For the longest time, I’ve watched crafting videos and silently whispered to myself, “One day.” That day has finally come thanks to my husband who got the ball rolling last Mother's Day.
I’ve officially joined the Cricut world, and I couldn’t be more excited! As someone who loves journaling, stickers, and all things DIY, getting my hands on the Cricut Joy, Cricut Mini Press, and Cricut Explore 3 feels like opening the door to a whole new world of creativity. Acckk!
To keep things simple because Cricut can be overwhelming at first, I’m sharing the three beginner projects I want to try with each machine. Nothing fancy for now, so bear with me.
Cricut Joy Projects: Small but Mighty
The Cricut Joy may be tiny, but it’s packed with possibilities. I love how it fits perfectly on my desk without taking up too much space.
Stickers for Journaling
Yes, this is THE project I’m most excited about. I can finally make my own personalized stickers for my planners and journals. No more hoarding cute designs—I’ll be making them!
Labeling Everything in Sight
Pantry jars? Labeled. Cat food containers? Labeled. Drawers? Yup, labeled too. With Smart Label materials, I can go full-on Marie Kondo at home.
Simple Greeting Cards
The Cricut Joy Card Mat makes it super easy to whip up cards for birthdays, thank you notes, and little love letters. No more last-minute trips to the bookstore.
Cricut Mini Press Projects: Heat & Heart in Small Packages
The Cricut Mini Press is like that trusty sidekick you didn’t know you needed—small, cute, and ready to iron on the magic.
Custom Stuff for Khali
I can already imagine making adorable things with fun quotes or characters. This makes for such sweet personalized gifts too!
Iron-On Pouches for Journaling Supplies
Little canvas pouches with my name or favorite journaling quotes? Yes, please. Perfect for organizing pens, washi tapes, and more and we all know that I need more.
Mini Shirts for My Cats
Okay, this might sound extra... but cats in custom shirts? I need this in my life. Even if they only wear them for a photo. Remember, I have 6 cats.
Cricut Explore 3 Projects: Big Ideas, Bigger Possibilities
Now this one’s the big boss. It can do Print Then Cut—so naturally, it’s going to help me level up big time.
Print Then Cut Stickers
Again with the stickers—because this time, I can make full-color designs, cut them perfectly, and even sell some if I wanted to. The dream!
Vinyl Wall Decals
I’ve always wanted to put quotes on my wall or label my office space. This machine can cut vinyl like a pro—perfect for decorating.
DIY Gift Tags and Boxes
Come Christmas or birthdays, I’ll be ready. I love the idea of gifting something made with love, and Cricut makes that easier. People that I have gifted over the years know this and now I get to personalize it more.
I know I’m just starting out, but there’s so much to explore. I’ll be sharing my journey—the wins, the learning curves, and all the crafting fun in between. If you’re new to Cricut too, don’t worry—we’ll learn together. Join us on our Facebook Group!
Here’s to creating beautiful things, one cut at a time.
