25/365 photoblog: Zipline

I conquered my fear of ziplines and actually had fun doing this. It was so exhilarating. :)

23/365 photoblog: Jeje

She has been my friend since we started working in my present company. She's one of the few gems I was able to find there. I am blessed that she exists.

21/365 photoblog: I give up!

Something light to make me smile today amidst all the tragedies happening. This is one of those days you just wanna curl up in bed and let the week pass by. Sigh.

Life, sometimes you are way too challenging for comfort.

Big Guys Pizza

One of my brothers said he wanted to try Big Guys Pizza. This is located along Alabang Zapote Road, near RFC Plaza. Last Friday, I had two 20inch Pizzas delivered at home.

We had the Hawaiian pizza and the all meat. It was thin but not too crispy. The taste was okay but it wasn't good. For its price o Pp929 for the 2 pizzas, it was okay. It just wasn't impressive nor is it something that you'd most likely order again.

I would still prefer to order Calda or Pizza Hut over Big Guys.

VERDICT: Not recommended.

19/365 photoblog: Breakie

One of the things I look forward to the most during my rest days is preparing breakfast for B. Its nothing fancy because  only prepare noodles, hotdog, or eggs. At times, I would prepare fried rice or pancakes as well.

What I do look forward to is the look on his face when he sees that I was the one who prepared his breakfast. He just looks really happy which makes me happy. :)

NIPS White Chocolate

I saw this recently and knew that I just had to try it. I didn't have high expectations though but I was pleasantly surprised that it actually tasted good. The White Chocolate reminded me of the Goya White Chocolate which I also like.

I think in a way its good that I am quite easy to please and can appreciate even local brands. I feel sad for those people who have such "refined" taste and think the imported brand is the only way to go. We need to support our local markets and local vendors.

This is my attempt at showing you the white chocolate part after doing a quick teensy bitsy bite of the nips. :) Try it. It's worth your money.

Cha-ah!

I've been seeing these tetra packs whenever I pass by Ministop and since I've fallen in love with milk tea, I finally gave in and bought these milk tea tetra packs.

I love the Green Tea Latte. It was smooth and not too much green tea was present. It was something that I could definitely drink on a daily basis or whenever I have a matcha fix that needs to be addressed.

This one on the other hand was definitely a downer. It lacked the caramel taste that I was looking for. Truth be told, it lacked even the milk tea taste that should have been there.

Overall, 1 out of 1 is not that bad I guess. I'm glad I was still able to give this brand a try.

18/365 photoblog: Feline Family

My super pretty and gorgeous cats are now Mommy Cat and Daddy Cat. My siblings woke up yesterday to the meowing of Yang, the Mommy Cat which is the black one and Yin just watching over while Yang was giving birth.

Now here they are ... the new kittens of the family.

What a blessing indeed. We now have 6 cats and 4 dogs. :)

Starbucks Breakfast Oatmeal

When I first heard about the new breakfast that is available at Starbucks, I didn't really give it much thought. When I did get to a Starbucks near my place and saw that it was available, I just had to give it a try.

To be honest, I was like a kid when I actually tried out the Oatmeal set they have. It was just so much fun sprinkling stuff over the oatmeal.

Tada! You get to sprinkle the toppings and then the syrup which for me makes it more enjoyable to eat. It's only Php80 so its pretty cheap compared to other Starbucks items they are selling. Best part is that its good for your health since its oatmeal.

Poco Deli

This is one of those places that has been on my list for the past 2 years. I was in Kapitolyo frequently but never had the chance to really have a bite here. I did try the famous chocolate cake but found it lacking and wanting.

Yesterday, my best friend and I finally ate at Poco Deli. Thank God for a branch at Ayala Triangle.

We liked the interior of the place because it was simple. We also didn't take time to order because I already knew what we were going to try. You see, I googled what the best sellers were and we decided that it was what we were going to have. The food did take quite some time to arrive because they still had to cook it which allowed my best friend and I to catch up on each others life.

We had the Sausage Platter which contained 5 kinds of sausages. Some of them were spicy, some of them were not but everything on that plate was simply delicious. This plate is Php580 but its already good for 2 people.

