am I happy?

This is a question that was asked in an article in a magazine. It even had a quiz that you could take to find out your level of happiness. I did not take the test. I know for a fact that yes, I am happy.

What makes me think I am happy?

Yes, I may not have everything in life but things are starting to fall into place. My faith in my God is stronger now and I know that He will not forsake me. I know that things will get better.

I have a family that supports me and loves me no matter what. Yes, we may bicker but what family doesn't? At the end of the day, we are still there for each other. We are still a family.

I have my son. My son may be persnickety at times but he's a good kid overall. Very smart too; takes after the Mom lol. He's very sweet and loves to hug at all times.

I have my friends. They are there for me when I need them and they will never betray me; that I know. I will never betray them as well.

I have ME. Yes, finally I found me. I love me. I know I matter. I am writing again and I nurture my creativity.

So, what's not to be happy about?

rain bound

I miss everything about you. I miss you.

You'll never truly know how much you mean to me..
It's you that comes before anyone else.
Not a day goes by when i don't think of you.

Even in my dreams... everyday.

I can only hope you believe me.
I know someday you will. One day.

I love you more than you can ever imagine.
This is not a poem nor a letter nor a shoutout.

It doesn't say everything, but I'll tell you a secret.

Everytime I stare and look at you..
I'm wishing and whispering and I hope it says enough..

That you are the air I breathe.

the new look of my board

This is the new design of my board ... I have overhauled it and gotten rid of the wastes that were on display before. If you look at it closely, it shows more of what I really like and who I am. Photography, the color purple, notes, my friends, my son, and my family.

Thank you so much Aling Remy! You rock! I love the mug, I love you! So much kindness ...

PS. B posed besides the drawing he made and posted on my wall while I was busy screaming with glee because of my mug. LOL.

Xavier's 1st Bday Party

We attended a swimming party hosted by our neighbors. It was the first time that I truly mingled with them and I don't regret it. I had a blast. They were really fun and seems to be real people ... best thing is that my son had a blast and my little sister won most of the prizes in the parlor games.

I may have been exhausted earlier but I don't regret going to the party with them.

Photohunt # 31: Colorful

COLORFUL

I love the colorful Care Bears that I received the other night. Love it! They make me feel happy whenever I look at them and they add to my growing collection of Care Bears. I think I now have almost 10.

I want you ... my citymugs (please be mine)

I want them! And the Pampanga one too!

sweets for my sweet

What my Dad brought for my Mom today upon getting home ...

loving the skin I'm in

I know that I'm not the prettiest nor the most gorgeous. To some, I am plain and not worth a second look while others think I am pretty at best. I don't care.

I like the way I look. Yes, there are days where I feel less than stellar but for most of the time, I love the skin I am in. I may not be hot, a stand out, a beauty queen, or Demi Moore but I am me. I get my fair share of attention and children don't run away from me.

I am not sexy. I am not curvaceous. I have flabs all over and my stomach could use some flattening and my thighs a lot of cutting on both sides but I am confident. I know that I carry myself well and can hold my own when needed.

I salute myself. I love me and I love the skin I am in.

night out at harbor square

We went out last night to meet with Arnie and Allan, two important people in my life whom I have not seen for some time now. I was so excited because I was able to keep my word to them that they will get to watch the musical CATS.

I like meeting with friends who I know are real friends. These two are as true as true can be. I Arnie (last picture) is someone who has been there for me since 1998. Allan, the one wearing a bear has been my friend since Kindergarten. I've known them for a very long time now and I know that they will be there for me till old age and death. It feels good to be with people who know who you are, accept you, and won't try to change you.

When they watched CATS and we left them at the theater, B, K, Lans and I hanged out at Starbucks. Before we did that, we played some game and bought some toys. I love my Limited Edition Care Bears. Thanks Lans! =)

It was fun. We did some arts and crafts, talked a lot, played some games, and just hanged out overall. I love nights like this.

Afterwards, we went home and chatted with Mommy till 6am. Good times!

he was learning to write ...
he finished the activity book in less than an hour and had only 4 mistakes overall
the reward ...
I am on a mission. The mission is simple. I need to get B ready so that when he goes to school next year, he will be in Prep. Please pray for me to have more patience. LOL.

Manong's Surprise

He asked for my Mom's permission to go out on a date and have dinner. I was surprised to learn we were going to Manong's since its hardly the best place to have a romantic dinner which was what I was expecting since he made an effort and all to ask my Mom's permission. Imagine my great surprise to know that we were going to a resto bar and grill.

Now imagine even more my surprise when upon entering the place, the security guard hands me a bouquet of roses. I was like, eh? What's this?

Even better surprise was the table setting below. It was A for EFFORT. Apparently, he went there and talked to the manager to have this all arranged. He then tells me that even the most unromantic place can become romantic with some effort.

I smiled.

Wouldn't you smile?

CATS in Manila

Lea Salonga as Grizabelda
posing in front of the tarps

I watched CATS with Lans yesterday. It was so GOOD. It was great. It was the best play I've seen by far. The energy was really high, the performers at their best. Everyone was in character the whole time and when Lea sang, we were all blown away.

WOW! I actually wanna watch it again.

Fish Out of Water

our small but super happy group

Last July 31, I met with a couple of Fil-Chi friends (I shall call them friends now since I consider them that.) We had dinner at Fish Out of Water and it was crazy. We tried really weird food but we enjoyed them. Conversation wasn't awkward and it felt like we've known each other a very long time. I love it.

We had the danggit salad ... its worth trying but I won't be loving it anytime soon. It was weird and salty. Ick.

The Ostrich Salpicao was pretty good. The meat was tasty and chewy. It wasn't soft but it was actually pretty good.

The winner of the night was the Kare Kare Pot Roast! The potato was so good, the the kare kare was soft, and the overall taste was just a kicker.

You know how it is when a certain group of people who meet online form a bond but rarely is able to take it to real life? That did not happen to us. It was the exact opposite. Love it!
