Century Tuna Lite and why 70/30 matters

A lot of people have been joining the fitness bandwagon for many years now. Some are successful, most are not. Others feel frustrated for they exercise and yet, achieve nothing. Some have cut down on food and are still nowhere near the perfect abs they desire.

A lot of people think that a perfect physique solely depends on workout, making many hopefuls say, “Ang hirap naman magpa-sexy!” Now, there’s no need to fret as Century Tuna, together with the face of its newest campaign Derek Ramsay, reveals the right figures to live by in achieving 100% abs.

“Century Tuna has always been with you on your road to fitness and we are very happy to share with you the right combination in achieving a healthier and sexier body,” says Greg Banzon, General Manager of Century Pacific Food Corporation.

“We hope we can inspire more people out there, too, to start living a healthy lifestyle as we gladly feature the return of our ever fit endorser Derek,” he added.

Standing at five feet, ten and a half inches and weighing 175 pounds, Derek is ripped. Tagged one of the hottest celebrities in the local entertainment industry, the actor maintains perfectly defined abs, strong, sculpted shoulders, and toned arms and legs. However, one might be surprised to know that Derek does not only engage in extreme workout to achieve this chiselled state.

“I learned that achieving a 100% fit body is 30% exercise and 70% diet,” Derek shared. “That’s why it is important for me to find a source of protein that has less fat, less salt, and made from 100% pure tuna,” he added.

Century Tuna Lite has 50% less fat and 50% less salt versus other regular flakes in oil. Aside from protein, tuna is an excellent source of important nutrients such as the minerals selenium, magnesium, and potassium; not to mention vitamin B complex and omega-3 essential fatty acids. Omega 3 DHA is not only good for the heart; it also helps burn body fat, shrink abdominal fat cells and stop certain genes that trigger inflammation on belly fat.

Above all, Century Tuna Lite is made from 100% pure tuna, no extenders, making it a perfectly delicious and healthy meal. While one can conveniently enjoy it straight from the can, Century Tuna chefs also share a line of deliciously healthy recipes that are low-calorie yet rich in nutrients.

Resisting unhealthy food may be difficult, but Derek reminds everyone that “Every goal requires 100% dedication, so don’t give up! If I can do it, then you can do it too!”

Derek is with other Century Tuna endorsers Anne Curtis, James Reid, Jessy Mendiola, Paulo Avelino and Elmo Magalona, in supporting everyone when it comes to living a healthier, happier lifestyle. Their stories also remind us that transformation is never impossible and anyone can succeed in their journey to a fit and sexy body. Till you are ready for me ...

do not get to know me
do not take me out for coffee
do not make me laugh
or find out what my crazy quirks are.

do not hold my hand
do not stare into my eyes
do not give me that cute smile
or make me want to be held in arms.

do not make memories with me
do not create moments that I'll cherish
do not plan for the future
because right now, they may no future.

do not let me feel things
do not let me feel this
do not love me like you mean it
for I may love you and mean it.

Till you are ready for me
do not come into my life
do not be in my life
for I know you do not plan to stay in it.

relationship firsts ....

Everyone who has had to get into a new relationship will know this. It is the firsts that makes things giddier, more nerve wracking, and just a tad bit crazier. You know what I'm talking about. The first kiss, the first time they hug you, the first time you sleep over, or the first time you meet his family.

Since I have started this blog, I have been in a couple of relationships and so I have definitely experienced these many firsts. Some went well, some made me go "whatttt????" while some were just pretty insane.

1. The first date

This one is the one that normally decides how things will go. If you mess up the first date, then there won't be a second date. My first dates, I normally do not know if it went well or not when its a short one. When it extends beyond 2 hours, then I know its a good one. If the guy wants to extend and extend then offers to take me home, I know for sure that there will be date #2.

2. The first physical contact

This could be the first time he holds you hand, the first time he puts his arms around you, or the first time he hugs you.  Whatever it is, the buildup that leads to it is always electrifying. It could be super romantic or it could end up being awkward and funny. Your hands could fit perfectly or you may need to adjust a few body parts for things to fall into place.

The first time someone attempted to hold my hand, I slapped his hand so hard I left bruises. I was so surprised that it was reflex. After all, at that point, no one has ever held my hand in a romantic way.

3. The first kiss

My first kiss' happened in a library, retreat house, car, office, parking lot, and car. Well, the ones I remembered anyway. I know that it reads like a lot but as I said, I have had my fair share of relationships.

Almost always, the anticipation makes it all the more exciting. In all of my first kiss, I knew that it was going to happen except for the last one. The last one took me completely by surprise. First kiss almost always tells you what your physical attraction would be like, or rather, physical chemistry. To me, it matters. If the kiss is ho-hum, most likely, I won't be seeing that guy again on a romantic aspect.

4. The first fight

Now this is something that no couple wants to go through. However, it will happen. When it does, be ready. This is the point in the relationship where the tone of the relationship is set. Sometimes, it goes in the way that every fight will feel like the end of things but sometimes, it shows that you have something worth fighting for. Not every single fight you have will mean the end of it. Actually, if you feel that every fight means its the end, then perhaps the relationship you are in may not be the right one.

