Pinoy Pride

Recent brands have come out in the Philippines and I have a strong yearning to go out and buy these items. They are truly quirky and very much PINOY.

Three stars and a sun which is a clothing company started by Francis Magalona. I am Ninoy is another one. My Pilipinas is another one.

I feel proud to be Pinoy. I hope to have some of them in my closet soon.

Mommy!!!!!!!

This is what I hear whenever I get home in the morning after coming from work. A scream of Mommy and a big hug from my B. Nothing beats that feeling. Nothing will ever top that feeling of being loved unconditionally by an angel.
Mommy!!!!!

if you weren't worth it, they wouldn't bother

This is something that I've been told a few times in the past and I seriously thought that it was just a cliche uttered to try and comfort me when I feel miserable coz someone said nasty things about me that were not true. I thought the person who said it just wanted me to feel better about myself but did not really mean it. After all, I was nothing especial. I was just another teenage girl who looked pretty average.

I've come to realize now that this IS indeed true. I am worth it and this is why there are people who seems to want to get me down and will stop at nothing to get me down. I am worth it because I have so much to give and I know how to use the skills and talents that have been given to me.
  • I am pretty. Yes, I am not goddess material but I have a certain appeal that is favored by not only the male species but people in general.
  • I have charm and when I want to use it, I can be really really charming.
  • I am intelligent and smart. I know a lot of things bookwise and knowledge wise and I am learning more about being street smart and smart about life every single day.
  • I have hips and butt that JLo would kill for. Lol.
  • I may be "voluptuous" but I have really good skin.
  • I have VERY supportive family and friends. Few friends admittedly but they are very REAL and fiercely loyal.
  • I have a stable job.
  • Lastly, I know that I have God on my side.
So yes, I am worth it and this is why they bother to harass me, stalk me, try to drive me crazy, and threaten me with things. I will not let them get me down. Why? Coz they are not worth it.

things that I am thankful for

I'm in a bit of a dump and feeling a wee bit depressed. I don't like feeling this way so once again, I will list down things that I am thankful for and people that I treasure.
  1. my family who has always been there to support me
  2. relatives who love me and care for me
  3. J, who's a constant boulder to lean on
  4. work - it keeps me busy and it is a steady source of income for me
  5. my creativity - at least I have an outlet for all the angst that I am feeling
  6. sense of humor - as they say, everything can be overcome with a few bouts of laughter
  7. God - yes, believe it or not, I do believe in God
  8. most of all, my son, B who is the reason why I am still standing strong eventhough I am being beaten down by people left and right
This, too, shall pass.

stalk me much?

Seriously H and family, this is the best that you can do? Have someone call my Mom's house incessantly and call me names? That is so high school. What do you get out of it? You feel happy coz you kinda irritated me? Would that make me go back to you? Hell no. Would that make me want to be with you? Definitely no. Would that make me desire you again? That has not happened in 8 months and we've only been apart 1 month technically.

You are a loser. I really must have been crazy in love with you to not have seen that. You lied about so many things that I wonder if any part of our relationship was even true? You said you graduated with two degrees? Two degrees my foot. You didn't finish school. You don't have a diploma to prove it and your own family has admitted it. You resigned from that bank you worked for in the South? Hahahahahaha! You're AWOL! I wonder what the new company will think of that. You're Mr. Nice Guy, poor you to have such a hag of a partner in me, I wonder what your friends will think if they know hjow you punched me and pushed me off the bed when I was 5 months along.

You are a loser and stalking me will not change anything. You'd still be a loser and you will always be a loser.

Am I Cosmo enough?

I love the magazine Cosmopolitan. I get the latest fashion tips there, career moves to make, and other really helpful stuff but I most especially like the feature on the Cosmo women that they feature. It's really empowering.

At times though, I wonder if I am Cosmo enough. What is a Cosmo woman? They say that she is a go-getter. Check. They say that she is independent? Hmm ... I'm not so sure about this because I rely on family, friends, and J heavily. They say that she is strong and can weather any calamity. Check. They say that she is financially responsible. So not check. I will be starting today though. I think.

