion ever so flitting and designs coming in and out faster than a bolt of lightning, staying on top of what is in can be very challenging.

This is why investing in timeless pieces is a must when you are a woman. When you have a timeless piece, you can just use it over and over again and be guaranteed that you will look put together. Now if you are on a budget, you don't need to have a lot of accessories. You just need these 3 and you'll be good to go.

1. Earrings

A pair of classic earrings is always a necessity when you go out. It highlights your ears and helps frame your face especially if your hair is tied down or in a bun.

2. Necklace

If you can get an earring and necklace that pairs up, 2/3 of your problem is already solved. If not, then geta necklace that has a semi-understated pendant that is small but stands out in it's own way. Think of the necklaces that Korean stars wear on their Kdrama series. It's small but noticeable.

This is how it looks when worn.

When you wear a necklace and earring set, you just automatically come off as being put together, as if you have control of things and you know what you're doing. It just gives off that vibe.

I think I look pretty stunning even if I am just wearing a plain black top with the Marian Emerald Green Necklace (P599) and the Marian Emerald Green Earrings (P599.)

3. A watch

Yes, we all have watches on our mobile phones but there is still something to be said about a woman who has a classic piece on her arms. Thankfully Marian Rivera designed two type of watches. One is meant for the classic go getter and the other is more apt for those who are still in college, learning about their passion.

The Marian Goldtone Watch (P1,399.)

The silicone strapped watch and stud earrings is more than comfortable to wear but it allows you to stand out from the rest. Now that's fashion and comfort combined.

For those who are sick and tired of having to worry which outfit goes with which accessory, here's the answer to your prayers. I know you girls exist out there because I can't be the only one who loves a good pair of accessories that go with anything.

By the way, here's where you can get it.

PS. Pair this look with a nude lippie and you're all set.

February Recap + Importance of Time Allotment

February has come and gone so it's time to do another recap. I realized that I like doing this because it allows me to reflect on what the previous month was like and if there's anything that I did not like, I can be more purposeful in ensuring that it won't happen again.

Here is my January recap

This also allows me to remember all the blessings and awesome moments that happened.

I started the month with a Korean Food Review which was truly DAEBAK! I was so happy becauseI was able to bring in my family. I hope that even in a small way, I was able to help give more publicity to YES! Samgyupsal.

February was also the month when two of my favorite make up brands launched new products that left me TRULY STRUGGLING with my no buy year. Seriously, it was so hard especially when Fenty announced they had Coral and Pink STUNNA lippies and when Urban Decay announced that they had NAKED RELOADED. Ugh.

Thankfully, I was able to resist. *pats self in the back*

I got to finish two diamond paintings this month which I am so very proud of.  One is for my cousin and the other one is that of my son. My son also finished one and I am one proud momma.

M and I also held our first ever photography workshop. I'm really proud of this because this is our baby and we actually had 5 people attend. YEY!

My Aunt and cousin also came over from Cebu. This is an Aunt that I have not spoken to in years so it felt nice to reconnect with her. As for my cousin, I'm just happy that I am able to help him handle things. We never really got to bond but he's family.

I was also able to meet up with friends and reconnect. Thankfully, I was able to keep up with my daily journal so all memories are intact just in case my memory falters.

A plant that I got at the start of February is still alive. This means it has been alive for 4 weeks now. OMIGOSH!

And finally, Yang approves of M.

Overall, February was great because I was surrounded by people that I love and people who love me and accept me. Isn't that what life should be all about?

February validated more for me the importance of time allotment. Time is something that you can never take back or have again so we all need to make sure that we spend our time with the people who matter, doing things that we love, and just being able to live in the moment. Thankfully, my February went by with these three things.

Berde 4 Mama, Zero Waste Lifestyle Starter Kit

Finally, people are starting to notice the really tragic effect of excessive plastic usage.

Yes, it may seem convenient and a lot cheaper to use plastic but if you think about things in the long run, we used to be able to live in a world where there was no plastic. In reality, we also get to save more money when we invest in bamboo or wooden materials as well as use glass tumblers and the like.

So, how does one start a zero waste lifestyle? How do you transition to going back to the basics? How do people find the right stores to purchase from? How do you know that these are legitimate stores? So many questions, so little answers.

This is why I have decided that I will be the one to look for a brand that you can trust to help you out with your zero waste lifestyle starter kit. I know this because they are also the company that I am starting my journey with.

Enter Berde 4 Mama. I first saw them on Facebook and my curiousity was piqued coz they were very subtle about their platform. They do not use shaming tactics. They are not overly aggressive with their posts. In short, I liked how they pitched what they have to offer. Thankfully, the owner of Berde 4 Mama was also gracious enough to allow me to interview her via email.

How did Berde come about? What was the inspiration for this?

