Weekly Update # 13

It's been weeks because we have been so busy balancing work, life, me time, and love. Sorry about that but I realized that the more you take care of your self, the more productive you are with the things that you love.

Anyway, here's our weekly round up of things that I feel you guys should know about.

Rebisco ToppStars

One of the things that my son truly loves is Rebisco's Topps. He likes the cookies and cream version and I love the chocolate one. It's just sooo good! Now, they are currently looking for their next Toppstar.

Topps Sarap, a favorite cupcake brand from Rebisco, is once again looking for a new breed of talented Filipino kids via the Topps Sarap Toppstar talent search.

Started in 2016, Topps Sarap Toppstar was created as a platform to discover young Filipino talents and celebrate the “topps” factor in each kid. Parents are encouraged to showcase their kids’ talents in singing, dancing, or acting by having them join the nationwide talent search.

Winners of the talent search receive the ultimate prize—a chance to audition for TOPPSTAR TV.

Airing weekends on GMA 7 and GMA News TV, each half-an-hour episode features performances from the kids, interviews with celebrity guests, unboxing videos, comedic bits, Pinoy games, and product reviews. Viewers also get a chance to join in on the fun through interactive activity bumpers.

Mang Inasal's Halo-Halo

Mang Inasal (MI), the leading Pinoy quick service restaurant chain that serves the country’s No.1 Chicken Inasal, makes the best-tasting and value-for-money Pinoy food favorites.

People can expect from it no less than crave-inducing menu offerings such as the Mang Inasal Pinoy Halo-Halo that is showcased in its latest television commercial (TVC).

The TVC stars Mang Inasal brand ambassador and primetime leading lady Angel Locsin. The TVC begins with Angel being interrogated by two men. Seemingly, the men had been ‘forcing’ her to answer their question.

Upon revealing that she’s been holding a bowl of Mang Inasal Pinoy Halo-Halo in her hands, she finally ‘confesses’ that: “Ang nagpapasarap sa halo-halo ay ang creamy, sweet gatas (What makes halo-halo delicious is its creamy, sweet milk).”

This summer, the most refreshing way to cool down is with the Jollibee Coke and Royal Floats!

It’s a refreshingly cool combination of your favorite ice-cold soft drinks: the classic cola and zesty orange. Top these beverages with a perfectly twirled vanilla soft-serve ice cream, a new and improved formulation—now creamier, thicker, and slow-melting.

Coke Float offers the soda and ice cream combination with a chocolatey twist. Sweet chocolate syrup is generously drizzled over the vanilla soft-serve to bring in all the flavors together. Meanwhile, Royal Float brings the zest of orange with the creaminess of vanilla for a delightful beverage that you’ll crave over and over again!

The Coke and Royal Floats are perfect complements to your favorite Jollibee meals and treats, but are also great to enjoy on their own!

Hello Kitty is travelling around with beep™! AF Payments Inc., in partnership with Sanrio and Daiso Japan, today released the Hello Kitty Limited Edition beep™ cards. Get ready for an upgrade to your beep™ card collection!

There are three new kawaii designs to collect, in blue, red, and yellow. Each card is sold for P188 (with no load). As a special treat, the first 88 to purchase the cards at Daiso Japan Robinsons Galleria on March 15 beginning 6 PM will get a special gift from beep™. The collection is available starting March 15 in Metro Manila branches of Daiso Japan.

“Hello Kitty is one of the most iconic cartoon characters and we believe it will be a popular addition to our line-up of limited edition beep™ cards. The Hello Kitty Limited Edition beep™ card allows fans and collectors to showcase their unique personality with their everyday tap-and-go payment card,” said Peter Maher, president and CEO of AF Payments Inc.

A reloadable payment card used in all three elevated railways (LRT-1, LRT-2, and MRT-3), select bus lines (BGC Bus, Citylink, DNS, Froehlich, HM Transport, RRCG, RRCG East, TAS Trans, Lancaster New City, Husky Bus, Bellefort Estates, San Agustin Transport, and UBE Express Inc.), Clemenisle e-trikes in Intramuros, modern jeepneys,  NLEX, CAVITEX, select retail partners (Robinsons Movieworld, Auntie Anne’s, Binalot, Worship Generation, Wendy’s, FamilyMart), and Bantay Bata kiosks, the beep™ card is reloadable and valid for four years.

PS. You can also donate using BEEP Cards.

In lieu of the cans and personnel manning them, special beep™ card donation terminals called Bantay Bata kiosks have been deployed at LRT 1 stations at Roosevelt, Balintawak, D. Jose, Central Station, Gil Puyat, and EDSA Taft, Monumento and Baclaran. Each tap donates five pesos (P5) to Bantay Bata.  Donations are deposited by AF Payments Inc, operator of the beep system, to the foundation’s bank account on a daily basis by electronic means.

Pop-Up Street’s concept is simple. First, it aims to serve as an incubator for startups and online stores for new and young entrepreneurs to hone their brand and test the saleability of their products before they decide to set up an establishment in BGC. The city is the perfect location to test marketability because it is populated daily by close to a million residents, office workers, and visitors.

Apart from that, it provides an interim space for established brands to hold short-term campaigns or introduce new or seasonal products.

Among the first locators currently at Pop-Up Street is Ethan Cash Sneaker Lounge, a team of experts on shoe restoration who promise to remove stains, straighten creases, and do everything to make kicks look new again.

Since shoppers today are into social enterprises or companies that give back to the community, Pop-Up Street allotted space for AKABA, a fair-trade business that makes quality handwoven bags from Filipino indigenous textiles. AKABA’s customers carry stylish knapsacks or tote bags while giving back to the artisan Filipinos who work hard in production.

On March 31 from Tokyo Japan, ONE Championship will put on the greatest show in its promotion’s history, and arguably the best of the year in mixed martial arts.

ONE: A NEW ERA will feature three co-main events, four World Title bouts, and two epic promotional debuts. If that wasn’t enough, the show also features a fantasy-like kickboxing bout (Andy Souwer vs Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex), along with a match featuring perhaps the greatest female mixed martial artist in Japanese history in Mei Yamaguchi.

I'm rooting for Folayang and Angela Lee. Who's your bet?