I guess I'm not as Cosmo as I would like to think I am. There is still that Maria Clara in me, there is still that scatterbrained girl in me, but there is also a Cosmo woman in me. I am a lot of things and I have a lot of facade which I think is a good thing. After all, isn't that what being truly Cosmo is all about?

i love HTML

unfortunately, it does not love me. I have learned to tweak here and there back in 2006 but it seems that along with the changing of the calendar, my so called html knowledge went out the door with it. Pooh!

A friend of mine asked me for help changing her blog design and I was pretty successful at doing it except for a teeny tiny fact. Her entire sidebar disappeared and I can't figure out what to do to get it back but maintain the design as is.

Any ideas?

blood is thicker than water

Truly, blood is thicker than water. This has been proven again today when H's father got all uppity and said words to me. Words that I never thought he would say.

I am glad he did. Now, I can really sever all ties with them. B will never set foot in their house. B will never know them except as memories. Call me a bad person, but everything that I've endured is just too much.

I pawned all my jewelries to pay for house and other things because he did not have money.
I have been cheated on.
I met the girl I was cheated with because he thought it was a good idea for us to meet.
I have been hurt physically, not just once.
I endured being told he did not love me anymore because I still loved him.
I have been insulted and insulted over again because I gained weight and did not lose it after giving birth.
I have been asked to do things one should never ever do.
I've knelt and asked forgiveness even when it is not my fault.
I've been kicked out of the house several times and begged to be allowed to stay.
I fell off a bus and he did not check on me immediately because he was attending a basketball game.
I was misled right from the very start of this so called relationship.

I accepted all this because of love. I refuse to be treated this way ever again. Nobody should ever be treated this way. I was an idiot. Please do not be an idiot.

So yes, blood is thicker than water. That's okay. I have my family too. Our blood is thicker coz we're real people, not people pretending to be good, perfect, and God fearing. We're humans and that makes us better people.

munimuni # 29

This week was pretty slow at work. I was a wee bit stressed because of some disharmony but it was bearable. I was able to spend some time with important people in my life which is pretty good too.

I'm very happy that my scrapbooks for the Baguio and Cebu trip are both done! Yey! I managed to finish the Cebu scrapbook in half a day. This is the 1st time that I have been able to do that. Yey me! YEY!

On a sad note though, a teen actor that I admire died earlier today in his sleep. He was just 20 years of age, same as my brother. It makes me feel sad coz he was so young and he had his whole future ahead of him but now, its all gone. =(

It made me remember once again that life is really fragile; that it can all be taken away in just a snap. He didn't go out, he didn't drink and drive ... all he did was go to sleep and WHAM! He's gone now.

So you people, know that I appreciate you reading my thoughts. Yes, even you my lurkers and stalkers. Lol.

And to my family, I love you. You know that. I tell you though I do not tell you enough. My son knows I love him with all the hugs and kisses he gets from me and the fact that I try to make as much time as I can with him. We dance and sing and draw and he just melts me.

My friends ... I love you. You have helped make me who I am and the fact that you accept me the way that I am ... THANK YOU.

What are you waiting for? Tell the ones you love you love them! NOW!

the case of the ex

I wonder ... how does one deal with pictures of an ex? An ex that you lived with in the same house for almost 4 years and who has given you a child. Normally, when its just a boyfriend, its pretty easy to delete all pictures and box stuff that he gave you to be placed in the back area of your closet. When its just a boyfriend, you can just simply forget what happened until the time that you are okay again and can look at pictures without becoming a sorry case for a sob story.
What if he was more than that? What if you were like me who tends to immortalize events in her life by scrapbooking? What to do now? Do I cover all pictures of him or tear it out to pretend that he never existed? Do I let it be and just pass by the pages quickly until I can look at his pictures without hurling?
I've never been in this situation before. I never thought I would be in this situation. Yet, here I am, wondering about the case of the ex.

sisterly help

The other day, my uber smart (read: lazy) sister remembered that she needed to make a calendar for her school. So of course the uber fabulous and creative sister (read: ME) helped her out. Look at what we came up with.