I launched Berde in April last year as my passion project. It wasn't planned at all but I started it because I wanted to make eco-friendly products accessible and affordable.
I got this idea because I wanted to buy some for myself, but I got discouraged by the high prices. I was also bothered by the fact that we need more people to switch to greener alternatives and yet they were much more expensive compared to your usual plastic toothbrushes, and shampoos in bottles, etc.

So I chatted with a lot of these brands who sell them and upon inquiring about their bulk rates, I quickly learned how much they were making off of these products and I knew then that they can be sold at much cheaper rates.

With Berde, my mission is to make these eco-friendly products accessible and affordable because I truly believe that going green shouldn't be expensive. I want to get rid of the notion that living a sustainable lifestyle is only for those who can afford. I also wanted to tap those who are skeptical about switching to a bamboo toothbrush, for example, so that if they try it and really don't feel comfortable using a plant as the handle of their brushes, then at least they didn't spend a fortune on it.

Who are the owners and why Berde? Tell us a bit of history.

My name is Aliyah Ong and I'm the sole proprietor of Berde. I'm 23 :)
Ever since I was a kid I knew that I wasn't cut our for a 9-5 job. I tried it for about 2 years after graduating college in 2016. In a span of 2 short years, I went for 1 OJT and 4 full-time jobs. Some would easily dismiss my fast movement as a millennial trait of not being able to take the pressure and commit and push thru and all that, but I believe I had my valid reasons.

This product is all about sustainability and zero waste lifestyle. Do you think that the Filipino people are ready for this kind of living especially since plastic has made things cheaper and easier to lug around?

I think no one is ever ready until they actually try to make the shift. There are 2 things that I believe people are most concerned about when debating whether or not they are ready--one would be the cost and another is the "hassle" and extra time and effort it would take to shift.
As for the cost, this is one of the main concerns that Berde tries to address. I priced our products as such thinking that our low prices can entice people to try these zero-waste tools. As for the "hassle", thru social media I try to share as much news and tips and tricks on how to make the shift not really easier, but worthwhile.
More than selling eco-friendly items, it's very important to educate people on why they need to reduce their consumption. Thru the materials we share on the different social media platforms, I hope to bring people back to the main reason why stores such as mine exist. We shouldn't shift to this lifestyle just for the gram or just because it's the "in" thing right now, because then once the phase has ended, then people will just go back to their old ways.

What are your best sellers and why do you think people buy it?

Our best sellers are the reusable straws at first (probably because of the hype too), but now our cotton rounds and produce bags are being in demand. I think the cotton rounds and produce bags are starting to get a lot of attention lately because these are the items that we really use on a daily or weekly basis. These items are necessary in our routines and they generate a lot of trash.

If I may share, we have some items that we are just finishing up and won't be selling anymore. We're thinking about discontinuing selling metal straws and bamboo utensils primarily because most households already have utensils at home, and they're really just a hype right now because it's cute. We're still weighing if the cute factor is enough motivation for people to use them vs plastic utensils.
Also, for the metal straws, it also promotes mining and we can't always say for sure, even despite certifications of responsible mining. There are glass and bamboo straws available, and a lot of other more sustainable materials that are being tested out for straw production. And more so, we can actually drink without straws right? :)
Ed's note - - - I actually drink more water when there's a straw involved. Haha.

What are the biggest challenges you have faced in getting people to go for a zero waste lifestyle?

At first I was aggressive in talking people into consuming less, but I've learned that it's no way to convince them. I feel like the key is not to push this lifestyle down their throat, but to educate them on why shifting to greener alternatives is better not just for the environment but also for them.

The challenge really is to get people to understand why there is such a movement and why using reusable straws is not enough and why it's not just about saving sea turtles. Once they understand this, then all the "hassle" when prepping and bringing your reusables will be worth it.

Now let's talk about the actual product. I tested it for a week and here are my reviews.

Everyone who has read my blog over the years know that I love soaps that give a good lather and leave you feeling refreshed, not sticky. My normal go to soaps would be the Mint Soap from PINTO MUSEUM and ILOG MARIA. However, it is hard to go to these places so I don't always get to use them.

When I tried the Calamansi Soap from Berde, I had the same feeling but even better. You see, it is not minty which can be problematic when washing certain body parts but the moment you step out of the bath, you just feel so refreshed, like a gust of wind blew from inside your body out. You just feel really good.

For people like me who carry too many things, a spork like this can be really good because it saves up on space inside my bag. It's also easy to clean and manage. I can go from eating something with rice to poking fruits and veggies when I want to. The convenience and the way this helps me lessen plastic usage is amazing.

The first time I tried the bamboo toothbrush, I had so many apprehensions. What if it doesn't work? What if it breaks? What if it tastes weird?

Thankfully my fears were for nothing. It was just an ordinary toothbrush save for the fact that this one was not going to harm Planet Earth. It tasted the same, worked the same, and made me question myself why I did not try this out back in 2018.

How are you contributing to help save the planet?

Here's a quick video to show you my initial take on Berde.
