Izakaya Sensu: Japan feels

One of the things that I look forward to when eating at a Japanese restaurant is the freshness of the sushi and sashimi. After all, it's one of the things they are known for right? So when I headed to Netpark in BGC to try out Izakaya Sensu, my expectations were quite high on these two dishes. I was praying that I wouldn't be disappointed. Of course there were other dishes that we also had to try so let me give you a run down of what we had.

This Uni Yaki-Onigiri  was very different. This grilled rice ball with sea urchin and special miso. Maybe it's the sauce on top but it was definitely something that I have never tried before. I liked that you can eat this all by yourself or paired with soda. Yes, I think this is best paired with soda coz you need that extra push to burn this heavy sticky rice.

The Asari Butter Clams which was sauteed in butter, sake, and soy sauce is perfect to be paired with plain rice because the sauce is tasty enough. You don't need to add anything and if you love clams, this is absolutely perfect.

The Hirame Sugate-Age is deep-fried flatfish nuggets on a noodle basket with Ponzi Dip. It is basically breaded fish which is something every person who loves fish would go for. When dipped in it's special sauce, it bursts into so many different flavors. I'm not a fan but I don't regret getting this. It's different from your ordinary breaded fish.

Now the salmon was fresh and cooked just right. One dish is enough to fill you up so be careful if you plan to eat a lot because you might end up finishing this and then you won't have space for other things anymore.

Omakase 3 which contains Bluefin Tuna, Norwegian Salmon, and Squid. Everything is extremely fish that you would think it was just taken off the actual fish. I loved this platter and if memory serves me right, I ate everything in here by myself. This definitely did not disappoint in any way or form.

The maki and rolls were so many and so good. An entire order is more than enough to stuff you but make sure you also leave room for the Yakitori. You can choose your own Yakitori. I mostly picked the chicken yakitori because it is what I liked. My friends chose the bacon but as you all know, I am not a fan of bacon.

To end a wonderful lunch, we had the Miso Chocolate Cake and I have to admit that this one was the perfect way to end things. It's light, not overly sweet, and quite filling for such a seeminly small piece.

Izakaya Sensu is located at the Ground Floor of Netpark BGC. I plan to bring my family there soon since we all like Japanese food. I'm pretty sure that they would enjoy this just as much as I did.
