Now, there was this really nice lady who was driving us around, but I had an idea na medyo sabog na siya by then. By sabog I didn't mean drug, but you could see na she was kind of out of it. But I just ignored it thinking na it should be fine (plus pagod na kami nun, I really wanted to rest). The first fault I saw was that hindi pala siya marunong magWaze, which I didn't realize until we were going around in circles na. And later on I told her that she had to take the highway and not the other path that she took earlier. During the drive back she was bent really forward as if trying to stay awake, which made me worry because I didn't want her to suddenly fall asleep behind the wheel. I decided to chat with her to help her stay awake. That's when I discovered that she had been driving since 7AM (it was around 11PM) and that it was her first day as an Uber driver and she's not from Metro Manila. I was worried na but decided to guide her since mabait naman siya. We reached Quezon Avenue and I told her to stay on the right but she kept on going straight. I was panicking a bit saying right miss, right! Right please and that's when she slowly started driving towards the right side of the road. But by that time she was doing it so slowly na the cars at the back were honking din because she was going at normal speed tas biglang super bagal. Eventually we got home, but I was really furious but happy that at least we got home safely. I kept telling her umuwi na siya and wag siyang ganito magdrive, and she kept saying pasensya na, pasensya na.
I guess my point is, Uber needs to set rules din for the drivers. They have a reputation to maintain, and part of that reputation involves the safety of the passengers. Like everyone here, I'm okay with paying a bit more basta I'm sure we're safe. That night I was so frustrated but last night ko na rin naman so hinayaan ko na. He could have just reported my brother and I wished he did so that my brother wouldn't have had an asthma attack (which wasn't fake bdw.) What does it mean to have someone policed? He wanted to get a policeman and have my brother jailed. You are lucky and should be grateful then that all your Uber driveres have been courteous. Research and you will see that there have been an increasing number of Uber drivers who are not good.

Why did I encourage my brother? Because I am not biased and I know that a few not so good drivers does not mean that Uber as a whole is bad. If you've already had bad experiences with Uber regarding your card, why did you not discourage your brother from using them? I also cannot imagine any driver abandoning his car in that area. He in turn could have simply reported your brother for non payment and left it at that. What age is your brother? What does it mean to have someone 'policed'? My partner and I use Uber several times a week and have always found their drivers to be both courteous and cautious on the road. I would really like to hear the drivers side of this incident before coming to any conclusions.kevs46https://www.blogger.com/profile/00340578328594314577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8949086196521623904.post-24926086577691166252016-07-16T16:50:31.211+08:002016-07-16T16:50:31.211+08:00Grab car na lang kayo. Imagine, if anyone can just go to your place of work and ask for your personal info, isn't that violating your privacy? Why can't it be the same for that driver? Now if you feel that your brother's safety was threatened, there are other avenues -- legal avenues of doing so. If you will continue to insist that you needed a NAME to file a police report, then whoever advised you gave you incomplete info. You may complain Uber itself! If you already consulted a lawyer, he can demand Uber to release the driver's info or at least come up with arbitration talks. Afterwards, all interactions can be within a controlled and documented environment. Reducing to public shaming via social media can only do so much. I'm not saying the driver was right with what he did. I'm saying, perhaps your way of getting the results you wanted was not the best way.
