sweating the small stuff

all the small stuff in my life .. until I remembered that I had a book called Don't Sweat the Small Stuff in Love .... then I saw the book Don't Sweat the Small Stuff ... and I remembered ... it really is all small stuff.

I know most of you can relate to me when I say that we all live our life as if it were one big emergency. And we shouldn't be living like that ... life is not one huge emergency. It should be lived one day at a time whilst preparing for the future. We shouldn't all be rushing to get to our next apointment while forgetting that it was our kid's first something.

I do stop to smell the roses from time to time but I too am guilty of waking up at night because I remembered that I had an "important" thing at work that I forgot to do. Seriously, work will not stop simply because I'm not there.

So from this day forward, I will no longer ...

stress about my endless task ...
- I will take it one at a time and finsih what I can
- stress about that tiny dustmite at home ... its a sign that I'm too busy with other worthwhile things (hmm, as long as its gone by the next day... hehe)
- stress why my ballpens are not in order ... a simple clutter is nice
- why there are some people out there meant to ruin your day ... they can only ruin mine if I let them
- stress about every lil thing ... they're really not worth my time

What small stuff gets your irked?

how the B spends his afternoon

This is how the tornado spends every single afternoon in the house. Does he remind you of something? Yes, a jumping bean ... he just keeps jumping and jumping and then dances on top of the table ...

Who wouldn't lose weight watching over him and running after him?

my love of quirky stamps

I recently discovered the joy of foam stamps. I invaded our local toy shops and tada! The cheapest foam stamps in town, yet the best ones I think I can probably get in this side of the globe. There's just a simple novelty to these kind of stamps. I can't get enough of them. Has this ever happened to you?

It was funny coz as I was buying it, the store clerks kept asking if it was for my baby. Imagine my shock when I told them that it was for me. Lol!

Do you like foam stamps? Do you have any lil quirk that you wanna share? Lemme know, I'm interested. Who knows, we may have the same interest after all.

1st official trip to the mall

Here are pictures of my tornado in one of the rides he tried out on our first official trip to the mall as a family. It was very hot yesterday so hubby decided to go to the mall to freshen up. Hubby went on his way upon getting there while the Nanny and I brought the tornado to the rides area. He had so much fun and was never scared eventhough it was his first time to go on the kiddie rides.

We also went to Toy Kingdom where we chose a bike for the tornado that he will be getting for his birthday. Afterwards, we had halo halo and it felt heavenly. How was your weekend?

B's 1st beach outing

buried in the sand
playing in the sand

super duper tired and sleeping after his first beach outing
We went out yesterday with my family and headed off South to catch some sun and family time together. The tornado had loads of fun and I had fun watching them. I didn't go swimming since I'm more of a pool person than the beach type. There's just something about the vastness of the ocean that scares me. At least a pool is limited. It could be because I don't know how to swim though. Never did learn. Never will learn.
What about you? Are you more of a swimming pool person or a beach babe?

friends forever you said...

this is a picture of my foot and my high school best friends foot ...
Have you kept in touch with friends from way back? You know, the ones who come from your kindergarten days? Middle school times? The really old ones who knew you when youo were merely a snot nosed kids who probably had braces and looked not too good.

I have ... I've actully been able to keep in touch with all of them and we've recently met up in Mall of Asia and it was such a blast. Conversations started with "20 years ago ..." and then we'd laugh since we realized that we were just 6 or 7 when we first met. We felt a tad bit old too.

I just love meeting old friends. They were there when I was just a kid and now that I have a kid of my own, they're still there for me. I hope my own tornado will have friendships that would last as well.

What's your story? Grab a cup of cofee, sit down, and tell me.

*** I'd also like to offer prayers to the famly and friends of anyone who has lost someone in the Virginia Tech massacre. We here in the Philippines mourn with you.

ice cream quirk

I've always loved ice cream and have been on the look out for the perfect ice cream holder. Finally, I found it via Avon. Yes, Avon, the one that sells cosmetics and the like. Whopee for Avon. Now, I get to enjoy my ice cream more because of this fantastic ice cream holder.

