Cerima Homemade Cakes and Pastries

I received a wonderful surprise in the mail yesterday. The guard informed me that I had a package and this is what was delivered.

This box of Chewy Almond Slice came in the mail today and it came at around 4pm today which is normally the time we have our merienda. My son and sister were both very happy upon seeing it.

A box contains 15 slices.

I love that it had a slightly toasted outer but upon biting it, its soft and slightly chewy. I would have preferred it to be a bit more chewy but then that's just me. The taste was really good. Too good that I only got to eat 2 slices before everything disappeared.

Even B gave it the thumbs up sign. To order these heavenly goodies, see picture below. Trust me, its worth your money.

Baguio's Tree Top Adventures

Since 2014, I have made it a point to try out rides and things that would normally scare the living daylights out of me. When I learned that I was being given the chance to feature Tree Top Adventures on my blog and try the rides for free, I was ecstatic.

The first thing that's done when you get there is a briefing. They will inform you of the rules and the do's and don'ts when trying out the different rides at the Tree Top Adventure.

I was supposed to try the Tree Drop Adventure but apparently, my hips were too wide for the harness. It fit but it fit too well. I hope they have a bigger harness in the future for plus size people. In my place, it was the daughter of a friend who tried it. You can view the video here

After the Tree Drop Adventure, the next stop was the Canopy ride. It was quite a relaxing ride as long as you don't look down and see the forest where you could drop. There were 3 stops for this so by the third one, you're actually pretty relaxed already. Each stop takes about 2 minutes and since you're seating comfortably while hanging from a rope, you get to have a full view of everything.

Canopy Ride
After the canopy ride, it was time for Silver Surfer. Silver Surfer in my own words is the Anchors Away on foot. To understand, watch this.

It was the scariest ride of my life. Dangling on air with just a small piece of metal protecting me from possibly breaking bones was not fun for someone like me. For daredevils like my siblings though, they will definitely love it. I actually fainted after this experience. It was that scary for me.

They also have the Superman Zipline which I was not able to do anymore because of what happened to me after. I felt sad because I really wanted to try this zipline since I have done more than 3 ziplines and felt that this was something I could actually do.

Overall, I loved Tree Top Adventure and I can't wait to bring my family there and have my siblings try the rides.

Enervon Prime 70's dance

The 70s was a roaring era and the music was simply amazing. Enervon Prime recognizes that and so they held an event a couple of weeks ago to bring back the 70's. Of course the people who were born during that time would be a bit older now and some may even have rickety bones but with the help of Enervon Prime, they were able to rock and roll the night away.

Truthfully, I was the one who felt old because I got tired from all the swinging and twirling that they were doing. Thankfully, this Enervon Prime shake was more than enough to give me a good boost to last a few more hours. The best part of it was that it tasted so good too. Awesome!

Luxe Aura Face and Nail Studio

One of the things that I look at when I visit a nail studio are the seats. I want to ensure that if I am spending at least 3 hours on a nail spa place, I would be comfortable so when I saw the chairs at Luxe Aura, I felt very happy because it was individualized and it was very comfortable.

It was also a very good thing that they have massive number of choices for nail polish, from organic to gel polish which lasts 3-4 weeks. Since I had an event to attend to, I chose the white and glittery Gellish nail polish.

We started with an espresso foot spa. I know, I know, even with a foot treatment, I go for espresso. I just really love my coffee and the smell of it wafting while getting my feet cleaned and pampered is just plain heaven.

I love that it reaches up to my knees. I felt that they were very lavish in pampering me. I've experienced nail spas before where they only do it till your ankle and I'm always left feeling cheated. Thankfully with Luxe Aura, this was so not the case.

After they rub the treatment on your legs, they then wrap it in cling wrap which was not something new.

However, the hot towel being wrapped ont he cling wrap was definitely something new and OMIGOSH super relaxing and awesome. Seriously. It was just so relaxing.

After more than 20 minutes, they finally take it off and they clean your legs. I love how careful the nail technicians were. I almost always get wounded because I have dry skin on the inside of my big toes but this time around, they were able to get it without any drama.

They also used this LED machine to dry the gel polish asap.

TA-DA! See how my pedicure turned out? It's been a week already and everything is still peachy. I love, love, love this Gellish polish from Luxe Aura.

Thank you so much Luxe Aura for my beautiful nails. It really is long lasting.

Oral B launches Smile Pilipinas

One of the things that people always look at when they meet someone is their smile. When people smile, it tells you a lot of things. However, not everyone is comfortable smiling because some people have rotten teeth or yellowish ones.

You see, though the Filipino is very much into personal hygiene, a lot of Filipinos are not so into dental hygiene because a lot of them do not have the means or grew up scared of the dentist. This is something that the UP Dental Association of the Philippines, along with Oral B would like to change by launching Smile Pilipinas and their brand ambassador, Miss Iza Calzado is definitely on board with all the plans.

During the launch which coincided with the centennial celebration of UP College of Dentistry (UPCD) and spearheaded by UPDAA, the three focus areas of the program were presented, namely, Advocacy, Public Good and Fund Raising.

Under communication, Smile Pilipinas will call upon Filipinos – inside and outside of the Philippines -- to get onboard and help spread inspiration for better oral health. The program has  five fundamental messages: 1) Our smiles are fundamental to our identity, 2) Let’s bring oral health within reach of all Filipinos, 3) Everyone can easily help improve oral health in the country, 4) We need to take care of our children’s teeth, and 5) We should all practice better oral health care habits.

Shared Mission for Sustainable Living

I have always been choosy about the brands that I support and one of the reasons I support Unilever is because their products are always effective and within my means. The other reason is that they always partner with other brands and come up with awesome campaigns that support the environment and communities.

Three industry leaders—Unilever, through its number one laundry brand Surf, Smart Communications and Cebuana Lhuillier—have renewed their commitment to champion environmental sustainability. With their shared mission to improve Filipino lives, the partners launched the third year of their Sachet Recovery Program. Through their joint efforts to create a process that is easy, convenient and rewarding, the program involves and educates more consumers about sustainability and waste recycling.

“We owe the Sachet Recovery program’s success these past two years to the valuable contributions of Smart Communications and Cebuana Lhuillier. This year, their bigger participation will definitely produce greater results for the benefit of the environment and Filipino communities,” Jawa said.

Since 2013, the Sachet Recovery Program has been teaching proper waste segregation and recycling by encouraging millions of Filipinos to collect empty Surf sachets in exchange for free Smart texts at any Cebuana Lhuillier branch nationwide.

“As we enter the third year of this worthy undertaking, Smart is expanding its support for this program.  Starting this year, Talk ‘N Text and Sun subscribers will also be able to exchange their Surf sachets for free SMS. This opens the door to engaging millions more of Filipinos in this endeavor,” said Napoleon Nazareno, Smart Communications President and CEO.

Cebuana Lhuillier, on the other hand, will add newly-opened outlets to facilitate the redemption of Surf sachets. “Our growing branch network, which now totals close to 2,000 outlets, will provide a convenient way for millions of consumers nationwide to participate in the Sachet Recovery Program,” said Jean Henri Lhuillier, Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO.

During the event, the partners also donated 7,000 cement pavers to the Mandaluyong Elementary School. The construction materials—made from hundreds of thousands of shredded empty sachets—will form pathways to improve school grounds and make walking around the school more convenient for students.
