Casa Roces

I met with my Fil-Chi friends last night at Casa Roces. It has been quite some time since I last saw them and I wanted to see them again. This night was more special though because I brought FM with me for them to meet.

I was pleasantly surprised upon seeing the exterior of the place.

It looked very posh and nice. I instantly felt comfortable. Below is a shot of the menu. I loved how they used an old man wearing a hat as their "logo/mascot."

My friends and I eventually got around to ordering. All 3 of them ordered Mushroom Pasta with Blue Cheese. I, on the other hand, was a bit more adventurous in what I ordered for the night.

trio mushroom with truffle oil P195
This one was hands down a winner. The 3 kinds of mushroom that they all mixed together blended really well with the truffle oil. It was smooth yet creamy. It was DELISH!

caesar salad with lengua croutons
I was kind of expecting the lengua croutons to be actual dried and squared lengua turned into croutons. However, what I got was lengua cut into crouton bar sized and served with croutons and fresh greens. This was actually pretty good as well.

Mushroom Pasta with Blue Cheese P189
I was only able to take a bite of this even though all my other companions ordered this.  However, the one bite that I had was more than enough to convince me that it seems everything on their menu was a hit.

Lamb Kaldereta with Risotto P525
This is my main dish, the lamb kaldereta with risotto rice. It was heavy, it was soft and chewy, and it was REALLY REALLY good. The lamb was cooked just right and the potato and risotto were just perfect for me.

Finally, I had the tsokolate EH!. I wanted to try tsokolate AH! as well but I had to stop myself for I have indulged much too much.

The tsokolate EH! tasted like chocnut that was turned into liquid. It was nutty, it was chocolatey, and it was definitely something that I have never tried before.

Overall, my friends and I had a fun night and I'm very happy that FM was able to converse with them and that we were able to have a relaxing, chill night.

As for Casa Roces, I am definitely recommending this place to everyone for the cozy interiors and ambience, EXCELLENT SERVICE that the staff provides and the wonderful food that the kitchen staff was able to whip. There was not a single dish that disappointed.

In fact, the only downfall was that I was not able to try the souffle because I was already too full. :(

Love from India ...

FM and family went to India last week. Even from India, he managed to convey his love to me. :)

Taj Mahal snow globe! :)

his pasalubong as well as R's pasalubong :)
As they say, when there's a will, there's a way. Thanks FM and R. :)

in your eyes ... I failed

You and I are not on good terms right now. I said words, so did you.

I know that I do not live up to your standards. I don't think anyone will. You are ... superwoman. I can even barely lift myself. You are what every woman needs to be ... I barely fit what a girl should be. You are this and that ... I am .... just me.

I look up to you ... so much. This is why it hurts when you tell me I am a failure as a Mom. I know that I am. I lack in so many things ... and I barely measure up to you.

But know that I do what I can ... I try to do what I can.

I just wish you'd see that.

Maybe you do ... maybe you don't ... but I try. It's hard but I try. I TRY.

This thing that happened ... I will take it as an opportunity to be better. I don't know how ... I don't know what I need to do but I will be better.

I just wish that when it happens ... you'd see that.

I wish.

Mr Ube Noodle House

I've always wanted to try this place ever since I've heard about it. I have always been a fan of Eng Bee Tin and I support Mr. Ube News via text. It was a sight to see when my sister and I saw this after about 4 hours of roaming Divisoria.

I ordered Mr Ube Specialty Noodles and K ordered Stir Fried Beef Stew. We were hungry.

The beef was tender and tasty ... the noodle was really, really big. It was such a big serving I could not finish it eventhough I was really hungry.

Overall, I'd definitely eat there again.

Zen Tea

I was able to try Zen Tea in Binondo. It was a milk tea place that I haven't tried before and I was curious to try it. I was going to try just the small size but the guy was able to convince me to get the XL size. Good decision because it was actually pretty good. I like that the wintermelon was not overpowering. The pearls were pretty good as well.

Overall, I'd definitely get a cup when I pass by Zen Tea. It's simple, it's sweet, and the price was really cheap too compared to other milk tea places.

happy me :)

be with me ...

I was single for almost 2 years. In that 2 years of not being with anyone, not having someone to call mine, not having someone permanent to talk to, laugh with, cry with, and be with, I got used to the fleeting moments with different boys. I got used to seeing someone for a month or so and moving on to the next guy the next month.

I was coveted ... but I was never wanted.

They would date me ... give me flowers ... spin me around town ... but to a certain extent only. I was that girl they would parade around town, the one they'd show off at times, the one they would talk to till the wee hours of the morning, and the one they would tell their problems to.

I was not the girl they could commit to. I just wasn't. Either they couldn't ... or they weren't ready to be in a relationship.

It hurt but I never let anyone see that. What they saw was someone who was enjoying dating around and fleeting like a butterfly in a garden full of roses ... or thorns.

Then he came along and I got scared. I got scared because ...

He wanted me. He really wanted me. He wanted me in his life, a part of his life, and a part of the world he lives in. He wanted me there, front row and center. He didn't want me on the sidelines. He didn't want me after hours when no one is looking. He wanted me there with him, for all the world to see.

He didn't mind that I blog him. He posted on his facebook that we were together. He introduced me to his family and friends. He wanted me. He was proud of me, OF US.

