redeployed

The account I work for at work is closing by end of this year. This has cause a lot of stress to the people I work with since we didn't know what was going to happen to us. The other day, we finally knew what will happen.

For my team and I, we will be redeployed to other projects. Only thing we need to do is to pass their interviews and we still have jobs. We should feel okay right? I can't speak for them but I do feel a bit sad, like maybe I was inadequate in what I do and so they want to move me to another account. I feel a bit worried because as with any new position or application, there is apprehension. I feel a bit mad too. I don't know why but I do.

I learned about the news the other day. It is only now that I am starting to feel things about it. Talk about delayed reaction. I just hope that things work out for the best. I need this job. I have B who depends on me.

I hope things work out. I really do.

smiling cause of you

There is that one person in our life who can make us smile whenever we think of them. I am happy to say that there are several people in my life who make me smile just by thinking of them. Lately, these people have kept me sane from the madness of the work that I do.

My YM status has been "smiling cause of you" since I want to be reminded that amidst all the craziness, there is always a reason to smile.

have a peek at the new house

Finally, mms went through so here are pictures of what the inside of the new house looks like. I hope you guys like our teeny little house.

This is the dining area. The small door there leads to my Mom's room.

This is the living room. On the left side is a sliding door which leads to the rec room or play area (depending on the time of day.)
This is my room, not the entire room but one wall. As you can see, I have a lot of picture frames that are on display and I even have a huge corkboard filled with pictures of people that matter to me. I also have loads of magazines and books. I'm a bookworm.
And here is my family having a meal with Leleth (2nd woman from the left) and TJ (the baby) who dropped by for a visit before going back to London.
So what do you guys think?

myDSL is so not fast

So we went moving right? Guess what? For one month, I won't have DSL access. For one freaking long month ... I will not have DSL access. Just to transfer one account to another house, it will take one long month.

I miss blogging. I miss visiting. I promise tomorrow, I will have something better than this. To give a quick update though, this is what happened since last week:

- it rained, we learned the new house had several holes in the roof ... luckily it was in one area alone ... not so lucky were some of my books
- I got sick which allowed me to be absent. Yippee. Then I got toothache and I had two teeth extracted earlier today. Booh!
- The new house is way bigger. My room rocks. Pictures to follow soon as mms gets sent. Darn mms.
- I have A LOT of picture frames now ... and one huge CORKBOARD with pics. I rock. Lol.
- Last week at work, some bastard told me I was not priority. I filed a report. Today, I am now one of the most important persons on the floor. Teehee.
- Things are way better with J. Whee ...
- B is so big now. And he can count and draw and circle stuff. He is so smart.

I think that's about it. =)

fresh start

Finally, we have moved to our new place. Here are some pictures of the new place. Almost everything is still in chaos, save for my room with B which is an organized chaos as my brother calls it. Lol.

I still have no DSL at home so I'll update as much as I can when I'm here in my other place. Lol.

time off

I need to take time off for a couple of days on my blog. We are moving houses and its been pretty crazy and work is taking its toll. Soon as we move on Sunday, I will need a week to get DSL connection at home so that might affect my blogging time as well. =(
I will see you all the week after next. I hope you all still remember me. Sniff.

mother's day 2009

This Mother's Day was really simple but fulfilling. My Mom loved the bouquet of flowers I got her (the money spent on it was so worth it regardless if I will be starving this entire week) and the jewelry box, she really loved it too. She really really liked it. I think the best gift though is that we have finally found a house and right now, they are in the bank and I hope that she will get the loan she needs to secure the house. This, I believe, will be the best gift to her.

And now, here are some pictures from our weekend which was mostly spent together and packing stuff for the house.

the miniature mugs are her gift to me, the bigger one is something I got for me

happy mother's day

To all the Mom's out there ... to the hardest worker, to the one who does not have a day off, to the one who can never resign from this job ... to us all ... Happy Mother's Day. =)

And for those mom's out there, a recipe for a dessert that you can cook with your oven toaster.
It's called the Mango Almond Candy Cake. Seriously easy.

New beginnings ... new start.

SPH # 22: In Memory of

If you will look closely, we are standing beside a grave. This grave is where a very close family friend rests. He was only 18 when he passed away and was like a younger brother. This is in his memory. Know that we will never forget you Mark. Never.

Thank you Rachel. I heart it so much.

True, one of the things I look forward to when I open my blog is reading the comments that people post in here. I love the interaction, seeing that my posts made someone react, think, or laugh.

love from london

My cousin in law, Leleth, went here to the Philippines and got me this citymug from London. Wheee! It's so amazing how a cousin in law can care enough to get me one since she knows it will make me really happy more than my actual older sister. Lol.

So this is another add on to my hopefully growing collection of citymugs. Thanks cuz!

the 5 love languages

Words of Affirmation - This is when you say how nice your spouse looks, or how great the dinner tasted. These words will also build your mate's self image and confidence.

Quality Time - Some spouses believe that being together, doing things together and focusing in on one another is the best way to show love. If this is your partner's love language, turn off the TV now and then and give one another some undivided attention.

Gifts - It is universal in human cultures to give gifts. They don't have to be expensive to send a powerful message of love. Spouses who forget a birthday or anniversary or who never give gifts to someone who truly enjoys gift giving will find themselves with a spouse who feels neglected and unloved.

Acts of Service - Discovering how you can best do something for your spouse will require time and creativity. These acts of service like vacuuming, hanging a bird feeder, planting a garden, etc., need to be done with joy in order to be perceived as a gift of love.

Physical Touch - Sometimes just stroking your spouse's back, holding hands, or a peck on the cheek will fulfill this need.