Won't you have some ice cream with me? What's your favorite? I'm serving banana split flavor today ... grab a spoon and eat with me.

YUMMY!

thanks and a chicken alfredo recipe

First off, thank you to everyone who shed some light into my neurotic self. Hubby and I have spoken and all's well that ends well. Hehe ... So as a thank you ... here's a recipe for Chicken Alfredo. Everyone loves chicken as well as pasta so here's a recipe combining both.

On a side note, I have lost 5lbs since January. Whee!

Second, here's a recipe I've tried that came out fantastic. Either it was a really good recipe or I'm that good in the kitchen. Oh yeah. Lol!

Chicken Alfredo Pasta

I was sipping a really cold milk since we're experiencing mild heat wave here when the tornado came barreling in our room. I decided to let him try sipping and was planning on teaching him how to. Imagine my shock when he grabbed the straw and sipped like a pro. I am such a proud Mommy right now. Cheers cheers!

what makes a marriage a partnership

This is one question in my mind right now. I know weddings may be grandiose or simple, lavish or solemn ... it really depends on what the bride and groom wants (weel, mostly the bride.) But a marriage, that takes two to tango, two to make it work. So what makes it work? What makes it a real marriage?

Is it a partnership if the woman feels that she's the one who's always giving way? Is it a partnership if the woman feels that not all her needs are being met nor addressed? Is it a partnership when there's 5% talk, say 25% sex, and mostly just being together (not necessarilybeing together being together but mostly just physically together?) Most of the time, I feel that I am his partner. But at times, he makes me feel like decor.

You get my point?

Hubby is a really wonderful dad. He makes time for the tornado and is a good provider. He makes it a point to have moments with me but there are times that I feel neglected. That I feel that he's not a hubby to me.

One of the things we always fight about is my desire to talk. He doesn't like talking. I love to talk. Hence, the blog. No offense meant but blogging is just not the same thing as talking. I love interacting and I love hearing about other people's lives and sharing mine.

He doesn't. I have to squeeze it out of him to tell me things about his childhood. Most of the time, I learn about things about him or his friends when his family has a get together or he's with people from his past. With him, it's more of a question and answer kind of thing.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just hurting coz I've asked him to meet my friend for the 6th time in 2 years and he still gives me the exact same reason. He doesn't want to go out of the house. Seriously.

He says he wants to meet my friends but he just doesn't want to go out of the house. To be fair to him, he really is a homebody but I don't know. It just doesn't feel right to me. Shouldn't he meet my friends? Shouldn't he exert effort to meet them?

Or am I being melodramatic here? I mean, he does make time to be with me from time to time. He's never cheated on me. He's always here in the house and doesn't go out with his friends to drink and be merry.

Shed some light into my crazed talk. Bang me against a wall if I deserve it. It's just that right now, I don't feel loved by him.

shame on me

Being too busy is not an excuse. Living far away from the postal office is not an excuse. Being immersed, lost, and drowning with work is not an excuse. Having the tornado to contend with is not an excuse.

Or so it should be.

Sadly though, those are my excuses for not having been able to send out my KMMS swap to Judy and Judi. I know you guys both hate me and I don't blame you at all. But I am a firm believer of the saying ...

"BETTER LATE THAN NEVER!"

So ... you guys will just get a really good, albeit late, surprise in the mail one of these days and I will surely make up for my sorry ass reasons for not sending it on time, especially to Judy who has been waiting for my package since Feb. I am such a bad swap partner.

I think I'll host an April swap but not join in. I'll just be the coordinator. Is that a good enough punishment?

What do you think?

To help you decide, here are the swap stuff I got from Judy and from Jennifer. All I can say is, I am so lucky to have such generous blog swap partners. The best. Simply the best.

this is from Jennifer ... loved the seeds ... loved the coin ... loved the letter and cards

the next two photos are all from Judy ... FABULOUS! I so LOVED it!

I swear, I will make it up to both of you. I will. I swear. Thank you, thank you for the generosity and sweetness.

Say you both forgive me, Judy and Judi. =(