Fights are normal. Fights are a natural thing. Feeling like its the end of the relationship when you fight? Not normal.

5. The first meet the parent

Amongst all the many first, this is a make or break for a lot of couples, especially here. What our parents think of our partners matter. If it doesn't, it will still have a huge effect on how we handle the relationship. Thankfully, most of my meet the parents go pretty well.

A few tips:
  1. Dress simply but make sure its a classic. You can never go wrong with classics. A simple, slightly conservative dress is always a winner. If you want to wear jeans, pair it with a white shirt and a nice blazer plus classic flats.
  2. Put on make up so you look put together but not too much that you look slutty, cheap, or trying too hard. A dash of lipstick, blush, and well put together brows should do the trick.
  3. Tell something about yourself but ask questions to show that you are interested to get to know them. Do not ask too personal questions.
  4. If you can bring a gift, do so. Something safe and not overly personal. Scented soaps are a good gift to bring or scented candles. Its thoughtful but not extravagant.
So there you go. For me, these are the firsts that matters when you get into a new relationship. How about you? What was your most memorable first?

one and only

You always ask me if I like the guy who happens to like me or has shown interest. The incessant "type mo?" is something that you have constantly asked of me so many times that I have come to realized that this is actually a very serious question for you.

So let me answer it once and for all ...

When I am in love, I have no other type. You are my only type. At most, I may say "oh he looks cute!" but then after, I'd completely forget about the guy. When I am in love, the only guy that is constantly in my head and sight would be the guy I love and in this case, it is YOU.

So please, do not worry. Yes, others may admire me. Yes, others may try and make a move but I will also make a move against them. I will move to stop them from trying and I will ensure that they know it is only you that I want.

I hope the next time I tell you about some idiot, you wouldn't ask this anymore. Instead, just say, "Well, you're mine and they can't do anything about it." I would like that very much.

the Man behind the Coat - Dr. Juan Paolo Bellosillo

It is rare to meet someone who genuinely thinks of others before himself. More so someone who dedicates his life in finding ways to improve others well being, health and safety. Dr. Juan Paolo Bellosillo is one unique person whose passion is to understand, share and empower his patients about their health condition. Being one, if not the only, Diplomate Doctor in Whole Medical Systems and Integrative Medicine in the country, he takes to heart his responsibility to be one of God’s healing agents by introducing different modalities of natural treatments to patients.

One noticeable trait of his is his high energy level, he brings this same spirit with him whenever he meets people more so that his patients absorb the positive energies enabling them to see things in a much clearer perspective. Being someone who thinks of how to help others it comes natural for him to extend his help in any type of calamity and his ability to quickly respond to disaster. It may seem difficult and time consuming but he takes great happiness and satisfaction in going out of his way to give aid to people in need.

Many articles have been written about Dr. Juan Paolo Bellosillo but most of it has been about his work as a doctor and his studies to further improve in the medical field. Out of curiosity let’s take a closer look into his life as he also is just as human as we all are…When you take away his being a doctor, who is Juan Paolo Bellosillo?

Juan Paolo Bellosillo is a lover of music. He listens to orchestra music for relaxation and some of his favorites are Waiting for a Star to Fall and Never Knew Love like this Before. He also knows how to dance so should you see him near a dance floor, feel free to take him for a spin.

Paolo is also into cooking. Yes, this life saving hero can also make a mean pasta and he likes to top it off with sausage on his cheat days. On a regular day though, he’s more of a tofu and fruit kind of day. He believes that one of the best ways you can preserve your life and health is by making the right choices in what you put in your body.

To keep fit, he plays badminton with friends and coworkers. He also participates in triathlons to ensure that he will never go back to being unhealthy. He also watches movies whenever he can and he’s more of the romantic comedy and disaster kind of movies. He won’t say no to a movie about superheroes though so it shows that even someone who works in a very serious industry can still be a kid at heart.

However, as they say, you can take the doctor out of the hospital or clinic but you can never truly take away the doctor. He is, first and foremost, someone who saves lives and it shows in the gadgets that he loves to tinker with. He has a modest collection of gadgets like LED lasers which he says is better than a whistle because it can instantly attract the attention of rescuers, communication gears, water and food supply system as well as support systems and vital signs equipment.

Learning this much about Dr. Juan Paolo Bellosillo may make us love him more as he is just like us who with a simple heart wants to share and experience world to others the way he does. He is a music lover, movie aficionado, cook, sportsman/athlete and help saves lives.

I choose US

The past few days has been anything but ideal. You just started work and I just had my first weekend without you. Ideally, we would talk about your first day and you would complain about it while I would soothe you and calm you down, there to support and cheer you on. I would have spent time with my family and played catch up on things.

Instead, you and I, we fought. I got mad at you and we said hurtful words. I cried. You were frustrated. You apologized. I accepted it, didn't accept it, doubted you, tried to make peace with it, and we're now slowly getting things fixed and sorted.

