Mindoro's Next Outstanding Ventures

Sometimes, students just need a little push to come up with something amazing. This is what the Mindoro Next Outstanding Ventures.

The  Mindoro Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) launched the “Mindoro Outstanding Ventures” Program (MOVE), a search for youth entrepreneurs and enterprises last December 8 at the NBS College in Quezon City. With the vision of helping develop an innovative, thriving, and sustainable environment of enterprise and business in the Mindoro province, the MOVE program by MCCI wants to give young entrepreneur dreamers a chance to realize their enterprise dreams.


Siblings Patricia Cusi-Ramos and Francis Cusi, Co-Chairs of MOVE, welcomed the guests and briefed them about the program. The launch was attended by students from several colleges and organizations including but not limited to the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Paranaque, Polytechnic University of the Philippines Manila and Polytechnic University of the Philippines QC, University of Sto. Tomas, Far Eastern University-Manila, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, NBS College, Philippine Women’s University and the University of the Philippines.


Mindoro Ventures, Dreams Realized
Being the seventh largest island in the Philippines with a substantial land area for produce, Mindoro is well known for its thriving agricultural industries.  This is a good complement to its strategic location on the Southwestern Coast of Luzon, making it a teeming bridgeway of sorts between Luzon and the Visayas.


The MCCI, however, sees that Mindoro teems with so much potential—beyond agriculture, beyond the usual. Through the MOVE program, it seeks to harness innovative local talent and give potential business ideas the resources to scale. MOVE is funding and mentorship program that will discover local businesses and give them the tools to level up and reach their maximum economic potential.

This MCCI program will focus on early-stage investment and provide a seed fund for and mentorship to a unique, innovative, and sustainable business that finds its roots in the Mindoro province. For this program, the MCCI will select a promising micro venture and will lead investment rounds to get it off the ground, taking a board seat to mentor it to growth and success.

A Chance To Get Seed Funding
For this program, the MCCI is seeking to invest in promising, innovative, profitable, and sustainable business ventures across any of the following market sectors: Information Technology, Agri-Tech,Manufacturing,  Hospitality, Hotel and Restaurant, Supply Chain & Logistics, Health, Wellness & Pharma, Environment; Green Tech and Sustainability, Social Development and Art & Culture.

In order to support the economy of Mindoro, this MCCI-funded programs will require that the awarded venture  be headquartered in Mindoro, which includes Mindoro Oriental :Baco, Bansud, Bongabon, Bulalacao, Calapan, Gloria, Mansalay, Naujan, Pinamalayan, Pola, Puerto Galera, Roxas, San Teodoro, Socorro and Victoria;  and Mindoro Occidental: Abra de Ilog, Calintaan, Looc, Lubang, Magsaysay, Mamburao, Palauan, Rizal, Sablayan, San Jose, Sta. Cruz and Tilik.


The MOVE program search is open individual or group of students or young entrepreneurs of Filipino descent between the ages of 18 to 35 years old (as of March 30, 2019) who have a unique and innovative business idea. Interested participants should have a micro business idea with seed and early stage investments projections.  After a series of pitch and screening session, the MCCI will select an outstanding venture who will receive a seed investment of 1 million pesos to jumpstart the business venture. Winning entry will be eventually be required to incorporate in Mindoro with at least 30% manpower hired from the Mindoro province. The search runs from September 10 to March 30, 2018.

Entries may be submitted from October 1, 2018 to February 15, 2019 via the following ways:
