on messaging someone first ....
Recently, I realized that I really am not that good when it comes to this whole dating or not dating thing. It is a fiasco I tell you. I overthink, do not think, overanalyze, do not think or analyze at all, and what not in between.
In short, I kinda drive myself crazy with things I really shouldn't and it is very much exhausting. Yes, it is exhausting.
You see, there WAS this guy that I liked and at first I didn't really care who messaged who first but eventually, it was about, "I shouldn't message him first. I don't want to appear desperate." against, "I used to message or he would and I didn't really care who messaged whom first and it was cool."
Yes, I also used WAS because I am slowly realizing that he has friendzoned me and so I need to put him in the same category. *mini heartbreak*
Then I met two other guys who were interesting to talk to and with them, because I wasn't emotionally invested yet, I'd wake up and say "Good morning!" and not worry if they think I was too forward or what not because it was just really me saying good morning. If they think otherwise, that's their problem, not mine.
So I think that from now on I will just send a message to whoever I wanna send it to, my crush or not, and if they think anything of it, that's their problem and concern, not mine. Right?
Right?

305/365 photoblog: KEN
My Mom gave me this as a gift. I love it. I had one when I was much younger which also came from her but I lost it. I feel reconnected to my childhood because of this.
Dove, I am Beautiful
Dove has always been one of the brands that consistently promotes loving the skin you are in. It is because of this campaign that I am supportive of the brand and everything it stands for. Thankfully, I have been tapped by them to help spread the word.
A day after my birthday, I got this cake from Dove. The aim here is to get people to admit and say that they are beautiful regardless of their age.
I am 34 years old officially and I finally found the drive to look good, feel good, an do things to ensure that I will be fitter, healthier, and overall just a much better person.
Thank you Dove for sending over this cake and some items to ensure that I will always have soft, beautiful skin to give me the confidence I need to love the skin I'm in.

L-Gluthathione Magic Cream
This magic cream is actually very useful as a base for putting on make up. It allows the make up to stay longer on the face which means that there is almost no need for retouch throughout the day. The magic cream is also not sticky and I only need a small amount and it easily spreads all throughout my face and neck.
I think this small bottle will last about a month or two if used daily but if not, it could actually last about 3-4 months. To order, you can go here.

Thai Tofu Lotion
This brand is from Thailand. This was part of the set of Thai products that were sent to me for review. Now anyone who reads this blog knows that I am not a fan of lotion simply because I find it sticky and hot. Living in tropical country and being always on the go, this is something that I do not want to feel so early in the morning.
This tofu lotion is not that sticky but I would advise putting on black clothing immediately after putting it on. Possibly due to the tofu ingredient in the lotion, the pigmentation of the white cream tends to stain the black cloth.
I loved how easily this is absorbed by the skin. It's very creamy and yet it is absorbed by the skin real quick. This is how I like my skin lotion. As for the aroma, there is a very faint smell that is left on the skin. It's not too strong but its definitely distinct.
Benefits of the tofu lotion is whitening and deep moisturizing. Priced between Php390 - Php450, this is quite a steal already because the product is pretty effective. To purchase, you can go here.

Halloween Fright Night
I've never attended a Halloween event. The only time I did was back in the 90s with my Mom and it was more of a street party but I did not dress up for that. This time around, I finally had the guts to dress up and be part of the scary crowd that roamed the streets of the city.
My friend dressed up as a sexy vamp and I went looking like a distressed harlequin doll. It was kinda freaky looking at myself in the mirror and in photos.
Another blogger friend of mine dressed up as the mother of Annabelle and honestly, it was very freaky. Whenever she would hold up the doll, it was more than enough to send chills.
I think we took our dressing up to a whole new level. I missed posing and this provided a really good opportunity for me too. I can definitely see myself dressing up again next year. Do I look like a distressed harlequin doll?

Enervon Prime 50s dance
Can you imagine your Lolo and Lola dancing their hearts out to songs from the 50's? I'm sure you can but most likely, the setting or scenario in your head is that of them when they were much younger and can actually dance without breaking any bones. With Enervon Prime, it is actually now possible for our beloved seniors to be able to do that and the 50s dance we recently attended validated that.
My friend and I dressed up and this is our best version of the 50s.I'm not too sure that we looked like people from the 50s but we really did try.
It was so amazing watching a lot of the seniors dance, mingle, and generally have fun.
I also had the chance to meet the legendary RJ Jacinto.
I'm really happy that Enervon Prime is able to provide sustenance to ensure that our seniors can live more and be more. It's uplifting having an event like this and I'm really happy to support them. If its something that my Lola can use, then its something that I want to support.

