Ways to Stay Safe at Home during the Covid 19 Pandemic

Now that we are all going through the fight with Covid 19, we need to fortify our homes. We need to ensure that the bacteria will not live long enough to spread in our home to avoid infecting our loved ones.

But, how do we do that?

1. Do not bring in shoes that you used outside. If you are still going out and about, make sure that you only use one pair of shoes and that those shoes get disinfected outside the home, preferably under the heat of the sun to help kill off any bacteria that may have attached to the soles of your shoes.

2. If you came from outside, do not touch the door, railings, or anything. Go straight to the bathroom and take a nice, long, warm bath. Make sure to scrub and wash thoroughly.

3. Practice social distancing for the first two hours. Do not kiss, hug, or hold hands with anyone in your household. This should help ensure that any leftover bacteria will be gone by the time you actually hold a loved one.

4. Sanitize daily. Clean your home every day and make sure to disinfect areas that are constantly used.

5. Wash your hands. This cannot be said enough times.

6. Wear a mask if you are sneezing or coughing a lot. This helps to protect the people at your home and keep the virus from spreading.

7. Always stay connected and set up personal notifications. Stay tuned to official channels of information. You can follow along on TV or radio and can easily set up notifications for important social media accounts such as the Department of Health (@DOHgovph on Twitter) or news sites. You can even set up Google Alerts to monitor for updates about COVID-19 around the internet.

  5. It is so important to follow precautions! For the mean time we are currently quarantined. Hopefully more people will stay home and lessen the spread so that we won't be isolated as long.

  11. Thanks for sharing these tips. I never thought of social distancing for 2 hrs, we just go straight to the bathroom to take a shower. I also heard that the clothes you used outside must be washed immediately or exposed under sunlight to kill the virus, if there is any.

Hi! Let's all try to add more positivity in this world and adhere to the saying, "if you don't have anything nice to say, keep silent."

Showering you with unicorn poop so you'd always stay magical! Heart heart!