A few months ago, I posted this on my wall.

I wrote: "then I muse be very careful in getting my 6th since I plan to make him my last

I completely forgot about this until FM liked the photo and pointed it out to me. He was my 6th. And so, today, I edited this to make it more fitting.

We talked one time about what could make us fight badly. We couldn't think of one. You see ... we like the same things and have the same thoughts about how relationships should be. I know its too early but I just have a good feeling about this.

I know that my 6th is my last because he will be with me until the day we die.

because B is the BOMB!

He graduated. Yes, he graduated. On our first year of going to school and skipping nursery and kinder, we managed to get through the prep stage and graduate ... WITH HONORS!

Oooohhhhh yeah! My baby rocks!

See? And here he is, with 3 performances because he's just THAT talented. Yep, stage mother PRESENT!

After, I went to treat my angels who have helped ensure that B would get through school with flying colors.

These are priceless moments.

Mind Museum and a bunch of kids ...

It was the first time that my kid and his kids would meet. I brought along my little sister K and B, he brought along R and V. It was 2 adults, 3 teens, and a kid. It was a nightmare in my head because I don't know how to handle that many kids but FM was all chill and relax. I grabbed comfort in that fact.

We go there a few minutes before it happened. First fail of the day: FM did not bring his camera and we got a paper saying "taking photos is allowed." He was heartbroken LOL.

While waiting, the kids went around the play area. This is the only shot I managed to take of them as a group. They were too busy.

While in line, I posed with them. I think I could still pass as an elder sister? What do you think?

We had fun. Seriously. The kids were behaved and the teenagers got along so well. I was amazed, impressed, and more than anything, grateful. My nightmare turned into a beautiful dream. As for FM and I, we managed to spend quality time while overlooking 3 teenagers and a kid.

Here are random shots of that wonderful day.

I love how they all gamely pose for the camera.

Chillin' with the Boys

We were stressed with everything happening at work. One day, we decided to chill and relax. Of course it was a foregone conclusion that we would get lost; E being the novice driver that he is in Makati, it was a no-brainer. So while we were getting lost in Makati, I took a shot of us.

See? We were still laughing eventhough we have been going around for more than 30 minutes in the much deserted streets of Makati since it was a Holy Week.

We ended up in a bar somewhere near A-Venue Hotel. Finally, we met the one we've been wanting. TA-DA!

Hahahaha. Yep, we went drinking to unwind. I had a bottle, they had 2.5 each. We also ordered Yang Chow where I had 2.5 plate and they had 2 each as well as Tuna Sisig and Sweet and Sour pork. Obviously, I was dead hungry because I don't even have a photo of the food. By the time we had dinner, it had been 8 hours since my last meal.

We chatted mostly about work, business ideas, and the lack of a lovelife for them both and the fact that I finally have a lovelife. It was a fun night albeit a bit time limited. We had work the next day so we couldn't stay out too late. Still, I had fun chillin' with the boys and I'm really glad that I have these two cool guys to hang out with from work.

Meet Up with Cheng

I met her a couple of years ago when I was still with B's dad and working for an internet research company. I knew that she didn't really like me at first because I was snobbish. To be honest, I didn't talk much to other people because I had lost all respect I had in me because of what B's dad did. So there.

Luckily, she and I were given the chance to be in one place and we started talking. The talking led to a friendship and years later, we met up again to catch up on life and for her to give me some words of wisdom on relationships and what not.

We met at Golden Spoon in Ayala Triangle. She ordered bottled water, I ordered Cake Batter with Mochi toppings. To those who don't know, Golden Spoon is the only yoghurt place that I would eat at. The rest, goes straight to the bin.

cake batter with mochi toppings

It has been over 4 years and yet when we met, it was like old times. She and I talked like no years passed. We touched base and I loved the confidence I see in her. She seems more serene now than she was 4 year or so ago.

I'm glad I made time for her. I'm glad she made time for me.

Moonleaf Tea Shop

Last week, FM and I decided to drop by Moonleaf. I was once again craving for milk tea and instead of getting Share Tea, I decided to get Moonleaf. R and V were with us but it was only R who wanted to get milk tea as well. FM parked the car outside and R and I trooped inside.

The moment we went down, screams started. A cockroach was on the floor, part of our welcoming committee. It was a good thing that the roach got scared as well. It immediately hid itself from sight.

Inside  the milk tea place, there were no roaches thankfully. However, there were a lot of people. After a few minutes, we were able to order and then we saw these.

We ordered 2 of each  and I can definitely say that I will be back for more of the Pistachio ones. It was SO GOOD. Seriously. The red velvet and chocolate were okay but the pistachio was just really, really good.

As for the wintermelon milk tea, yep, it was definitely better with the black pearl compared to the red pearls they had back in Valentines.

God's best ...

I prayed for you ... all my life ... I have waited for you. They told me you existed. I told them you did not. It has been too long ... it has been over 30 years.

I prayed for you ... all my days ... I have waited for you. They told me you would come. I told them you wouldn't. It has been too long ... too many moments have lapsed.

I prayed for you ... with all my heart ... I have waited for you. They told me you were real. I told them you were just an imagination. It has been too long ... too many time has passed.

But you came ... and my prayers have been answered. Now, I just need to make sure that I never wake up from this dream.
