Kam's Roast PH

When I went to Hong Kong back in 2016, I found myself lost but enjoying the sights and sounds. After all, it was my first time to go outside the country. I turned a corner  and then I saw a restaurant with about 3 people lining up.  I found this a bit weird because it was a little after lunch and yet there was still a small line so I ended up lining. They were locals and if they were lining up, then it had to be good.

I didn't know that I had chanced upon the much sought after Kam's Roasted Goose. 2 years later, Kam's is finally opening in Manila.

This is also what you would see in the Hong Kong branch and I don't know how anyone could not be enticed to step inside and have a bite. The interiors of the Manila branch however are more spiffy. The one in Hong Kong is more rustic.

They even have a private room for those who have a party of 10 to 12 and would like to have more privacy.

We started off with appetizers and I have to be honest that initially, my mind went eeeewww at the sight of this. To say that I am not a fan of tofu and cucumber is an understatement but after taking a bite of these two dishes, I was a convert.

The marinated cucumber is so crispy and tasty. The tofu, surprisingly really tasty. I had 5 slices of it. This is how good it was.

The wonton soup was also good. Just make sure that you have them cook the soup really hot so that it bring out more of the taste and the flavor.

If you have high blood, try to stay away from these next three because one bite is not enough. The roast pork was just so good. I can't even begin to imagine how my reaction would be if I had paired this with a steaming bowl of rice.

The duck was another suprise because normally, ducks cooked here in the Philippines are dry. This one wasn't. It was tasty, delicious, and you just get to enjoy every morsel of it.

Now for the chicken, this was a classic and remained so. It's good and it's a must have.

Now for the most expensive item on the house, the suckling pig. This is just me but though I liked the taste, this didn't make my list of favorites. Perhaps because I grew up in Cebu and have had my fill of the most delicious roast pig there or maybe because I have always preffered the meat over the skin. Yes, I am crazy like that.

I'm glad I was able to share this with M. He was in foodie heaven that he barely spoke a word the entire night.
