to tell or not to tell

When you are desperate and a solution comes, but you know that solution will upset someone dear to you ... but you're really, really desperate ... and this solution is the only one that has presented itself, do you go for it and keep it to yourself therefore lying by ommission to that person who matters to you or do you tell and just pray that the other person understands you are really desperate?

I am in that situation and I am not used to hiding things. This is killing me. To tell or not to tell?

  1. I've always tried to be straight forward with things, the way I see it is that it's better that my loved ones know even if they don't approve because one day I might need their support. If they know whats going on in my life it's easier for them to understand and accept the situation should I need their help one day.

My sister did it the other way around, she didn't tell and she put a lot of effort in keeping her secret. In return she didn't get help and support when she desperately needed it because people in her life didn't know and understand how much she needed them. As much as we disapproved of her choice that time we would still have helped her and supported her since we care about her.

You say that you are not used to hiding things, so please don't change now. What you can do is decide how you tell it and how you put your words. The presentation of it all can make a huge difference. Think it over and find a way to explain how desperate you are and why it's so important to you, it could help with the reaction of the person that you want to tell it to.

    Good Luck!

  2. Sometimes it's so hard to make a decision especially if it might upset someone close to us. It is always best to weigh the positive and negative side of every decision. If the positive side outweighs the negative, then you can start considering it. Wishing you the best.

  3. It'll depend on how much the other person means to me, what exactly the secret is, and how the preson will probably react.
