Challenges of a No Buy Year and how to Overcome them

I am now on my 2nd month of a no buy year and the challenges have begun creeping up.

So what's a girl got to do when a product keeps calling out for your name and you promised yourself that you will go for a no buy year?

Fenty Beauty is one of the few makeup line that I actually obsess over. I have most of the products and the Stunna lip line is the one thing that I have almot 90% of. The two new shades that are coming out which is called UNLOCKED and UNATTACHED keep calling out my name.

The hot pink and coral pink would definitely look good on me, this I know which is why it's o hard for me to say no but I know that I must so I'm going to apply two rules.

ONE IN ONE OUT

This rule states that when you buy something, you need to let go of something. If I buy these two new shades of lippies, then I need to let go of at least two other lippies to balance everything out.

3 MONTH RULE

This rule states that if you want something, you need to wait three months and if you still want to buy it, then you can go ahead and do so. After all, the no buy year is being done to curtail unnecessary spending but it doesn't mean that you can't completely purchase anything anymore. It just helps you to lessen it as much as possible if you can't completely avoid it.

I know that there will be more challenges that I will be facing in the next 10 months but so far, it has been worth it. I've been ableto save more money than I have ever had in just 1.5 months and it just verifies that I am on the right track.

I just really, really like Fenty. GAH.

  7. Waiting three months to purchase something is a great idea. Making sure it is something you really want and not an impulse buy saves a lot of money.

Hi! Let's all try to add more positivity in this world and adhere to the saying, "if you don't have anything nice to say, keep silent."

Showering you with unicorn poop so you'd always stay magical! Heart heart!
