ASUS Zenfone 3 Zoom First Impressions

So for anyone who is into phones, you've probably heard that ASUS is now joining the dual cam bandwagon and you are all just as excited as I am about this. Luckily, we were able to get our hands on an engineering unit and I wanna share with all of you my thoughts about this beauty.

Watch this before we continue.

Now after seeing that, I'm pretty sure you want to see the details and because I love you guys, here's a few close up shot of the Zenfone 3 Zoom. As you can see, there's the dual cam that everyone has been raving about since it launched during the CES2017. It can zoom up to 12x and I gotta say that that is just plain awesome. This means we can take really full details of the guy we are crushing on even from afar haha.

Thankfully, everything else remains the same so the sense of familiarity in navigating your phone will stay. I personally hate it when they change the locations of the buttons because you get used to it being in a certain place and when it changes, I feel disoriented.

Asus had announced the ZenFone 3 Zoom at CES 2017 in Las Vegas last week. ASUS has aimed the device at mobile photography enthusiasts with its dual-rear (12MP + 12MP) camera setup. One of the rear units on will be a Sony IMX362 sensor, while the other will be a wide-angle f/1.7 aperture sensor giving 2.3x of optical zoom.

ZenFone 3 Zoom come with a 5.5-inch Full HD AMOLED display protected by Corning’s latest Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 625 processor, and will be shipping with multiple RAM and storage configurations. The front camera on the phone is a 13MP shooter.

Asus ZenFone 3 Zoom is backed by a 5000 mAh battery, but still manages to be the thinnest phone to have such a capacity according to the company. The phone has a 7.9mm thickness and weighs 170 grams.

So there you have it, a look at the much awaited Zenfone 3 Zoom. Are you guys as excited as I am to have this? Let me know in the comment section below what you think. I have been using an ASUS phone for the last 2 years and I can't see myself using another brand aside from ASUS. It's resilient and it delivers what I need and what my business needs.

  1. Hi, one thing that immediately caught my attention is the F1.7 aperture. Pretty soon, I will be reading the reviews and take a look at original photos captured using this unit. I think besides the lens itself, the sensor also plays an important factor, perhaps even more so. So hopefully, there would be something posted about the sensor and the image processor too. What I am excited about is seeing how the wide aperture performs in real life night scenes.

  2. Haven't heard much about ASUS phones but after reading this post, i'm excited to know what others had said/has to say about ASUS' performance. Zoom capability at 12th, 12MP+12MP with Sony sensor, 5000mAh, that's gonna take my breath away. :D I am currently in search for a mobile device that can produce perfect photos and I would definitely be keeping an eye on this one. ^_^

  4. To be honest I'm not really into phones! I've stuck with my Samsung for years. I've never heard of Asus but it looks really sleek design and sounds like it's got great technology. I hate it as well when a Copmanthorpe change everything about the phone on a launch just when you've got used to your old phone! So good news that all the buttons are the same :) Ree love30n

  5. That is great that the camera works so well! I love taking photos when I travel but it can be hard to find a good cell phone camera. And there is a high-quality zoom, which is so important. I find that zooming on my cell makes the photo blur...

  6. Full HD Amoled screen sounds great. Can't go for anything lower than that. What impresses is the f/1.7 aperture. Sounds like wow. I'm sure that must be one of the fastest available mobile phone cameras today. 2.3x "optical" zoom is definitely like a cherry on top. But if you ask me for the best feature that I liked about this phone is the 5000 mAh heavy duty battery. I'm tired of my current phone with battery running out in no time. Looks like time to switch brands?

  7. How is the Asus phone suited for long shots? I could only see close-ups and hence the question. Plus, what about the memory and storage space of Asus? I ma travel story writer and if you could introduce me to the brand manager of Asus, that would be great.
Lastly, please enable the User id functionality of your blog commnenting system.I hardly use my Google plus account Thanks

  8. Wow. The specs are pretty impressive. I just bought a new phone but reading your reviews makes me want to buy another unit. LOL. I am really into mobile phones with good camera because I'm too lazy to bring a camera.

  9. Friends told me to get an Asus. My five-year old iPhone just retired and my husband gifted me with a Huawei 9 something. I want to request for an Asus but he bought the unit already without my knowing. Still thankful. Not much into phone anyway. Hehehe. I just need it to call, text, and draft stories. But of course, it wouldn't hurt to own something worthy and in demand.

  10. I'm not a fan of Asus Phones. I already checked their performances in stores, it didn't impress me. Maybe because of my techie side, I know how phones work. Lol, but anyway, I think people will enjoy this new trend in Asus Smartphones.
