My First Cricut Sticker Project: Lessons and Things I Loved

When I finally created my first sticker set with my Cricut, I felt like I had opened a whole new world of crafting. Of course, it did not start perfectly. The very first time I tried, I made a rookie mistake and printed on the wrong side of the sticker paper. For a moment, I thought I had completely wasted the sheet, but then I watched Cricut cut it so smoothly that I realized mistakes are part of the journey. That little win gave me the confidence to try again, and this time, I got it right.

Here are the things I loved most about creating my first Cricut sticker set.

1. Cricut makes clean, smooth cuts

One of the most satisfying things about using a Cricut is how precise the cuts are. Whether it was a small detail or a bigger outline, the machine handled it effortlessly.

I thought making stickers would take a lot of time and effort, but it was surprisingly quick and easy. Seeing those perfectly cut chibi cartoons come to life was a moment of pure happiness. I felt so proud of myself.

2. Maximizing space with Cricut Design Space

I used Cricut Design Space for my layout, and it really helped me make the most of an 8x11 sticker paper. With a bit of arranging and resizing, I was able to fit several stickers on one sheet without wasting space. This is such a big deal for anyone who wants to get the most out of their materials, especially when working with specialty sticker paper.

3. Learning is simple with guides and tutorials

I initially thought using Cricut would be complicated, but it turns out that as long as you take the time to read the guides or watch the tutorials, it is very beginner-friendly. Each step is explained clearly, and once you get the hang of it, the process feels natural.

4. The Cricut community is so supportive

Aside from the machine itself, one of the best parts about this journey is discovering the Cricut Facebook group. Members are generous with their knowledge, sharing tips, tricks, and hacks that make projects so much easier. It feels like being part of a creative circle where everyone just wants to see each other succeed.

My first Cricut sticker project reminded me that crafting is equal parts creativity, patience, and community. I started with a mistake, but I ended with a sheet of stickers that I was proud of. Sa wakas, I can now make my own stickers!

Cricut made it easy, fun, and so rewarding. If you are thinking of making your own stickers, I can say from experience that Cricut is worth every bit of excitement.

A Foodie’s Paradise: Our Culinary Adventure at Solaire Resort North

When my family and I visited Solaire Resort North, we honestly didn’t expect to be so spoiled with food choices. Every corner seemed to offer something new, something mouthwatering, and something worth trying. It truly felt like a foodie’s paradise, and we left with happy hearts and even happier tummies.

Yakumi, A Japanese Feast Worth Every Bite

One of the highlights for us was Yakumi, Solaire’s Japanese restaurant. Their Sunday brunch is an absolute must-try. The sashimi alone is worth the trip. So fresh, it felt like it was prepared straight from the ocean to our plate. Add in the variety of Japanese dishes, and you’ve got a brunch that’s not only satisfying but also unforgettable.

Red Lantern, Sobrang Sulit Dim Sum

If you’re a fan of dim sum, then Red Lantern will feel like heaven. They have a dim sum buffet that’s sobrang sulit. From perfectly steamed dumplings to crispy rolls, every bite was bursting with flavor. The place itself feels warm and inviting, making it the kind of restaurant where family gatherings instantly feel special. This is also where you will find the Kataifi. They have been serving this dessert for a long time now, and it has been a favorite of ours for years.

Finestra: Romance, Elegance, and Impeccable Service

For something more intimate, Finestra is the place to go. It’s a fine dining Italian restaurant that’s perfect for date nights—whether you’re rekindling romance or sparking something new. The ambiance is elegant and refined, the service is truly impeccable, and every dish feels like a labor of love. What makes it even more special is their private room, which can host up to 20 people. With a consumable rate of ₱100,000 to ₱120,000, it’s perfect for those milestone celebrations.

Fresh Buffet, So Many Choices, So Little Time

When we checked in, we made sure to try Fresh Buffet—and honestly, it’s one of the best buffets we’ve ever had. From hearty Filipino favorites to international picks, there’s just so much to choose from. Breakfast is also a treat because you can enjoy it by the poolside, which adds a touch of relaxation to the whole experience. Imagine sipping coffee while the morning sun reflects on the pool. It's the perfect way to start the day.

