UNIQLO Manila Global Flagship Store Marks Second Anniversary

Japanese global apparel retailer, UNIQLO, marks another milestone as it commemorates the second anniversary of the largest UNIQLO Global Flagship store in Southeast Asia on October 16, 2020.

“We are very grateful for the strong support that the Filipino community has continuously given us,” says Masayoshi Nakamura, COO, UNIQLO Philippines. “We are with the Filipinos in these trying times. We want to thank and show our support to the community as we all navigate this new everyday through our local partnerships and special offers in line with our anniversary, and through our LifeWear clothing.”

UNIQLO will be launching the following offerings and collaborations to help the local community move forward with tomorrow: local community partnerships, latest UTme! and UNIQLO U collections, and the third edition of LifeWear Magazine.

LOCAL COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS

In the spirit of pamayanan and bayanihan, UNIQLO has pledged to support local communities through various projects and collaborations.

Bambike, a local socio-ecological enterprise that handmakes bamboo bicycles, was forced to close shop during the early stages of the community quarantine in Metro Manila. However, this did not stop them from providing bicycles to the front liners in Manila, Pasig, Quezon City, and even in Iloilo to ease the mobility challenges during quarantine. In recognizing this initiative, UNIQLO has partnered with Bambike to provide UNIQLO customers a PHP 1,000.00 discount voucher from Bambike for every P3,000 purchase at the Uniqlo Manila Global Flagship Store from October 16-18, 2020. An in-store display of Bambike’s products together with LifeWear items will also be showcased at the flagship store during the anniversary week.

As part of UNIQLO’s Upcycling Project, UNIQLO will also be offering Limited Edition Upcycled Philippines Bags and Coffee Sleeves made by the Bayan Ni Juan community, whose livelihood is crafting products. The community volunteers were guided and trained by UNIQLO’s Takumi experts to build their skills and to ensure the products’ high quality. The items will also be available during the UNIQLO Manila Global Flagship Store’s anniversary week from October 16 to 18, 2020

UTME!

To strengthen its dedication to Filipino talent, UNIQLO partners with three local artists for its latest #UTmeArtPH collection. Designed by Nikka Maxino-Bagasan, Erika Ypil, and Monica Ong for PhilSTAR L!fe, the new lineup features their different takes on Filipinos' resilience, even in unforeseen situations such as the current pandemic. These items will be available from October 16, 2020.

UNIQLO U

A collection of “Future LifeWear Essentials” by Artistic Director Christophe Lemaire and his UNIQLO R&D team in Paris, Uniqlo U Fall/Winter 2020 features updated classics in rich varied palette of neutrals and skin tones—melding with deep, muted colors to evoke a sense of warmth and coziness throughout. These items will be available during the UNIQLO Manila Global Flagship Store’s anniversary week from October 16, 2020.

LIFEWEAR MAGAZINE

Our Tomorrow, the theme of the latest issue, explores ways in which fashion could help restore people’s spirits by bringing joy to their lives and encouraging them to try something new.

The LifeWear magazine showcases how LifeWear embodies the UNIQLO commitment to creating perfect clothing that meets the needs of everyone’s lifestyle. Available in all UNIQLO stores nationwide starting October 16, 2020.