Not bad huh?

Miss Congeniality

You know how in the office there is always that one person who gets along with everyone? Yes, in this world where personalities are so diverse there is almost no one who is just exactly the same, there is one person who gets along WITH EVERYONE? Isn't that amazing?

I find that scary. Whenever I meet such person (lets call her Miss Congeniality,) I veer away. Yes, I may chat and do some small talk but I will definitely not be hanging out with this person. Miss Congeniality is the type who swings (not in that way pervert) but the type who will agree with you over something and when someone disagrees with you behind your back, will agree with that person too.

She has no spine. She has no principles. She definitely has no loyalty. See, you can never please everyone so when you manage to, it means you just flex to fit whoever you are with. I don't like that. I don't admire it. I don't recommend it.

Do you have a Miss Congeniality in your life?

my ideal mate

I used to want someone who was tall, at least 5'8 in height. I used to want someone who looked handsome and was muscular in built. I thought that it would feel really good when he would hug me. I wanted someone smart so that we can discuss anything and everything under the sun. I wanted someone who could make me laugh and who would laugh at my jokes. I wanted someone who would protect me but would let me stand on my own. I wanted someone who would write me letters and give me cards for no reason at all. I wanted a lot of things in my ideal mate. Some of them were extremes and unrealistic.

After 5 failed relationships, all of which caused me serious heartaches, a lot of tears, endless Starbucks coffee venting sessions ... I have realized some things.

I do not want someone who is tall. I want someone who will stand tall when he is with me because he is proud to be with me. I do not want someone who is handsome nor muscular in built. I want someone who feels he is handsome and muscular because he is with me. I want someone who feels good when he is with me. I want someone who would always hug me when he can and who would never turn me away when I hug him.

I do not want someone smart if he will belittle me or not care about my opinion. I want someone who is willing to learn new things about me and with me. I want someone who is willing to explore the world with me.

I do not want someone who would laugh at me but someone who will laugh with me. I want someone who will not jsut protect me but will let me take care of him as well. I want someone who will write me letters and love notes and will appreciate it when I write him letters and notes as well.

I want someone who will respect me and love me. I want someone who will love and accept my family and friends. I want someone who had the patience of Mother Teresa because I need him to understand my quirks and let me be me and allow me to learn and grow.

This is what I need in my partner. These are the things that matter most. These are my basic requirements. What are yours?

you don't bring me ...

This song has been playing on my mind for the last 15 minutes or so. I'm not sure if you guys know this song by Barbra Streisand.

You dont bring me flowers
You dont sing me love songs
You hardly talk to me anymore
When you come thru the door
At the end of the day.

It reminds me of a lot of things that are no longer part of the status quo. I was booking through one of my scrapbooks and I realized that I have not added to this specific scrapbook which houses greeting cards. It saddened me to know that the reason I have not added anything was because no one gives those out anymore, including me.

This is the cover of my scrapbook for cards. This holds a sentimental value to me because this was the only card I received from my Dad. The one and only card.

I miss that. I miss getting love notes, love letters, birthday cards, cards for no reason at all, or cards that tell me I'm special or what have you. In this time and age of Wall-to-Wall, IM, YM, testimonials, or SMS ... I believe that nothing beats getting a handwritten note from someone. A handwritten note is more personal and shows that the other person took time to get you a card, think of what to write, and actually write it down on paper. It is more tangible and can be read anytime we want.

I think people should still write love letters to one another. I think people should still give flowers and chocolates and stuff toys. I think people should still get that special person something that you know would make that person smile JUST BECAUSE. There is no need for a reason. Just because.

Isn't that more than enough reason? Why did you get me this? Just because.

JUST BECAUSE.