Pizza, Gelato, and a Food Court That Surprises

Of course, the food journey doesn’t stop with the main restaurants. There’s a cozy pizza place serving fresh-out-of-the-oven pies and creamy gelato that my kids adored. And for those on a budget, Solaire Resort North has a huge food court with so many options. The real star? Their doughnuts. They’re big, generously filled, and only cost ₱100. A steal considering the quality.

A Foodie Heaven for Everyone

Walking through the restaurants and food halls of Solaire Resort North with my family, I realized that this place isn’t just for the fancy nights out. Sure, it has world-class dining and elegant fine dining spots, but it also has affordable, sulit finds for those who just want a good meal without breaking the bank.

If you’re looking for a place where food becomes more than just a meal, where it becomes a shared experience with family and friends, then Solaire Resort North is the place to be. Don’t be intimidated. There is truly something for everyone here.

Book Launch of Architect Gilbert Yu Celebrates a Life Built from Zero to Skyscrapers

Celebrated architect and developer Gilbert Yu is inspiring the next generation of architects with hard-earned wisdom drawn from over three decades in the industry. Known for his pioneering iconic projects, Yu distills his experience into essential lessons for future practitioners.

Yu sums up the lessons in his biography The Life and Adventures of Architect Gilbert Yu, written by award-winning journalist Iris Gonzales.

The book tells the inspiring journey of a young man who dared to dream and persevered through life’s challenges to achieve those dreams. It offers an inside and intimate look at an extraordinary success story that began with the most humble of beginnings.

A Filipino-Chinese born and raised in Manila, Yu would become not just one of the country’s most prominent and successful architects of his time, but also an enduring pillar of Philippine architecture. His story is a timeless blueprint for triumph, shared prosperity, and lasting success.

Some lessons he wants to impart to architects:

Lesson 1: Architecture goes beyond design
“Architecture is not just about designing structures—it’s about building lives,” Yu said. “Every structure must have purpose, be designed with excellence, and built for permanence.”

Lesson 2: Architects must be knowledgeable in business
Yu believes architects should understand property value, project feasibility, and market trends to ensure success. “Architects must also be development consultants, not just technical people,” he noted, urging schools to integrate business and entrepreneurship into architectural education.

Lesson 3: Architects must be forward-thinking
Designs should anticipate shifts in landscapes, lifestyles, and technology, enabling structures to stand the test of time.

Yu’s philosophy can be summed up in his personal mantra: “Zero plus zero plus zero equals 100.”Starting with no knowledge, no experience and no resources, he built a thriving career and landmark projects through determination and resilience.

“A project starts from zero before becoming an iconic landmark,” Yu said. “With vision and dedication, architects can transform the impossible into reality.”

TGP has long been the name Filipino families turn to when it comes to quality, affordable medicine. With a legacy built on trust, reliability, and nationwide accessibility, TGP has matched all this with a simple but powerful mission: to promote healthcare inclusivity for every Filipino household.

In line with this, TGP today launches a new campaign that underscores what has always been true: Pag dating sa quality, dapat TGP Generics.

While generics medicine has become more widely accepted in recent years, TGP has been leading the charge since day one, starting out as a small pharmaceutical company called Pacific Insular Company in 1949.

Championing quality, effective, and safe medicines at affordable prices in the country, the company focused on generic medicines to provide Filipinos with more affordable alternatives.

Today, through the new campaign, TGP continues that mission with the same commitment to quality and affordability, and with even more urgency as Filipinos become more discerning about their health choices.

Leading the campaign is award-winning actress and beloved mother, wife, and daughter, Judy Ann Santos. Following in the footsteps of other trusted Filipino personalities, Judy Ann brings her own brand of authenticity to the campaign.

Known for being hands-on with her family, Juday chooses only what’s best for her loved ones including the medicine they take. Her message is clear and simple: Siguraduhin ang Quality: Dapat TGP Generics!

This moment was made even more meaningful as Judy Ann is joined by her mother, also a proud TGP endorser—showing how trust in TGP Generics spans generations.

