some sisterly love

I got a package from a friend of mine whom I have not seen in quite a while. Busy scheds that just won't meet is the main culprit here. Add the fact she lives in the North and I live in the South and I thought we will never be able to have contact but no! That was not the case.
She sent me a package and it just made me so happy. I felt so loved by her and I know that for her to go such lengths means that I do have a place in her heart. Thanks bading! The best ka talaga! Mwah!

signs of a happy home part 2

A ref filld with food. I don't know why but in our house, when the ref has nothing in it, people sorta feel down. I guess it's true that a hfull stomach equals happy smiles. Hehe ...

Is it the same in your home?

collectibles

Some people are into collecting vintage cars, some stamps that will be of great value one day, while others collect toys kept in boxes to make sure it will be in mint condition. Me? I collect lots of stuff too but its never with the thinking that this will be worth something someday. I wish I could say that my collections are all worthy investments but its not. I collect simply because it makes me happy, it gives me a giddy feeling inside and puts a silly huge smile on my face.

See this? These are some of the things I collect. Care Bears stuff. I don't know why but they make me very happy. When I see Care Bears stuff, I just get a huge smile on my face. And that for me is far more worth than any other futuristic value something may have.

What puts a silly smile on your face?

what depression does ...

initial haircut done by me

the godawful backview ....

the end result ...
I wanted to give my son a haircut but ended up murdering his hair so his Grandpa and Dad had to take him to the barber shop. He is now bald.
Like it or hate it?

a day with my dad ...

Today was just another day ... another day spent visiting my Dad who we don't get to see often. My family history is quite complicated so lets just spare you the details. Anyway, today was a wee bit different. I felt more at ease with my Dad and more attuned to him. He seemed so light and happy and I felt good.

He shared some cooking tips that I know I will one day pass on to my tornado. He shared funny stories we've heard before but didn't mind hearing again seeing as it made my Dad smile. I don't know, I guess I felt we were a family; a real one.

Anyway, done with the mush. Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there, on the way to fatherhood, or wants to be one. Have a good one!

168 finds

I love buying stuff at 168! Where else can you go to buy the cheapest goodies ever? See this one above? It's a ferris wheel photo frame. It's so cool, but it gets much better! It's also a musical one and it goes round and round. Uh huh! This costs $4.

And this one below is an embosser that you can use for scrapbooking or any other things you wanna emboss designs on. You can even put an embossed design on the 4th page of your books to signify its yours. Can't be too careful of those people who borrow and never return. Hehe. This one costs $6.

I love 168.

i hate goodbyes

Today, hubby's relatives will be leaving to go back to their home in the US. We'll see them in 3 years time. Pretty long time if you ask me. Hopefully, by that time, I'd have lost weight, my son would be in school, and hubby and I have saved money and still be strong together.

I wish that everyone would still be in good health and that family ties are all intact. I've considered them family already and it's always sad to say goodbye to people you care about. I might be off to see them later, or not. I guess it depends if my disastrous health can bare it.

The last few days have been so memorable. we've gone on shopping splurges, lots of bonding moments, and swap some stuff. I just hope it will not all fade in memory coz that's what happens at times. Still, I know that whatever happens, they will always be family and I will be part of their family no matter what.

Bon voyage and till we see each other again ...

Interview Meme from Wifely Steps

I got interviewed by Wifely Steps!

1. How do you manage your anger?

Hmm ... I vent a lot. I have to or Iwould pass out from so much anger.

2. What's your favorite bag like?
Its black, lumpy, and big. I carry lots of stuff coz I don't like looking for things or asking people for stuff.

3. If your mood were a color, what color would it be now?

Right now it would be a bit black since I'm watching this show where underage teenagers beat people up for the heck of it. I worry how my son would turn out and if I would be a good mom.

4. What's the best advice on motherhood you have gotten?

You can only do so much. Don't try to be a perfect Mom coz there's no perfect Mom. All you can do is love your son and give him all the values you know and then pray to God that everything turns out well.

5. How kooky are you, Kay? :)
I'm very kooky, but less kooky then before. Motherhood has grounded me. I think it's for the best too. =)

Interview rules:
1. Leave me a comment saying “Interview me.”
2. I will respond by emailing you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. You will update your blog with the answers to the questions.
4. You will include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others comment asking to be interviewed, you will ask them five questions.

aphrodisiac or not?

I've always loved oysters even before I knew they were considered an aphrodisiac. Eversince then, whenever I see one, I think aphrodisiac. I hate it. Seriously. I feel like something so wonderful from my childhood has been tainted. When I order it in a restaurant, I feel like people are giving me a knowing glance and thinking "oh yeah baby!"

Argh!

Do you have this kind of thing? Something that has been tainted forever because of a lil unknown fact that ou learned and has now made you look at things a lil differently?

a barong and some Burger King

The tornado was asked to be a ring bearer for the 25th anniversarry of hubby's tita. They had a barong made for him and he looked darn good. He wasn't such a good ring bearer though because he wouldn't carry them and kept putting them on his head. Well, he is only just almost 2 years. Hehe. The day before, we went to Burger King and ate. Here he is with an onion ring. Mind you, he ate almost 3 pieces of it. Sure looks like he enjoyed it too.

What was the last food you enjoyed?

5 restos I love ...

I've been tagged by Daddy Forever for the Eating Out Meme.

Here are the rules for the meme:
1. Link to the name of the person who tagged you.
2. Include the state and country in which you live.
3. List your top 5 favorite places to eat at your location (locally).
4. Tag 5 other people (preferably from other countries/states) and let them know they’ve been tagged.

Hmmm ... this should be intereting ... I am from the Philippines by the way.

1) TGIFridays ... I love their Mushroom Chicken and Mushroom thing. It's a bit expensive for Philippine standards but I like the homey feel of it.

2) Jollibee will never be out of the list since it brings back memories of childhood.

3) Tempura for their Japanese food. I love Japanese food, all the sushi and gyudon that I can eat.

4) Binondo strip for the Chinese food ... yummy!

5) And last but not the least ... Aristocrat for their yummy chicken barbecue.

I am now tagging Waya, GrayMama, Kat's Crib, The Wooden Porch, and Zha.