In the middle of all of this, a friend asked me, "what do you really want out of this?" I thought about it long and hard and I realized, even with all the craziness that is going on, I want us.

I CHOOSE US.

I still choose us my bear. I choose you. I choose us. So yeah, its not gonna be that easy and I'm sure there will be moments doubt may come into play. I hope you will be patient with me as I work to get rid of the doubts that are clouding my head.

What matters is that at the end of it all, I choose US. I just wanted you to know that.

why is it

Why is it
that initially when we met
I was
amazing
impressive
intriguing
astounding
amusing
candid
a breath of fresh air
awesome
different.

You were in awe of me.
You craved my presence
Yearned for my voice
Needed my company
Made ways to be with me

Why is it
that when we were dating
I was
fantastic
your dream girl
the one you wanted
the one you needed
the one you ...
dare I say it
LOVED.

You wanted to have me around
You wanted to spend a lot of time
You think I sounded like an angel
Asked me to sing you to sleep
Holding me in your arms as you do so.

Why is it
that now you have me
I am
bothersome
tiring
a nightmare
a responsibility
excess baggage
someone to deal with?

I don't get it.
I don't understand it.
Sadly, it seems
I never will.

tribulation

I knew this, US, we would be tested. I knew it was bound to happen. I just didn't think it would happen 5 days into you being over there and me being here. I didn't think that you would be the one to accidentally open this can of worms. I didn't think that it would hurt this much.

When I feel pain, I tend to withdraw and hold it all in. Sometimes, I would just break down and cry. Sometimes, when its really, extremely painful, I just become numb. It's like my brain protects me from the extreme pain that it won't let me feel it because its scared that I won't be able to handle it.

Yesterday, after the whole fiasco with that woman, I went through it all. Initially it was anger. Pure anger. How dare you? How could you. We talked about honesty. I said that if you didn't want me anymore, if there was someone else, just tell me and I'll walk away.

You promised to never betray me. YOU PROMISED. You told me that you never make promises you cannot keep.

Next, it was heartbreak. You broke my heart. You broke me. I cried and my body shook with so much grief. How could you have lied to me like that? What did I do to deserve the way you treated me? All I did was love you, take care of you, and make you happy. I made it a point to understand everything, your situation, the long distance thing, your walls and how you keep shutting me out from your life, only allowing a peek here and there. Why did you make a fool out of me?

I didn't deserve that. I don't deserve it. I will never deserve that.

You said that you respect me a lot. You said that you will never cheat on me because you respect me too much to do that. I believed you. I chose to believe you. However,  this whole thing with that woman is just too crazy.

Lastly, it was resignation, confusion, and hope. Resignation because it already happened. As much as I didn't want to believe it did, it has. Confusion because yes the implications are strong but that's all it has been. Implications. That woman implied a lot of things and you can't seem to give me a logical explanation for it. You keep saying she's a good friend. If she is such a good friend, why is she out to destroy you? With friends like that, who needs enemies?

Hope. I am still hoping that you would explain to me. I am hoping that you would talk to me. I am hoping that if you really love me, if I mattered to you, you would call and make me understand this. You kept saying you were tired of explaining and that you were not good at it. I wish you knew how tired my heart was of hurting and how painful it has been for me to cry and try to compose myself so that I won't break down and collapse.

I deserve a phone call. I deserve an explanation. I deserve for you to SHOW ME that you really do love me and not just say it. I deserve for you to not be tired of explaining. I deserve for you to talk to me regardless of how tired you are because I too am tired.

I am exhausted emotionally, mentally, and psychologically. It hurts so much thinking that there has been someone else all this time. It hurts to think that when you greet me "Morning Bella" you might also be greeting someone else. It destroys me to think that when you say "miss you so much" or "I love you" or "you're the only one I love" you're not just saying that to me but to someone else as well.

You kept telling me yesterday that you love me, that you were never unfaithful to me, that she's lying, and that you are happy with me. You said there's nothing between the two of you and that you hope we could talk. This is what I have to say.

If you wanna talk to me, if you wanna save this, do it as soon as possible. The longer that we do not talk about this, the longer it gets put on a shelf, the harder it is to fix things. As we (you and I) have always said, its all a matter of priorities. I understand that its your first day on the job and that you are most likely tired but this, it deserves your attention and time if this really does matter to you.

Ball is now in your court. What you do with it determines what happens next to this story. Does it continue? Does it end? Its your call now. I am giving you a chance; whether you take it or not is up to you.

I don't understand people who just can't seem to accept the word no. They ask you to do something and when you say no, they get this completely baffled look on their faces. What was the point of asking if it was okay or if you can do so and so if you were expecting a yes all this time?

No is a complete sentence. No one needs to qualify, elaborate, explain, or justify it. It means NO.

As for me, I say NO to ...
  1. people who only need me for something
  2. people who do not add value to my life
  3. people who only "love" me occasionally
  4. negativity
  5. sadness
  6. destructive behavior
  7. things and vibe that kill creativity
  8.  grudges
  9. people who do not appreciate me
I am already 35. I do not and will not tolerate these kind of things in my life. I deserve better. How about you? What do you say no to?
