Mezza Norte: Little Donkey Burrito Fiesta

FM has always dissed the "Mexican"places here in the Metro, claiming that it wasn't authentic Mexican food and that the so-called burrito isn't anywhere near the burrito that can be found in the US or Mexico. So you can imagine my apprehension when I found out that the next kiosk we were about to try was one called Little Donkey Burrito Fiesta.

They first made us try their Super Nachos (Php130).

Do you see that? Insanely generous servings of tomato, salsa, cheese, jalapeno, sour cream, and SHREDDED beef. Yes, you read that right! It's shredded beef and not the usual ground beef that you can count on your hands because they drizzle the nachos that it makes you wonder if there were even beef in it. For Little Donkey though, you could feast on the beef coz its everywhere!

Co-Owners Raul Banez and Lyle de Guzman (an uncle-nephew tandem this time) are the brains behind this kiosk. I sincerely enjoyed munching on the nachos until the fried burrito came and then I completely forgot about the Nachos.

It may look simple to you but trust me when I say that a bite was pure heaven. First of all, it wasn't greasy. It was fried but it wasn't greasy. Second, it was made from scratch and it freshly made every single day. The beef is pan fried then marinated for 24 hours before its placed inside a pressure cooker. Can you imagine how soft the beef is?

The fried burrito is only Php150 and I say only because once you finish this, you will feel like you've had an entire meal. It fills you up. Seriously.

For those who want to experience and taste how a burrito should really taste and what a Super Nacho really is, go to Mezza Norte and try the Little Donkey Burrito Fiesta. I bet even FM would approve of this.

* I was invited to review the food. I did not pay for my meal. However, the free meal did not in any way sway my opinion and everything you read here is MY PERSONAL OPINION.