Which one is yours?

simple pleasures in life

Our Sunday morning was spent this way. My lil brother created mango sago and it was divine. My Mom watched the Hatton-Manny Pacquiao fight on live stream from the net.

Simple, but happy moments.

my nerdy geek

I realized that I have never written anything about R. Pretty crazy since amongst all my exes, he was the one who treated me really well and who made me feel really loved.

I met R because of Neri. She's a friend of mine from college who apparently met someone online two years from when we met. They fell in love online and sent each other pics. When they met up in real life so to speak, he did not like what she looked like and dumped her. The exact words were, "I am not yet mature enough to go look beyond the physical."

Two years after they met, Neri and I became friends and since she had such faith in how good I looked, she thought I could avenge her. R and I became what we can call textmate. V and I were still together then but he was okay with that since it was supposed to be for fun.

I got hooked to him via text. Not hook that I fell in love with him but that I found him very interesting and entertaining. I liked that he could talk about things and make me think on my toes. I liked that he made me learn new things and that he was different. Whenever V and I fought, I would turn to him. He became my shock absorber and my sponge. He thought I was having a fight with my exboyfriend then. We were reeling him in and I was the worm to the bait.

One day, we decided to meet. I was with Neri at the mall and he came. I think he knew what was happening soon as he saw Neri but he couldn't really confront me. He was just really quiet soon as we sat down for snack. I asked him, "Cat got your tongue?" to which he replied "Actually, yes." It was pretty witty since he knew me by the name "Cat."

Next was to invite him to dinner at Neri's house where I introduced him to V. That was the clincher. Neri got her revenge and I felt like crap; still, I thought, it was for my friend and he was a scumbag for hurting my friend.

He drank a lot that night. A lot.

He became a little bit distant after but I continued to text him and call him. Out of guilt? Maybe. I think I was starting to like him and V and I were on the rocks. Eventually V and I broke up and he asked to court me. I didn't alllow him since I knew Neri still liked him but it was Neri who made a way to get us together.

It was harsh. I was harsh at him. I didn't want to fall in love after being hurt by V and so I hurt him and hurt him. Eventually, he won me over. It was pretty smooth sailing, our relationship. My family learned to love him and his family adored me. Talks of us settling down was discussed and I was welcomed by his side and he was welcomed by my side.

Alas, as they say, some good things never last and we didn't. I still can't pinpoint what made me break up with him. To this day, I sort of regret letting him go. He made me feel like a queen. I never doubted him, even for a second. I was secured with him. I was loved.

If I see him again, and I'm free and he's free ... I would most likely tell him, "I wish it was us again." I wish. I had him at his best and I chose to break his heart. It's crazy. I was crazy.

Still, I've learned my lesson. I will never make the same mistake again. Never. I will never let go of something good and something special. Never again.

munimuni # 39

This week was a wee bit tiring at work. A lot of work related stress and a really horrible start to the week. Thank God that issue was fixed and another chance was given to something good. It took the possibility of losing something good to realize what needed to be changed so I'm happy that at least, it was given another chance and not just thrown out the window.

The weekend was not relaxing since there was a party to go to; 3 hours away. It was a great party but pretty tiring due to the long travel time. We also had to walk uphill for about 20 minutes since we did not have a car and the place was way way inside the village.

Here are some pictures from the party. The only consolation was that B and K had fun, lots of it. I was also able to finally see Len again and her two beautiful daughters and meet her hubs. We also got to have dinner at Trinoma with our Mom afterwards so it was pretty worth it. =)

K with her facepaint of roses
fish and chips at Fish and Company ... YUMMY!
family having dinner
B showing off Dumbo in his arms
with Len, the mom of the celebrators ...
the bday celebrator in her super gorgeous gown
B posing in front of the princesses
in their little Tiffany tables and chairs (K, B, and Nanny A)
Mommy K and B showing off their glasses
B modelling

It was a pretty good week. Busy and without much rest but good since there was another chance and it was spent with people I love all week long.

I heart Hallmark!

These cards always manage to convey what I want to say when I cannot find words to form the feelings that I have. I hope that cards like this will never be phased out for as much as I love instant communication, there is still something to be said about actual, handwritten cards.

SPH # 21: Walking

Here is B back when he was just almost 2 walking towards the beach ball that he was chasing. He opted to walk since when he tried running, he fell flat on his face. Lol.

getting to know me

Your view on yourself:

You are down-to-earth and people like you because you are so straightforward. You are an efficient problem solver because you will listen to both sides of an argument before making a decision that usually appeals to both parties.

The type of girlfriend/boyfriend you are looking for:

You are not looking merely for a girl/boyfriend - you are looking for your life partner. Perhaps you should be more open-minded about who you spend time with. The person you are looking for might hide their charm under their exterior.

Your readiness to commit to a relationship:

You are ready to commit as soon as you meet the right person. And you believe you will pretty much know as soon as you might that person.

The seriousness of your love:

You are very serious about relationships and aren't interested in wasting time with people you don't really like. If you meet the right person, you will fall deeply and beautifully in love.

Your views on education

Education is very important in life. You want to study hard and learn as much as you can.

The right job for you:

You're a practical person and will choose a secure job with a steady income. Knowing what you like to do is important. Find a regular job doing just that and you'll be set for life.

How do you view success:

You are confident that you will be successful in your chosen career and nothing will stop you from trying.

What are you most afraid of:

You are afraid of things that you cannot control. Sometimes you show your anger to cover up how you feel.

Who is your true self:

You are mature, reasonable, honest and give good advice. People ask for your comments on all sorts of different issues. Sometimes you might find yourself in a dilemma when trapped with a problem, which your heart rather than your head needs to solve.