We also tried the Bacon Slab (Php380) and though I am not a fan of bacon, I did love this dish. In fact, I loved it so much that I told my brothers to go on a Fridate with their friends there next time.  Beneath the 2 pieces of egg is a cup of rice sprinkled with bacon bits. That's a whole lot of bacon.

We also had the Citrus Juice and if I could fall in love with a drink, I'd fall in love with this one. It's refreshing and cool and it was rejuvenating. It had 4 kinds of citrus in it. I plan to go make some of these at home when I have visitors of my own.

After lunch, we were debating whether to try the famous chocolate cake. I was wavering because the first time I tried it, it was dry and yucky. We finally decided to give it another go. This is me before we took a bite.

This is me after taking 2 bites of the cake.

I gave it a thumbs up sign where I initially gave it a thumbs down simply because it was really, really good. It was moist. It was chocolatey. It was something that I can definitely eat over and over again. It was overbearing. It was exactly what a moist chocolate cake should be and it being covered with tiny chocolate kisses just sealed the deal.

I'm glad I finally had the chance to try Poco Deli. It was definitely worth the visit.

17/365 photoblog: Bacon Slab

This dish changed my opinion of bacon. This Bacon Slab is more popularly known as the best seller of Poco Deli. One bite of it and I had to agree.

It was simply delicious. It was just oh so good. It was ... heaven. Haaayyyy ... bacon, why did we meet only now? I think I love you.

16/365 photoblog: Banana Colada

My sister was feeling experimental and made this banana colada smoothie. I took a sip of it and loved it. Afterwards, I drank about half a glass which made my brother snicker. I asked why. He told me then to go ahead and drink the entire glass. He said it though in such a way that it made me wonder so I asked why. This was when my sister told me that this smoothie apparently had a bit of alcohol in it.

Trust me when I say that I was out cold when I went to sleep after an hour or so. No dreams, no fidgeting, just sound asleep. I loved it.

15/365 photoblog: Night Rise

Finally finished one book and it was a book I borrowed from my sister who borrowed it from their library. Haha. I''m just really happy that I was able to finish one book already. Base on my list, 1 down, 11 to go for me to complete my resolution to read more this year. :)

Globe Project Wonderful 2014

“If there is one thing you can give to the Philippines, what is that gift?”

I would give the gift of remembering. I chose this because if we remember, we will learn, we will accept, we will change, and we will not repeat our mistakes, and most importantly, we will move forward.

If the Philippines will remember, we will learn all the lessons we need to so that we can choose the right leaders for our country. We will not vote base on popularity or because this person had the campaign that stayed stuck in our heads. We will remember to choose a leader that has a strong platform, a history that shows a strong performance, and someone who is known to have morals and values that cannot be bought.

If the Philippines will remember, we will accept that we are not perfect. We will not easily erupt when someone says something bad about us. We will reflect and work hand in hand with each other to improve what we can and be more flexible about what we cannot. We will accept that we need to laugh at certain things, not just the calamities that has befallen us. If we can smile while sitting on top of a drum floating in flood water, we should be able to smile as well when Manila is called the gateway to hell because we know Manila is more than that.

If the Philippines will remember, we will change our crab mentality and truly honor what being a Filipino is. We will change our thinking that whiter is better and that anything made from outside the country is better than anything hand made in our country. We will support local brands and tell the world that MADE IN THE PHILIPPINES is something they should look for because it means QUALITY.

If the Philippines will remember, we will not let history repeat itself. We will forge a better future not only for the youth and the kids but also for us. We need to remember that this country is ours and if we keep repeating the same mistakes or allow other to keep repeating the same mistakes, there is nowhere to go but down.

If the Philippines will remember, we will finally move forward and regain the former luster of being the Pearl of the Orient. We will move forward and show the world that we don't only have beautiful women and beautiful beaches. We will show them that we also have a successful economy, a thriving agricultural industry, a fast paced business industry, and a colorful culture worthy of being written about it magazines and photographed for all the world to see.

This is what I wish for the Philippines ... if only the Philippines will remember. We will have a #GLOBEProjectWonderful2014 not just for a moment but forever.

How about you?  If there is one thing you can give to the Philippines, what is that gift? Let me know your thoughts by leaving a comment below. You just might win an iPAD mini2.
