So what's a girl got to do when a product keeps calling out for your name and you promised yourself that you will go for a no buy year?
The hot pink and coral pink would definitely look good on me, this I know which is why it's o hard for me to say no but I know that I must so I'm going to apply two rules.
ONE IN ONE OUT
This rule states that when you buy something, you need to let go of something. If I buy these two new shades of lippies, then I need to let go of at least two other lippies to balance everything out.
3 MONTH RULE
This rule states that if you want something, you need to wait three months and if you still want to buy it, then you can go ahead and do so. After all, the no buy year is being done to curtail unnecessary spending but it doesn't mean that you can't completely purchase anything anymore. It just helps you to lessen it as much as possible if you can't completely avoid it.
I know that there will be more challenges that I will be facing in the next 10 months but so far, it has been worth it. I've been ableto save more money than I have ever had in just 1.5 months and it just verifies that I am on the right track.
I just really, really like Fenty. GAH.
As an avid shopper, I need to try this! Thanks for the inspiration :).
ReplyDeleteI like the 3 month rule! I do something similar!
ReplyDeleteUggghhh the three month rule is the easiest to succumb to!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how I would make it through a no buy year, I love to shop! Plus with losing weight I'm going to need new clothes soon, eep!
ReplyDeleteBuying nothing for a period for a long period of time is definitely challenging. Great way to save though.
ReplyDeleteLove the one in, one out rule -- it's helped me choose purchases more wisely!
ReplyDeleteWaiting three months to purchase something is a great idea. Making sure it is something you really want and not an impulse buy saves a lot of money.
ReplyDeleteI dont think i could do a whole year, I love amazon way to much lol!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is quite hard I suppose because the internet makes it so easy to buy things :)
ReplyDeleteI am currently doing the no buying challenge. I have been shopping a lot and I need to stop buying stuff.