Magical Moment with John Lloyd
Magic Flakes has been creating magical moments for ordinary citizens by having the ever charming John Lloyd Cruz go around the Philippines and surprising random people with spectacular prizes or simply sharing some Magic goodies with them.
The Magic Chips are my favorite amongst all because they fill you up in a healthy way. I like that I can have my son take it to school as part of his recess time and that I can also eat it when I am working at home.
The great news is that Magic revised their look and now it looks more hip and updated.
Now Magic wanted to ensure that we all had our very own magic moment and boy did I really have my own magic moment. I volunteered to be part of a skit wherein we had to reenact an upcoming commercial. Unbeknownst to me, John Lloyd was actually there and to say that I lost my poise would be an understatement.
Thank you so much Magic and Universal Robina for giving me a magic moment. For those who would like to know how they can have their own magic moment ...

Village Tavern
My idea of a tavern was actually that of a dark place filled with wenches and drunkards. Thankfully, the Village Tavern wasn't anything like that. In reality, it was a very classy place that uses dark wooden colors giving it a masculine and homey feeling.
We first tried the Chorizo and Goat Cheese Rolls (Php295) which is Spanish Chorizo and goat cheese served with home made salsa. It was actually pretty good and tasty. The combination of the chorizo and cheese was pretty good.
The Sesame Chicken Teriyaki Wings (Php245) was sweet and tangy. I honestly wanted to eat more but was well aware that I had to cut down on food intake. I guess I need to stay away from these while I am working on losing weight.
The Grilled Chicken Penne (Php450) was absolutely perfect. The caramelized onion paired with the chicken, pasta, and pancetta just worked so well with each other. The cream wasn't overpowering. The chicken was cooked really well and the pasta was al dente.
The Shrimp Portofino (Php450) was cooked in garlic, fresh basil, and parmesan tossed with ttucine and homemade Tuscan sauce. It was pretty good but it wasn't a favorite. Its not a waste of money that much I can say.
After pasta, we also got some pizza. Since I like trying out new things, I decided to get the Forest Pizza and the Black Pizza.
The Forest Pizza contains asiago cream sauce topped with wild mushrooms and walnuts topped with mozzarella, parmesan cheese, and truffle oil. This is definitely a pizza for vegetarians.
The Black Pizza, which contains gruyere, mozzarella, pepperoni, mushrooms, bell peppers, and onions. The black pizza was quite unique but nothing outstanding. It's more of a novelty actually.

Flying Trapeze
Whenever the bus or car I am in goes up a flyover, I can't make myself look out the window. This is how extreme my fear of height is. I feel faint and quesy whenever I do so. It's weird but I feel like I am on the edge of falling over even though I am safely tucked inside a moving vehicle.
However, I do like looking at people when they fly in the air when they do their flying trapeze act. I find it fascinating and I find it mesmerizing. I envy them for what they do because I cannot do it, or so I thought.
A co-blogger managed to convince me to try out the flying trapeze. For some weird reason, I said yes. OMIGOSH! I said yes. This is me before I went up to something that will forever change my life.
On the way up, I wanted to back down. I was thinking, "yeah, this is crazy. I don't need to do this." then I switch to "I will overcome my fear and get it over and done with. I can do this OH NO CAN I DO THIS?"
At this point, I just completely focused on the words of the man who was guiding me upstairs. This was probably the most vulnerable position I could be in because they could easily push me and I'd be airborne and not be able to do anything about it.
And I am off! What a rush it was to fly in the air and just whoop out the loudest scream that I could muster. It was so loud that people in the neighboring tents actually came out to have a look at what was happening. Eeekkk!
After several swings, I was finally told to let go and so I did. It was so liberating to be honest. It felt really good to just scream out all my fears and frustration and to actually just fly in the air.
Thank you flying trapeze for this experience. It is definitely one of a kind.
