Eri Curry

photo above grabbed from google

I was invited to try Eri Curry which just opened in SM Megamall Atrium 3rd floor yesterday. It was the latest addition to the Katsu Craze that is still holding on to the foodie market even when the ramen invasion happened.

Truth be told, I wasn't really that excited because other katsu places have failed me in the past. I didn't want to get my hopes up and it was a good thing that I squelched my excitement because there were several mishaps here and there.

The Ebi Futo Maki wasn't impressive. It was just another maki but it was wrapped with sesame seeds. Aside from that there wasn't anything outstanding about it.

The Sakana Warm and Tender which was wrapped in Tamago was something that I liked though. I think it was the egg wrapping the entire thing. I'm a sucker for Tamago.

I had the tonkatsu curry which I really loved minus the sauce. I found the sauce overbearing and it was just a bit too much. Without the sauce, the tonkatsu paired with the Japanese sticky rice was absolutely good.

I'd recommend this place to Katsu lovers out there. I can even see myself going back once or twice in the future. I just hope that their service would greatly improved and the product knowledge of the staff would increase tenfolds.

* I was invited to review the food. I did not pay for my meal. However, the free meal did not in any way sway my opinion and everything you read here is MY PERSONAL OPINION.

  1. Hi Kenny,

Thanks for taking the time to come to our launch and have a taste of what Eri Curry Japanese Curry House is all about. We are not only popular for our Katsu dishes but also our special Curry Sauce. It's actually made to suit Pinoy palettes as provided in the press release we provided you. :)

Rest assured that Eri Curry will only improve from here on. Thanks for your kind review and we hope to see again in Eri curry!
