Recap: 1st week of School

It is B's first time to be in school for those who asked. He skipped  nursery and kinder coz he's smart, like me. LOL.

Anyway ... here's a recap of what his first week was like.

I took him to school every morning. The first morning, I stayed with him in school but on the second to fourth day, I left him alone. I had to. He has to learn that I won't be there in school with him all the time.

I worried. I wasn't sure if he could make friends since he's an only child and he doesn't really interact well with other kids. I worried that he might not be able to cope with the lessons because he skipped two levels. I was worried that he could be bullied ... I worried worried worried.

I'm happy that I worried for nothing. He has friends and he's behaved. He also has confidence in himself because he would volunteer to recite and write on the board. He has discipline enough that he is able to tell his classmates that they should behave.

Thank you Lord! Now, I feel happy that maybe, just maybe, I am doing something right with my son.

no hope ... no love ...

Friday
a day of hope
a day of love

oh but wait

there is no hope or love.

I wished to be really busy before ... I wanted to have groups that I can talk to about different stuff. This wish has been granted and now, if my planner shall be lost, I will  die.

Seriously.

I have so many activities that if I don't ink it in, I will never remember where I am supposed to be at a given time. Toink.

Iloveettt!

who wouldn't forgive?

When my son does something to upset me, he's quick to say sorry. When he does something really big though ... he does this ...

Who  wouldn't forgive?

my hearts state

Amused
Confused
Bemused

My heart's state when we talk.

Longing
Wanting
Desiring

My hearts state when you're gone.

breaking the shell

Two events inspired this post. One of them was that my son is finally attending school which has led me to feel some sort of separation anxiety and the other happened last night in the middle of my freaking out over an incident and speaking with K to calm my ruffled and panicky self.

Today's FB status had the following words: "I need to let go and let him learn to fly on his own. There will be bumps, falls, cuts, and bruises but this is how he will become stronger. I need to let him fall so he will know how to stand on his own.."

Last night, K told me that he's been feeling a bit down lately. It seems that there have been some struggles in his life when it comes to work and some people surrounding him. Negative energy has a way of bringing us down and making us feel not so good.

These are the two events that triggered this post. In some ways, B and K are both going through something in life that are posing as a challenge.  One is welcoming it with the youthful naivete of a child ... with wonders and amazement because its a new world. The other is a bit wary and jaded but trying his best to overcome the odds because he knows that to be negative and allow gravity to pull you down will do no good.

To both of them, I say this ...

Just like what I said in my previous blog post about growing trees, one needs to be broken so that you can be molded into what you need to be, not who you think you need to be. You need to go through the dark for your star to shine the most. You need to experience rain so that you can see the rainbow in the sky. You need to fall, stumble, struggle to get up so that you can stand high and proud. You need to be beaten over and over again to be firm and strong. You need to go through hardship to appreciate the moment you overcome and win.

So savor this moment ... this moment is what is making you a stronger and better person ... this moment is preparing you for what is to come ... the greatness of things you are meant to do and the awesomeness of the person that you will be. Savor it, it will be what defines you.

animal abuse: Jerzon Senador

Apparently, another idiot was born. Jerzon Senador thought it was funny to do this and post it online. He thought he was being smart, or funny, or witty. He thought wrong.

I, amongst the many, think he's a fuckwit. Sorry for the word but there really is no other more fitting term to use to describe this Jerzon Senador but as that.

He makes my blood boil. I'd love to see him boiled then hanged like what he did to the puppy. It's lame, pathetic, and speaks of how  low he is. He is not even a low level kind of creature. He's the amoeba feeding on a puss infecting the scab wound of a stray animal. He's that low.

I hope I never see you or meet you. I will slap you. Trust me on that. You deserve it.

"Republic Act No. 8485, also known as “The Animal Welfare Act of 1998″, makes it “unlawful for any person to torture any animal”. Anyone found guilty under the act would be subject to six months to two years imprisonment, or fine ranging from ₱1,000 to ₱5,000."

And here is the idiot/dumb ass who did it. If  you see him, please, give him a slap in the head to knock some sense into him.

Let this be a lesson to all animal abusers. STOP! What you are doing is not a good thing.

B's 1st Day of School

I was a nervous wreck. I worried so much ...
  • will he listen to his teacher?
  • will he pee in his pants?
  • will he make friends?
  • will we be late?
  • will he cry?
  • will he be okay?
  • will he be bullied?
  • will he bully someone?
  • will the school be okay?
  • will the teacher understand him?
  • will he be able to cope?
I told you. I was nervous. B, on the other hand, was CALMNESS PERSONIFIED. Sheesh.

not your fault

It's not your fault.
I shouldn't be mad at you.
I love you.
You don't love me.

Monday Affirmations # 9

If everyone were to follow this, the world will be a much better place. Among the ten, which one do you struggle with the most?