With over 2,100 stores nationwide and years of generic medicine expertise, TGP remains committed to providing quality generics that Filipinos can rely on every day.

Whether it's for managing chronic conditions, treating everyday illnesses, or boosting daily immunity, one thing remains clear: when it comes to generic medicine & supplements that give the best value-for-money: Dapat TGP Generics!

RLC Residences Empowers Little Champions to Raise Their Game at IRONKIDS Lapu-Lapu

The RLC Residences Junior Triathlon team together with their coaches during the Family Day event held at Dusit Thani Mactan.

The sun was just rising over the shores of Lapu-Lapu City when hundreds of young athletes gathered for the IRONKIDS Lapu-Lapu race this past weekend at Dusit Thani Mactan. But for RLC Residences, proud partner of the event, the day was never just about who crossed the finish line first—it was about shaping children into champions in life.

As the final leg of this year’s IRONKIDS Philippines series, the swim-run race brought together kids from across the country to take on the challenge with grit, joy, and sportsmanship. This year’s event also made history, hosting the biggest delegation in IRONKIDS history—a celebration of the growing passion for the sport among young athletes nationwide. Alongside the excitement of the competition, moments of perseverance, encouragement, and camaraderie shone through—reminding everyone that the true measure of victory goes beyond medals.

“At RLC Residences, raising little champions means empowering families to guide and support young athletes within a caring community,” said Karen Cesario, Senior Director and Marketing Head of RLC Residences. “From starting with just eight kids in our Junior Triathlon Team to now proudly having twenty from Luzon, Cebu, and Davao, we’ve seen a growing interest from high-aspiring athletes eager to be part of the team. Through opportunities like the RLC Residences IRONKIDS races, we aim to help them develop the skills, discipline, and confidence that will raise their game for the future.”

Amy Takei (middle, podium) clinched first place in the 6–8-year-old female category, joined by RLC Residences Marketing Head Karen Cesario (leftmost) and RLC Residences mascot Bob the Bear (rightmost).

Beyond the strong sense of community, the day also shone with outstanding performances. Three members of the RLC Residences Junior Triathlon Team proudly made it to the podium: Amy Takei claimed 1st place in the 6–8 years old female category, while Johan Benedict Santos earned 1st place in the 6–8 years old male category, and Xavier Benedict Belleza secured 3rd place in the same category.

Johan Benedict Santos (middle, podium) and Xavier Benedict Belleza (right, podium) won first and third place, respectively, in the 6–8-year-old male category, joined by RLC Residences Marketing Head Karen Cesario (leftmost) and RLC Residences mascot Bob the Bear (rightmost).

Prior to the race, RLC Residences hosted its Family Day—a signature pre-race event introduced two years ago to bring young athletes and their families together for camaraderie and the joy of preparing as one. Filled with fun games, friendly challenges, and shared laughter, the gathering embodied the brand’s belief that children thrive when supported by both loved ones and a caring community.

“The growing interest from passionate young athletes to join our team is both humbling and inspiring,” said Karen Cesario. “It tells us that what we’re building goes beyond race day, it’s a mission where kids see themselves as future triathletes, and parents see a community that will help shape their children’s potential. This is the kind of energy we want to nurture, because it fuels not just individual wins, but a culture of striving and belonging.”

RLC Residences Triathlon team, who competed during the IRONMAN 70.3 Lapu-Lapu

Adding to the weekend’s celebrations, RLC Residences Junior Triathlon coaches Ronald Molit and Alex Martin—together with proud IRONKIDS dads Hiroshi Takei (father of Amy Takei) and Nemiel Santos (father of Johan Benedict Santos)—joined other members of the RLC Residences Triathlon Team in competing at the prestigious IRONMAN 70.3 Lapu-Lapu. Their participation showed the young athletes that passion, discipline, and resilience have no age limit. They also turned in impressive results, with Takei placing 6th in the Men’s 50–54 category and the relay team of Paulo Cañas, Atty. Manley Cardinez and Rafael Silerio finishing 14th overall.

By championing initiatives like IRONKIDS, RLC Residences continues to create opportunities for young people as it recognizes the sport’s bigger role in children’s overall development.