I struggle with forgive without punishing. I'm the kind of person who believes in "an eye for an  eye, a tooth for a tooth." It's only lately that I have learned to forgive without exacting revenge. It's hard I have to admit. Sometimes, you just wanna hurt the people who hurt you as well but I just think to myself, I don't need to do it. There is Karma; there is God. He will avenge me. I will just need to invite more positivity in my life and surround myself with love, family, and friends.

Today, I share this with you so that we can spread more positivity ... the world needs it, we need it, and most of all, we DESERVE it. :) Happy Monday!

munimuni # 63

To say the last time I pondered on life was months ago would be the honest truth. It seems that it was back in March when I last had a reflection on life and its only now that I am doing it again. Maybe the whirlwind of emotions got to me and I just couldn't step back and look at things again but today, I plan to do that.

I took a 10 day leave from work and one of the things that my boss told me was that I should take time to reflect on my temper. He said it in jest but I know that at the same time, he did mean it. I told him, it took one to know one since he tends to be a grouch at times too.

The last 2 months have been pretty calm if I would just look back into it on a superficial level. Looking at entries I made, nothing earth shattering has happened which I am very thankful for. Beneath that calm veneer though lies a heart that is as confused as a  pasta that's been tossed and mixed over and over again for at least a day. It's all mushy and worn but still firm and strong.

Did that make sense? I hope so since it did to me.

My mind  seems to be at a standstill ... it has definitely stopped fighting with my heart since my heart is set on him and him only. No matter how many guys I've gone out with (trust me, there has been a lot) my mind just wants him. The experiment is not over nor will it be anytime soon. I have accepted that. I don't have expectations anymore (since it leads to tears and major heartache) but I do hope that at the end of this road, he will come back to me. He belongs to me and I am irrevocably his.

As for my temper, I am working hard on this  and B is actually the perfect person to test it. He manages to drive me nuts and then melt my hear in a span of less than 1 minute. Pretty tough place to be in but its good practice. I know that it will be for my own good if I learn to find my center and be calm from within.

The last few months have been spent with family and friends; just the way I like it. Work has been good and is a struggle at times but I like it. I just hate the negative people at times since they tend to drag you down.

Overall, it has been pretty good ... there were a few minor cuts and bruises emotionally but nothing that scarred me for life. For that, I would say, THANK YOU GOD!

wishes

I wish you safety
I wish you peace
I wish you health
I wish that you were mine.

chicboy, you live up to your name

When you get into a  relationship with a "chicboy," most likely you will end up with your heart broken. The same thing happened to me when I decided to give Chicboy (the fast food place) a try.

Don't get me wrong. The food was okay. Big portions, unlimited rice, and taste was good. However, the service sucked. It sucked so bad that I couldn't even muster the energy to give them hell since they were bordering on pathetic. It was so bad that we just finished what we had and left vowing to never eat at this branch again and to tell people how bad it was because it was really just that BAD!

It started out good. My sister, son and I were just done buying books and was about to head home when my sister asked if we could eat out. Since she starts school tomorrow and B starts on Tuesday, I thought, we could have a simple back to school lunch. I saw Chicboy in front of Star Mall Las Pinas and decided to give it a shot. I was pretty excited too because I've heard the food was really good.

First thing that went wrong was they run out of the 2 best sellers they had. Mind you, this was barely 12 noon on a Saturday and they said that it was all out already. It seems the manager was not able to do a good projection since there was A LOT of people and any good manager would know that there should be stocks of the best sellers.

Next, other things on the menu were also sold out that I got to a point where I asked the cashier what  was available since it seems more than half wasn't. I was pissed. I was excited to try the Cebu Liempo and Cebu Chicken and it wasn't there.

Third, the food took more than 20 minutes. Hello, fast food? Not so fast I say. We had to call the attention of the waiters multiple times before they even realized that they seem to have "forgotten" us.

Fourth, the food of B took 30 minutes and when it got there, the grilled chicken had "bloody sauce." Eeeeewwww.

Fifth, the cashier had to be prompted a couple of times to give me my change and  receipt.

Sixth, the manager had the gall to tell me it wasn't blood on the chicken  but some sort of red sauce they put in the chicken. Hello again???? The other chicken did ot have the "bloody sauce."

Lastly, the manager said this ... "So were just gonna refund that chicken and you won't eat it anymore?" Wow! My son waits for 30 minutes and the stupid manager tells me he's gonna return the money and my son just won't eat. Good job!

Seriously, they all need to go through customer service training because they don't seem to have it. I wasn't even expecting anything spectacular. I just wanted my food within 10 minutes and for it to be cooked thoroughly. Is that too much to ask?

This is by far the best fan video of Glee that I have seen. I literally had tears from laughing and this kid is so endearing.
